Flowers or Spring Blog Hop

Hi Everyone! Welcome to the April Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop! This month the theme is Flowers or Spring. Thankfully the weather has changed and if finally feels like spring around here.  I can't believe that just a little over a week ago we had snow in April, the ground was white. Today my daughter wore shorts to school and it was 5 degrees! Weather in Chicago-land.

For this month I choose to do Flowers. I got a new stamp set last weekend at the Stampin' Up! OnStage event, and I thought I would use it for my page this month. It is called To A Wild Rose.  It is a really pretty 2 step stamp set with a big beautiful rose, leaves, and pretty sentiments. There is a great matching die set too.  For this page, I focused on the big flower and leaves.  The photos are from my grandmother's 100th Birthday party. She loved roses, so the set is perfect for her.  She also loved pink and pearls.  This page is pure grandma.
I started with a base of Sahara Sand, and added a strip of cut out flowers at the top and more at the bottom from the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper.  I stamped Sahara Sand Flowers on the Sahara Sand background, and stamped more of the roses to cut out and add as accents on the page.

The Happy Birthday die is a nice size for scrapbook pages and so that it wouldn't get lost on the floral background, I added a piece of Whisper White cardstock cut with a new die collection called Nested Label Dies.
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog! Be sure to hop along and check out all the other April layouts!  If you like scrapbooking Join our Facebook Group, Scrapbooking Global - Stampin' Up!
