New content at the My Paper Pumpkin site

Hi Paper Pumpkin friends!  I thought I would share this new feature on the My Paper Pumpkin site.  The home page has been redesigned to add a link to see projects made with the monthly My Paper Pumpkin sets.  I usually make about half the kit as is, but then I use the rest of the supplies to see what else I can do.  This is a great site to help you see other uses for the pieces in the monthly kits.  The projects are grouped by month so you can click on exactly the kit you are looking for.  Check it out!
Did you know that if you are a My Paper Pumpkin subscriber you can buy refill kits or past whole kits? Well you can, so if there is something you see at the Pinterest page, you can check to see if that kit is still available.
feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

Regarding Dahlia

Hello Stampers!  I want to share a card I made this week before its too late!  I made it before the retirement list came out, thinking I would use it at an upcoming stamp camp.  Then, the list came out and of course the stamp set is retiring!  as well as the punch!  But, I still like it and so here you are.
The stamp set is called "Regarding Dahlia" and I love that big flower. I framed it with the "On Film" framelits which as I looked for the name of them I now realize is also on the clearance list!!  So basically this is a card using all retiring products!  Yikes!  The paper is also retiring and it is called "back to black".

here is the inside.

The punch is also retiring and it is on sale, so that is a good thing.   I love the Bermuda Bay with the Black, very pretty!  I just ordered a new roll of that Bermuda Bay sequin trim too! I love it!

Here is the supply list, get them while you can!

Thanks for stopping by!

Retirement Sale and Clearance

It's Here!  The official list of what is retiring from the Stampin' Up! annual catalog.  Lots of it is on sale too!  Check out the selection here.  The site seems to be running a tiny bit slowly this morning, I think all of us Stampers are trying to look at the list at the same time : )

A note of caution...
Things go fast!!!  If there were some In-Color items you wanted, maybe Strawberry Slush paper? You need to get them fast.  In-Color paper and ink are always gone right away.

I also heard that new items were going to be added to the clearance rack tomorrow, so be sure to check that too!

Hi again!  I am editing this page because apparently we have crashed the SU site this morning.  They are working on it. I am attaching a pdf here in hopes you will be able to see the list... http://su-media.s3.amazonaws.com/media/lastChance/2015_NA_RetiredList/US_retiredList_ENG.pdf

Crazy about You stamp set Pinterest Copy

Hi everyone!  I thought I would share this card I made last week.  It was a card I found on Pinterest that I thought was so pretty and easy for a beginners class.  Here is the original.  I changed it up by making it into a standard card size.  I wanted to give out envelopes but did not want to bring the envelope punch board  to make a custom size.

We did decorate the flap of our envelopes with some coordinating paper.  Simply trace the flap and adhere it to the outside.  So fast but such a nice touch.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for the retirement list!  Can you believe it's been a year already?!
Items go really fast, especially the In-Color ink refills and paper, so if you want those you need to get on them ASAP.

Thanks for stopping by!

Artisan Inspired Mother's Day

Hello Stampers!  I was looking at some of my Favorite blogs last week and came across some lovely cards using the Mother's Love stamp set from the Occasions Catalog.  This is a really pretty set and I knew I wanted to copy a card from Cindy Schuster's Artisan Blog Hop post, here.  I changed it up a bit to use at a class where I didn't want to bring my heat gun, but the design is pretty much the same.

I started by stamping the outline flower randomly on Velum Cardstock.  I adhered it to the Calypso Coral card base only in the area under where I knew the white panel would cover any adhesive marks.  I used bits of doily and some glimmer paper for some fancy trim.   I also cut out a separate flower stamped onto Whisper White paper in gold ink for a little embellishment with a tiny punched flower, a pearl, and some seam binding ribbon.

Here is the inside of the card.  I brought a non-mother's Day version as well in case there were those that did not want to make a Mother's Day specific card.

The little treat holder is one that I've made a dozen times.  So simple and inexpensive.  Just a strip of cardstock 3 by 6.  score at 2 7/8, then 3 1/8.  Score before you punch!  Then place the paper into the Tag Topper Punch an punch.  So easy.  Add some ribbon and a cute saying to the front and you are done.   Great party favor!

Inside is a little Ghiradelli square chocolate.  Fold the flaps under and it fits perfectly.  I have found that you don't need to use any adhesive, it stays nicely in place.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Be sure to check out my link to the Artisan Blog Hop at the top of this post. They all have some amazing products.

Pinterest Challenge

I was talking with a friend the other day about how I like to look at Pinterest.  She asked what I like to pin.  I said that I liked card ideas and home ideas, recipes, sketch and watercolor ideas.  So then she asked if I ever actually used these ideas. hmmmm... I guess not very often.  But I have reasons! Like the home stuff is for later when I remodel the house.  Recipes are for if I ever through a party.  Card ideas I do sometimes use for a class.  But I never actually do the watercolor ideas or the sketch ideas.  I thought that since I had a somewhat easy day today, I would play around with my Aqua Painters and do some watercolor.  Here is the original pin.  Her flowers are so much better than mine, well so is the jar but her flowers are wow better.
But this is so fun!  I highly recommend to my stampy friends to get out their ink pads and aqua painters and play around, its like therapy! But cheaper!  I had coffee, music, and a table fun off ink pads!  I used Smokey Slate, Soft Sky, Rose Red, Always Artichoke and So Saffron on this one.

For this one I used my fine tip micron pen and made a super quick sketch, then used Aqua Painters to color it in.  It certainly is not as nice as the original, here, but it was still fun and I am glad that I did it.
I used Strawberry Slush, Blushing Bride, So Saffron, Old Olive and River Rock.

quick sketch, then add color.

I tried to just let it be on this one and not over think it.  Not sure about what I think but maybe if I try it a few more times I will like the results.

So, are you a pinner?  If so, go do one of the things you pinned!  It will make all the time spend on the site feel more worth while, and you will have some fun!

Love my Aqua Painters

Hello everyone!  I thought I would share a few cards I made a while back that use the Aqua Painters.  I just made them again recently and couldn't remember if I posted them and when I looked back through older posts I didn't see it so I thought I would post them now.  Better late than never right?  I did a class for a few ladies who I had never crafted with before and I wasn't sure about how technical I should get or what type of card to bring.  I decided to make a couple pretty and a couple more masculine.  These are the Masculine cards.  Both use the Wetlands Set.

both cards start out by using the aqua painters to make the background.  I used Soft Sky and Crumb Cake on both, with the addition of Lost Lagoon on the card with the grasses.

Once dry I used Stazon ink to stamp the main images.

To add the linen thread, simply place a glue dot on your card and start making loops with the tread.  keep attaching the thread to the glue dot every so often, adding another if you need to.  Every once and a while you should place your punched piece on top of the treads to see what you think, do you need more, less?

I added some other details to some versions of the card, like sponging and distressing of the edges, and also paper piercing details.  Do as much or a little as you like.

The Happy Father's Day stamp is from the Crazy About You stamp set.  This is going to become a most used set I can tell.  It has just about everything a card maker needs as far as sentiments go.  I have the Teeny Tiny Wishes for this as well, but its nice to have another option and I like the size of these.  It's a pricer set, but you get a lot.  There is also a thinlit set that goes with it that you can get as a bundle.
This set has lots of words, and they are separated so you need to sort of build your sentiment.  Here I used the Happy and the Father's Day.  I think that using a lined scrap paper before stamping is essential.  I use the Stampin' Up! grid paper as my work surface, it is perfect for this.  You can make sure your words are lined up perfectly.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!!
