New Sale-a-Bration Glimmer paper!!

Hi Everyone!  Today I wanted to show you this fantastic new Glimmer Paper offering from Stampin' Up!  It is part of the second release of products for Sale-a-Bration!  You can choose it as a free product with a $50 purchase now until March 31st.
I used the Special Reason bundle for this card, as well as the Succulent Garden Designer Series paper.

The Glimmer Paper Assortment Pack comes with 12 6x6 sheets, 4 Bermuda Bay, 4 Mint Macaron, and 4 Sweet Sugarplum.

To make my card I used the new Stylish Stems framelit dies and the Special Reason stamp set. I love how these dies can cut out the floral images and the labels in 3 ways.

I made a quick video to show off the glimmer paper and the Special Reason bundle. I hope you'll check it out!

Special Reason Bundle

One of my favorite new products from the Occasions Catalog is the Special Reason bundle.   I really like the sentiments included with the stamp set, and I especially like the way the floral framelits work.

The dies work in pairs, with one die cutting out just the petals, in case you want to use the negative space as I did with the larger flower on my card.  You can also use just the outline of the flower if you wanted to cut out the stamped image.  The third way is to use the petal die and the outline die together to get the pretty thin flower outline piece.   There are two sizes of the flowers.  There are also two label framelits, and you can use these separately to make the two different sizes of labels, or together to create the label outline.

I layered all three ways to make the flowers on this card.  The colors I used are Night of Navy, Crushed Curry and Cucumber Crush.

Vertical Garden Kit

Hi Everyone!  Today I wanted to share the Vertical Garden kit from Stampin' Up! This kit makes a fun decor piece that you can hand from your door or a wall in your home.  I liked the kit in the catalog and I think it is even nicer in person.
I made my kit just a little bit different than the catalog by sponging some color onto the succulents. On the Mint Macaron petals I sponged Perfect plum.  I used Rich Razzleberry on both the Tip Top Taupe and Wild Wasabi petals.  For the Garden Green petals I used White ink.  I used Old Olive on the Sweet Sugar plum petals.

I timed myself to see how long it would take to do this project in case anyone asked.  I was able to complete one set of flowers (one of the colors) with sponging, curling the petals, and gluing down the layers in 14 minutes.  There are 5 colors of succulents.  I finished the roses faster at just 12 minutes. Admittedly I am a speedy crafter, so maybe add a bit more time if you are one who likes to take your time.  Add some time for deciding your layout (this took me a long time!) and gluing it all down, plus some time for the banner, and I think you are looking at 2 hours.         The Stampin' Up! kit instructions do not have you do sponging, so you could skip that step if you wanted to and you would go much faster.  I made a video showing the steps and I sped up the video for the repeated motions of sponging and curling the petals so that you wouldn't have to watch all that, and it is still over 25 minutes long. Yikes!

The kit and the stamps are sold separately so that you could make several without paying for the stamps more than once.  This would be a good kit to make with a few friends one evening. You could save some money by sharing the stamp set and everyone buying a kit.  If you are in my area and think you would like to do this, I can supply the stamps and ink, your and a few friends buy the kits, and we could have a little girls night out craft party.  Let me know!

St. Patrick's Day treat bags

Hi Everyone!  Today I want to show you how to make these fun St. Patrick's Day treat bags.  You just need a few supplies and you can make then fast and easy, and inexpensively too!  I used a bag of Jelly beans to create my rainbow, and the Stampin' Up! Pansy Punch for the shamrock.  The Stampin' Up! Pansy Punch has been around for a while, so maybe you have it in your punch stash?  If not, you should!  The Happy St. Patrick's Day stamp is from the set Teeny Tiny Wishes.  This is one of my oldest stamp sets and I hope that it doesn't get discontinued soon! It has 24 stamps for so many occasions!  The set has Mother's Day, Father's Day, Thanksgiving, Easter, retirement, and on and on!
This is another great product to add to your stamp collection.  Sale-a-Bration is going on, so you may want to get a few of those must have products now while you can also choose a FREE Sale-a-Bration product for each $50 you spend.
Click the Sale-a-Bration catalog on the right to see what's available.

Here is how I cut one of the petals from the Pansy Punch to create a shamrock.

Here is a link to another St. Patrick's Day project I made with the Pansy Punch a couple years back. St. Patrick's Day Hi
