Nuts About Squirrels Bag-A-Lope treat bag

I wanted to make a little something to give a couple people that wasn't too sweet, not candy, so I thought of nuts.  Then as I was deciding how to decorate the treat bag I saw the Nuts About Squirrels stamp set and I was just so happy! These little squirrels are just so cute and perfect for my bags of nuts.

Ages ago, probably 12 years or more, I made a Bag-a-Lope at a Stamp Camp.  They are so fun and easy! I decided that it would be the perfect treat holder for this occasion.  Bag-a-Lopes are simple, just a few score lines and folds will turn a flat envelope into a stand up bag.

Here is a side view.  I scored 1/2 inch on my sides, but you could change it to make it wider at the sides. Just remember that when you make the bag wider at the sides, you then make it thinner across the front, because you are working within the confines of the size of the envelope.  Try different sizes of envelopes too!

I just love these little squirrels.  There are a ton of squirrels in our yard all the time.  In my normal spot at the table I can see a tree across the street.  It has a couple holes in it, I know that the city will cut it down one of these days but I hope not for a long time because the squirrels chase each other around the tree, in and out of the hollow holes, just about every day.

I mentioned in my video that I had a Black Squirrel in my yard a while back. I said I would post a photo here to show it if I could find the picture and I did find it! Yay. I don't see the black ones very often but every once and a while they show up.
