Wreath Medallion

I saw  several people on Pinterest using the Daydream Medallions set as a wreath for Christmas.  Then I noticed that the coordinating die, Floral Frames,  is part of this weeks "Weekly Deals" at Stampin' Up!  So of course I had to make one too.   On my version I used Gumball Green for my wreath.  I layered Cherry Cobbler with a piece of striped paper from the Season of Style Designer Series Paper. I love the "Merry" thinlit too, so I had to use that.  This card is really very simple, but I like it a lot.  Hope you do to!
Have you been checking out the Weekly Deals?  You can find them in the online store.  New deals come out on Tuesdays.  There have been some really great things on special.  Add to the already great Online Sale that goes through December 2nd and there are some fantastic buys right now.  I heard that there are going to be some Door Buster Deals on December 2nd, so don't forget to check them again Monday.

I used the Circles Collection Framelits and the Floral Frames Framelits at the same time, only one time through the machine for the whole wreath.

The Smaller wreath is popped up on Dimensionals.

Matchbook Style Gift Card Holder

I love this little Frosty from the "Best of Snow" stamp set!  Too Cute!  Does he look familiar?  Frosty was part of a very popular stamp set from way back.  He has been made a bit smaller and put into a set for the Stampin' Up! 25th year celebration!  Fun!  I decided to use him in the middle of my Snowflake, I knew he would feel right at home.
This gift card holder is made from the Envelope Punch Board.  I saw this on a post by blogger Jackie Topa.   I really like finding multiple uses for things, and this card really made me love my Envelope Punch Board even more.

I started with a piece of Smokey Slate card stock 4 1/4 by 11, scored at 2, 7 1/4 and 7 3/8.    Then I used the Envelope Punch Board to punch the notches at 1 inch from each side of the top flap.  This card folds like a match book.  Fold the two inch flap up, attach only at the sides so that it forms a pocket.  Your notched top will tuck into this pocket, and your gift card will slide into this pocket as well.   You could leave the inside as is, but Jackie showed a way to make an inner liner that lifts the gift card out of the pocket when you open the card.

Inside the card is a white piece of card stock, 6 1/2 by 3 1/2  that has been scored at 1 3/4 and 6.  Fold the larger flap up and the tiny flap back.  The small flap needs to be attached to the Smoky Slate top flap, just above the fold.  This way, when you open the card, the gift card comes up from under the folded flap of Smoky Slate.  Fun.

I tied some Pool Party seam binding ribbon around the bottom of my card, and added this fun "Let it Snow" tag, also from the "Best of Snow" set.

My snowflakes were cut from Silver Glimmer paper using the Festive Flurry framlit dies.   I also cut a whisper white snow flake, and stamped Frosty onto it.

I used the smallest and second largest snowflake, nestled together.   You end up with a great snowflake frame, and a fun small snowflake to use on a future project.

Best of Snow Stamp set # 134387 $14.95

MDS Blog Hop

Its MDS Blog Hop time again!  I love MDS (My Digital Studio to those who are unfamiliar) and so do the others on the Blog Hop.  We are a group of Ten Demonstrators who link up our blogs twice a month to highlight Stampin' Up's Digital Software program "My Digital Studio".  On the first hop of the month we have a theme.  On the second hop of the month we feature "What are we working on".  You may have just hopped to me from the talented Cori's blog!  If not, follow the link at the end of my post and hop from blog to blog until you get back to me, that way you wont miss a single project on the Blog Hop Tour!  You wont be disappointed!  On to my project.   What I am working on is Christmas cookie containers!  Every year for the past 20 years (yikes) my friend Jackie and I get together to bake Christmas cookies.  While shopping at a restaurant supply store, and what crafter doesn't, I noticed some fun food take away containers that I thought would be great to give cookies to my neighbors in.  They were just plain and boring though.  MDS to the rescue!  I measured the lids and made some new covers for them.
I made two different versions because, well digital is so easy so why not?  The one on top uses the new Sweet on Christmas download- love it! The version on the bottom uses the punches in the Ornament Keepsakes download, filled with a variety of bright Designer Series paper.

I printed out my page, fitting two to a page.  Then I traced the lip to get the corners rounded in just the right way.   One of the great things about MDS is that it works seamlessly with your Stampin' Up! paper crafting tools.  The cute scallop circle in the Sweet on Christmas download is sized to match the 2 3/8 Scallop punch.  Of course, since it's digital, you can resize the image as well, but if you leave it as is, it will be a perfect fit!  Same goes for the Ornament Keepsakes punches, they fit the Ornament Keepsakes framelits! The Ornament Framelits are from last years Holiday Catalog, but are still available online only!  In fact, now until December 2, they are part of the Online Sale and are 25% off!! Get them before they are gone for good :)  item # 127816 $18.71

I hope you like my MDS projects today!  Maybe I've inspired you to give MDS a try? I hope so! I love it!
Head on over to the next blog on our hop.  You will be treated to what Holly is working on, I am sure it will be fabulous!  Click the link below!

Pretty Purse Gift Card Holder

Hi Everyone!  Today I am sharing a project we made last weekend at Stamp Camp.  This is a little Gift Card holder purse.  It is super fun and easy and you could really decorate this so many ways.  My little purse has a frosty feel, perfect for Christmas.

I started with a piece of card stock 5 1/2 by 6 inches, scored in half at 3 inches.

