Hi everyone! Today I am sharing some projects that I made in hopes of becoming a Stampin' Up! Display Stamper for the upcoming On Stage event in Salt Lake City! This is my first time entering this contest and I have been creating up a storm! To enter we need to post three cards, two 3D projects and one scrapbook page. We are to put all six projects on one post, so today I will do that, then in the following days I will go into more detail on each project, with close ups and explanations.
Here is card Number One. I had to use Aqua Painters on one of my projects because they are my absolute favorite item in the catalog. I just love to color with them. The new "Helping Me Grow" stamp set was perfect to use with Aqua Painters. I think these flowers look like Cosmos, which I grow every year in the yard. My favorites are pink with yellow centers, so that is what I used here (Rose Red, Crushed Curry).
Card Number Two uses the new Rose Wonder Bundle. I needed a sympathy card this week, and thought this was a lovely set for just this purpose. I used just the pretty leaf on this card, both as a stencil and as an accent piece. I used a sponge to add Wild Wasabi ink around the leaf in a few areas, then adhered two leaves in front. The card base is Shimmery White Cardstock and the shimmer doesn't quite show up in the photograph but is really lovely in person. The scattering of rhinestones adds a dewiness to the scene.
This next card is for the mom in me. I love this little boy stamp from the Skating By Stamp Set, as I have two boys of my own.
I was actually thinking of my nephew Ryan as I painted the image. Ryan has the most beautiful blue eyes and a mop of brown hair. He just won a hockey tournament, so this is perfect for him!
The colors in the School House Designer Series Paper were great for the card (Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango).
For my first 3D project I made a fun backpack using the Gift Bag Punch Board. The cute little pocket in the front is just the right size for a Ghirardelli chocolate square. The bag can then hold some back to school cash for a student or a coffee shop gift card for a teacher! I used Pacific Point Cardstock and School House Designer Paper (of course!)
My daughter Jillian's birthday is coming up. Luckily for me, party favor projects are one of my favorite things to make. I made these cute party hat favors from the Cutie Pie Framelit Dies! The paper in the Cherry on Top Paper Stack is fun for a party and the Cherry on Top Cotton Paper Assortment is great for making pompoms and fringe! The box is the right size to add some chocolate kisses and little toy rings or those crazy erasers the kids love so much.
I went all black and white for my scrapbook page today! Unusual for my pages but so perfect for my Jillian's pictures. Elegant and adorable at the same time! The black ribbon across the page matches the ribbon across her dress while adding some texture. The stamped flowers down the side are from the Crazy About You Stamp Set and are embossed in White.
I wanted to mimic the flowers in her dress and used Scallop Circle Punches to make the daisy flowers. I slit each scallop to make a petal and added a black button to the centers. I have sort of an issue with naked buttons, so I added Baker's Twine to the centers.
I hope you like these projects and will come back in the next week to see how-to's and close ups of them in more detail.
Wish me luck on becoming a Display Stamper for the On Stage event in April!
