Cheery Chirps sneak peek

Hi Everyone! Today I would like to introduce you to the new Cheery Chirps stamp set from the Holiday Catalog.
I just love birds and I like to watch the large cardinal family in my yard, as well as all the little birds that visit all year.  I also thought this set was drawn so adorably! There are three birds and so I have created three cards, all watercolored.

This second one is in very bright non-realistic colors, and I think it's very fun.

The background is easy to do and looks great in person.

I created the background with my Aqua Painters by splattering the Wink of Stella pen over a still wet background.  I will have a how to video on this tomorrow.

And this last card uses some of my favorite colors.  Island Indigo, Lemon Lime Twist, and Crushed Curry.

Here is a video with some tips on using your Aqua Painters to color in this fun new stamp set.

Icing on the Cake birthday card

Hi Everyone! Yesterday I showed you how to make a scrapbook page with the Icing on the Cake stamp set. Today I thought I would share a Birthday card with that set as well. This is such a fun set for me.  I enjoy baking and I like to make cakes and cookies and cupcakes with my kids, and we always make homemade frosting, never from a can.

There are some two-step stamps to give a more realistic look to the frosting elements, such as the flower and leaves.
The stamp set is photopolymer so it was really easy to line up the  stamps make a longer row of icing.  There are several icing styles.  Here I used the pearls and loops, and I used the shells on the pink card.

My kids love big number candles on their cakes, so I had to do that here as well.  I cut out the numbers with the Large Numbers Framelits and added Dazzling Diamonds to make them sparkle.

Even the flame is made from the set. I used the smaller leaf background stamped in yellow, then added calypso coral to the make an oranger center.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed my project.

Birthday Scrapbook page

My wonderful Grandmother just turned 99 years old recently! I am so blessed to have her in my life and even in the lives of my children.  She has 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren! For this page I decided to make a Birthday Cake.  I made it match the cake in the picture and used the Icing on the Cake stamp set.  The images are exactly like frosting.
I used the Metallic Sequins pack, but only picked out the white and gold.

The stamps are photopolymer, so they are super easy to line up and get just right.

Here are some samples from the catalog! So fun! I love to bake, so I just love this stamp set.

I used the smaller leaf stamped in Daffodil Delight with a small line of  Tangerine Tango for the flame on my candle.

back to school teacher gift

Hi Everyone! Today I wanted to share some fun treat holders that I made for some Art Teachers my children had over the summer.  I decided to make another one for the new art teacher at our school and decided to film it as well so that you would have the directions.
This is not my invention, I found it on Pinterest and thought it was just so fun! I love to watercolor, I love treat holders, and I love my art teachers, so this was a perfect project for me.  The original designer's name is Dawn Thomas and here is her original post.  It is such an awesome little box! I reworked the directions a little bit, and used a new die for the ovals as the ones mentioned were no longer current products, but the look is the same.

It is really simple and I made a quick how to video for you to see it step by step.

Start with a piece of basic black cardstock at 5 1/4 by 8 1/2, which means you can get 2 from one sheet of cardstock!! Score as shown below.

I hope you will give this project a try.  I think it would be a nice teacher appreciation day treat as well. Here is the supply list.
