Coffee Cafe stamp set, Painted with Real Coffee

Hi Everyone! I have a fun little card to share today.  I was super happy to see a coffee set in the new annual catalog and of course I had to add it to my first order. I am a Coffee addict! I have painted with coffee before, and knew I wanted to do it again with this new set.  The card even smells like coffee! Fun!
I started by stamping very lightly in crumb cake, then used a coffee paint I had made earlier.  To make the coffee paint, I added the last bit of coffee from the pot to a small watercolor paint pallet.  You can use a Styrofoam egg carton, a small saucer, ramekin, whatever.  Let it dehydrate, then add some more with your next  mornings coffee.  Do this for a few days and in the end you will have a little paint pot to use like a watercolor.

I love to watercolor, and using coffee is just another fun way to do it.  I first tried this in an adult art class I take while the kids are at school.  Shown here is a bigger coffee painting, and a little coffee comic I made in class last year.

I made a little video to show you step by step.  I hope that you will give it a try.

Little Mermaid ~ Message in a Bottle set

One of the stamp sets I was most excited to get is this Message in a Bottle stamp set.  I have an 8 year old daughter who just loves mermaids, so I knew this would be a fun set for her, but I also like all the other images as well as the sayings in this set.  So fun and cute!

My daughter has a birthday pool party tonight, so I was happy to get a change to use this set so soon.  Here is the card I made for the party.
I stamped the images on Shimmery White cardstock.  I love the extra shimmer it  has, and that it is sturdy enough for a card base and to withstand the Aqua Painters or Blender Pens.  For this card I used my Blender Pens.

The Foil Frenzy specialty paper is so fun! It has a Kraft base and bright foil patterns in Pool Party, Berry Burst, Lemon Lime twist and Tangerine Tango.
I added some strips behind the image for a fun shimmery look.

I added the new InColor bows because they are just so cute!!You get four of each color and they already have adhesive on the back so they are ready to go!

I made a quick video to show the step by step and the coloring process, check it out!

It's New Catalog Day!!

YAY!!  The day is finally here!!  I'm like a kid on Christmas morning!  I got up super early, made a cup of coffee and sat down at my desk to figure out my order so I am ready when it all goes live!
Have you had a chance to look through the catalog?  I have gone through it so many times!! I just love it! And I just love the new colors, don't you? They are so bright and fun, and rich. Really beautiful!
One of my favorites is this "Crafting Forever" stamp set. If you know me, you know my Aqua Painters are my favorite crafty tool, and this pot of brushes makes my heart happy!
I stamped the pot of brushes image with Archival Basic Black ink and colored them in with the watercolor pencils.  I then blended it all with my Aqua Painters.  I then made a background piece with a panel of watercolor paper and Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst ink. I am going to use this card to send in my summer payment to my daughter's Art Camp teacher.  I hope she likes it!

My first order of the catalog was a big one! How's your wish list looking? Big? Did you see that new stamp set with the dies that make it look like it's moving?  Amazing!!