I used the largest of the Windows Collection Framelit Dies to cut out the purse.  This is two layers thick, with the folded part to the left.  Framelits are meant to cut one layer at a time, but I am bending the rules a bit and doing this with the two layers.  I had no problems but I just wanted you to know that this is technically not meant to be used this way.   You will have to decide if you are willing to try it on your Big Shot.  If not, you can cut a pattern with your Big shot in a single layer, then trace it onto your folded piece at cut it out by hand.  That would work too.

I used the Circles collection framelits for my handle.

I cut another circle out of patterned paper for the flap.  Attach half the circle to the back, then fold it over for the flap.  I used glue dots for the handle.

Inside there is a strip of card stock adhered at both ends.  Just tuck the gift card under the strip.

Best of Christmas

Yesterday I showed you some hidden Gems in the Online Store.  Here is another.  The "Best of...." sets!!  The "Best of..." sets are for the Stampin' UP! 25 year anniversary!   They are going back into past catalogs and bringing back customer favorites from the last 25 years.  The "Best of" sets feature one new stamp in each set too.   Here I am using the "Best of Christmas" set.  I loved this sweet First Christmas scene and even found myself humming "Away in a manger" while I colored it in.   My little daughter Jillian came in and said she didn't like how I was singing, so I was sort of surprised but stopped.  Then she said "no mommy, I like the song, keep singing it" so I asked her what she meant because she had just told me she didn't like how I was singing.  Turns out she doesn't like the "Away" word in the song.  She wants it song with out the "Away".  I asked why and she said she wants the manger close to her, not "away".    How sweet is that?
Back to the card...
I cut out the window with my Labels Collection Framelit dies, love them.   I then popped the top layer up with dimensionals to make it stand out and away from the scene in the window.  I use Stazon ink to ink up the image, and used blender pens to color it in.

Here is what the whole "Best of  Christmas" set looks like...

Endless Wishes card and tag

There are some hidden gems in the Stampin' Up! online store.  If you are just shopping the catalogs you are missing some goodies.   Have you seen the Photopolymers?  I mentioned them a few weeks back here.  Well, my set came a couple weeks back and this is the first time I've been able to play with them.  And then when I did make a card, the set was on backorder, so I didn't want to post my project!  This set was so popular it sold out in just a couple weeks!   Well,  its back in stock so you can now get it again.  All photopolymer stamps are "while supplies last" so don't wait too long it you want it.    I really like this set. I can tell it will get a lot of use.  The words are so much fun to layer.   I have paired up Midnight Muse with Crumb cake and Whisper White.  I love white ink on Crumb Cake for some reason.  Here I made a tag and card.

Don't you just love the word stamps?  I love the mixed fonts. so fun!   Check out the other fun online only stamps.  Look under "new arrivals" for the latest, or scroll down to the stamps section and select Photopolymers to see what sets you may have missed.

MDS Blog Hop! Christmas Frameables with My Digital Studio

It's MDS blog hop day again! Yea!  A group of us have joined our blogs together to share our love of MDS with you!  I love MDS (My Digital Studio to those of you who are new) and I love showing what it can do.  We "HOP" on the Second and Fourth Thursday of the month ( a bit off this month and next due to Thanksgiving and Christmas).  If you are doing the blog hop, you just came from the talented Cori Kozak's Blog! Cori has just been named to the official My Digital Studio Design Team.  A big act for me to follow for sure! This month on the Blog Hop we are showcasing some Christmas projects.  I love that MDS is perfect for home décor as well as scrapbooks and card.  I love to add an MDS page to the frames on my library table, and Christmas is the perfect time to do it.   Sometimes I use a pre-designed Framable from Stampin' Up, but more often I like to make my own.  This year I made a trio of words to frame in a group, as well as this "Merry" for the library table.  Here is the framed finished "Merry".  The flash reflecting on the glass was making it hard to photograph, but the red is really more vibrant in person. I am going to also frame "Love", "Peace" and "Joy" and hang them in a row in the hall, but I didn't have three matching frames, so off to the store I go!  What do you think?

I also made a version for my son David.  I was thinking it might be fun framed and hung on the door to his room.
I hope you like my Frameable!  Continue on the hop and see what Holly has come up with!  Holly has also just been named to the official MDS Design Team!  I am sure she has come up with something fabulous! And to see how to make the word frames, click on over to my Beth's Digital Cuts to see my first how to video, after you've finished the hop of course :)

Holly Jolly Santa

I love the look of a polaroid picture.  They are just so much fun.  I remember having a polaroid camera and watching the photo appear in the box.  fun!  I made the polaroid frame here by using a square framelit, love those!  The papers on this card are from the Season of Style DSP pack.  The Santa image is from the Color me Christmas stamp set, colored with Blender pens.  The Color me Christmas stamp set is so much fun because I love to use my blender pens to color and this set has big bold images perfect for coloring.  I added a little bit of Dazzling Diamonds to the hat.
Another great set in the Holiday mini catalog is the Tags 4 You stamp set and matching punch.  At first I thought this set was just OK, and I love punches so I bought it.  Boy have I really used it! The only stamp out of the set that hasn't been used a dozen times yet is the Happy Heart Day stamp, which I am sure I will use in February.
Check out the sweet little bow at the top.  I love these little bows on the paper clips, so cute! I will need to order a few more before the end of the Seasonal Holiday Mini catalog.
