Poinsettia Pillow Boxes!

Poinsettia Pillow Boxes!
I buy just about every little box die that Stampin' Up! has because I seem to frequently need little gifts for teachers or helpers or whatever.  They are also great for craft fair items. The little square pillow box from the Holiday catalog is super cute.  I am thinking it will be great for a gift card and some chocolates!  At the Stampin' Up! convention they showed us how to make them longer too!  Just add another side by side the first and hide where you connect them with a cute belly band!
For my Pillow box gift I decided to add a poinsettia flower made from the Festive Flower Builder Punch.  Love this punch!!

The Festive Flower Builder punch is super easy and really adds some wow to the project.

Check out these videos on the Square Pillow box and the Flower builder punch!

Flurry of Wishes

Silver or Gold?  Can't decide which one I like better!
Did you see this stamp set in the Holiday Catalog?  I love it when a stamp has a matching punch and so of course I added this to my first order!   This stamp set has 4 sizes of snowflakes as well as a few sentiments to go with.

When I bought it I was super happy to have the matching punch and I didn't even realize that the middle sized snowflake went with the Flower Medallion punch as well!  Yippie, I already had that punch so I was good to go on three of the snowflakes!

What doesn't show up in the photo is my background.  I started by embossing snowflakes in Iridescent Ice embossing powder.
These look pretty in real life, maybe you can sort of see them in the photo  here?
I wrapped the double snowflake stamp around a block so that only one snowflake at a time was stamped because I didn't want them lined up next to each other.

Next I stamped  my sentiment in the new Archival Basic Black ink and added some pretty rows of ribbon and a layer of silver foil.

I then embossed the snowflakes onto scrap Whisper White cardstock and punched them out.

See how the medium sized snowflake fits the Flower Medallion?  Love it!

I then used dimentionals to attach the snowflakes to the card and put it all onto a nice base of Thick Whisper White cardstock.

Now I need to decide what variety to bring to Stamp Camp.  Silver or Gold?

Summer Sailing Collage

I know, not the right season for this post at all!  I made this for my mother who has a sort of Nautical/Sister bay Wisconsin theme to her basement family room.  I made it about a year ago and recently she asked me to fix a fallen piece, so it was back in my house for a bit and I realized that I never made a blog post about it.  I really like to make little collages and I have made a few of them in the past for Christmas and spring.  This one was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest by Heather Klump, a former Stampin' Up! artisan award winner.
Are you thinking, "that is not a Stampin' Up! stamp set"?  But actually it is.  A while ago, about a year, Stampin' UP! released a new Photopolymer stamp set every month as they were experimenting with the whole Photopolymer idea.  These stamps were never in the main catalog, only available online, but they are very fun and very nicely priced.  There are several of them still available online only!! Just check out the stamp section of the online store and click on photopolymer and you will see some fun stamps that will be new to you!  There is a Halloween one called "Bite Me" with a great web and cat, there is a really pretty Christmas one with a stained glass looking image of Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus, image that one embossed in gold on vellum and then colored in with markers to look like stained glass!  I wanted to share this project with you to show some stamp sets that are not in the catalog.

Sun is made with the bitty banner punch!  Clouds are from the cupcake builder punch!

Here is the stamp set.  Fun right? great for vacation scrapbook pages.

Here is a list of the sets that are not in the catalog!  there are some really great ones here, I hope you check them out!

And, I heard a little something about a Sale that starts on Monday that gives 15% off on Stamps!  Yea!  all the details have not yet been released yet so I am not 100% sure that it is All stamps but I think it is.  Check the site on Monday to see all the sale details.  Sale is to run Monday through Friday, so its a quick one!

Halloween treat holders

As a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and an avid crafter I have A LOT of little containers that I hang onto because I just know that I can use them for something someday.  You too?  I bet that is a lot of us!  Well I was thinking about my hoard and deciding what to get rid of and what to keep as I think about moving my craft room in the hopefully not too distant future.  I decided to use these little button containers for Halloween this year.
I have a ton of these and they are perfect for filling with little candies or M&M's or what ever, maybe little bat rings and pumpkin erasers?  who knows.

I used the little Jack-o-lantern face from the Sparkly Seasons stamp set.  This is a really fun set by the way.  I plan on making some ballerina cards and nutcracker snow globe shaker cards!
At first I was stamping the Chevron circle as well as the face, but then I got lazy and started to just use patterned paper.  I didn't want to get too crazy with these as I know they are going to children and may not last long.

Stampin' Up! thought of everything with this set! They made a cute stem for the pumpkin, and made dies to cut it all out! Yea!  To cut out the circles I used a paper punch since the circle punch fit my button container perfectly!

To finish off the sides of the container I used Washi tape.  You can use scraps of paper or some ribbon as well.   By the way, quick plug...Have you checked out the Clearance Rack? Stampin' UP! has a fun clearance rack at the online store and this is a GREAT place to check for little accents like ribbon and Washi tape.  Even though the types of ribbon may change or the patterns of Washi tape will change from catalog to catalog, the Stampin' Up! colors remain (well except the In-Colors) so that you can still find great accents on sale at the Clearance rack! Check it out!!

thanks for stopping by!!

The Fox says Thanks

Just a quick post today!  I am SO TIRED this week.  I am just  a little sick, enough to make me super sleepy and not get much done.  I thought I would share this card that I made earlier this week.  I used the Into the Woods product sweet for this card.  I love the little creatures in the Thankful Forest Friends stamp set.  I couldn't decided which one to use, they are all cute, but I ended up choosing the fox.
To get the "Thanks" I used a marker to only ink the word thanks from the block that reads Give Thanks.

I really like the little wooden accents from the Into the Woods collection.

Super Simple Acorn Thanks

Hello Everyone!  I have a super quick thank you to share with you today.  I needed several thank you cards for some online orders and I I wanted something quick.  This card is so simple but I think it is really fun for the season.

I started with the Watercolor thank you stamp.  I love that this is such a nice sized stamp!
I added a strip of paper from "A Walk in the Woods".  I love the fall leaves and colors in this paper!

I punched out Acorns with the Acorn builder punch and stamped the caps with a stamp from the Witching Decor stamp set.  You can use any patter for this, or use the Acorny Thanks stamp set, made for just this purpose.
Next I sponged the acorns with some Soft Suede ink.

Those of you who have been around Stampin' Up! for a while might be thinking that I have used a discontinued scallop punch to make that cute little scalloped border, but you would be wrong :)
As I made my card I wanted to use the old punch but then I thought, nah, lets see what I can do with the current merchandise and so I came up with this!
I used the largest Square die from the Square collection framelits!!  It was so easy and I cut two out at once.  And, you don't have to keep lining up the punch as you did since it was long enough to make the whole piece at one pass.  I used up some of my scraps too, so that was a plus!

I just added some adhesive to the back of the leaves paper and trimmed the ends.

Thanks for stopping by today!!
