Ho Ho Ho

Hi everyone!  This card is so ridiculously easy that I don't even know what to say about it!!  Easy but cute!  I love that little Santa hat punch!  I used to invent Santa's hat using several different punches and this just makes life so much easier!

I used Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper for the trim and Cherry cobbler for the hat.  I used the Layering Circles dies behind the hat to make it stand out a bit more.
The pretty green plaid is from the Warmth and Cheer paper stack.  Did you get some of that yet? I love it and am going to be sad when it is gone!  I am hoarding an extra pack so I will have some for quite a while.
I love that Stampin' Up! has added so many new Baker's Twine colors recently! This card uses Garden Green Baker's Twine, which is included in the Baker's Twine Trio pack.  The Trio is Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler, and Gold! Perfect for the Warmth and Cheer paper stack!

Well, that is about all I can think of to say about this card!! So, I'm keeping this post short and sweet!
I hope you enjoy the rest of your day! Thanks for stopping by!

Santa's Sleigh Christmas card

Hi everyone!  Today I wanted to share a card that we made a week or so back at my Stamp Camp. It uses the Santa's Sleigh Framelits dies and I think that the dies are so great for cards and scrapbooks and so much more.  I can see these trees or reindeer on home decor projects as well.
There is a coordinating stamp set but I have to admit that I have used the dies many times and rarely with the stamp set.  Of course it's still nice to have the stamp set, you never know when you are going to want to use them both. If you buy them by January 3rd you get a discount when purchasing them together as a bundle.
This card uses some of the Fabulous Foil specialty paper. This is really pretty acetate with gold or silver patterns on top.  I went with all gold this time and I think it looks really pretty.  I kept with a neutral color scheme of Gold and Very Vanilla, with a tree in Shimmery White.  Shimmery White card stock has a pearl like color to it, not really white, not quite ivory, with a bit of a shimmer.
The ribbon is a twill with a bit of gold threading down the center.

The card is made up with several framelits.  The main images, the reindeer, tree and star, are all from the Santa's Sleigh framelits.  I love these framelits, there is also a sleigh of course and it has the most beautiful overlay die that you can use for a super fancy sleigh, or just use the outline for a more simple sleigh.
The "tis the season" is from a stamp set called Peaceful Pines.  I searced through my Christmas stamps to see what small sentiments I  had.  This one worked nicely in the space.

I have a tip for saving some of your Gold Foil paper when making cards such as this.  I needed to cut for 12 people at my stamp camp and I was thinking about how I was using a lot of my pretty gold foil paper.  I almost decided not to use it as a frame around the Very Vanilla oval, but then I came up with this idea.  I put the reindeer and star right into the center of the oval die, and cut them all out at once.  This saved me on how many times I had to crank the Big Shot, but also on how much gold foil I needed.

The large oval is from the Layering Ovals collection.  The Very Vanilla oval is from the Stitches Shapes collection.  I did use a lot of dies from many sets and I don't usually like to do that because I don't want someone reproducing the card to need to buy so many different dies.  You could easily change the Stitched oval to a solid oval and only then need the Layering Ovals dies and not the Stitched Shapes.  That was my original plan, but then my Stitched Shapes framelits got delivered and I just had to use them right away.
Below you can see how the Vanilla oval completely cover the cut out reindeer.

I made a little video with some tips on putting this card together. Let me just say that this video is not one of my bests for sure!!  I had to do it several times and I either coughed or sneezed or knocked something over.  I had to re-cut pieces over and over.  Finally I felt that I had one that I could live with, I had made some mistakes that I could live with and may have left out a thing or two, but it was OK, then I sneezed!  I gave up! I decided to live with it.  I am only human right?  Hopefully you will laugh with me and not at me :)
You can check out the video here.

And here are some more great projects using the Santa's Sleigh bundle from the Stampin' Up! catalog!

Star of Light

Have you checked out the Star of Light stamp set?  I have to say that I think it may be the prettiest in the Holiday Catalog.  There are a lot of fun sets and I have a lot of loves, but this one is really a beautiful set.
I love this card from the cover of the catalog.
The die set includes a die that makes that 3D looking star! Love that!
There is also a die that makes those pretty holes as shown in the velum at the right of this card.
You can layer or go simple, either way its going to be gorgeous.

Here are some samples that I made with this set.

I like the watercolor background on this one, because you know I like to watercolor.

A bunch of Swaps!

Hi everyone! I am off enjoying Thanksgiving with my family and I hope you are too!  I thought I would schedule a post of some recent swaps in case anyone happens to be sitting around after their feasts and relaxing a bit online before heading to bed.
Great minds think alike on this one.  I copied the one on the left based on one I saw online, and I received one like it in a swap as well.  It uses strips of the Warmth and Cheer paper stack!  The one on the right is from Carol Stofer and uses the Warmth and Cheer Washi tape!  Both are great uses when you have small scraps or only bits of Washi left.  The trees are cut with the Santa's Sleigh dies! These are GREAT dies, even with out the stamp set!  Stamp set is pretty great too though :)

This fun Shaker card came from Yvette Dubord.  She used the snowflake from the Tin of Tags stamp set (On sale for the month of November) and the specialty paper Fancy Frost.  This paper has a variety of raised designs that look great on their own, or you could add sponging as Yvette did to show off the pattern even more.
The Fancy Frost Designer paper is also on SALE right now as part of the Online extravaganza!!
It is 30% off until Monday November 28.  The designs are not Winter specific, so you can use this paper all year round!

The card on the left is from Dianne Kipp and it uses a great embossing folder called "Holly" which is so pretty for Christmas.  The Stamp set is called Oh, What Fun and it is on Sale as part of the Stitched from the Heart promotion during November. Both cards use the Presents and Pine cones designer series paper.  The card on the right is from B. Jayne Stenstrom and it uses the Tin of Tags stamp set again!! Do you notice how often that stamp set has been used on my blog?  It is a really great set, on sale now, and not only to be used with the Tin of Tags kit! That Cable knit embossing folder is pretty great too!

I love this little mouse card. It is so cute! It was made by Judy Cayton.  The Stamp set is called Merry Mice and it is on SALE as part of the Stitched from the Heart promotion.  The Pine Bough embossing folder is on SALE until Monday November 28th and it is a Favorite of mine!

This cute card uses the Jolly Friends Stamp set and Jolly hat builder punch, which you can get as a bundle for a savings.  This card also uses that Fancy Frost specialty Textured paper and the Holly Berry Builder punch that are on SALE until Monday November 28th.
This card was from Cindy Smith.

This cute card was from Candy Leggett and uses another favorite, the Cookie Cutter Christmas bundle.  When you buy the bundle that includes the stamp set and the paper punch, you get a discount!

Last up we have another stamp set that uses the Tin of Tags stamp set! This card is from Beata Fiebelkorn.  So pretty and that paper is beautiful! The paper is in the Annual Catalog and it is called This Christmas.  The pretty pine cut outs are from the Pretty Pines framlits dies, and I love those!

I hope that you liked all of these card projects and that you will check out the great sales that are happening this weekend!!
