Valentine Treat Ideas with the Sweet Talk Designer Series Paper

 Hi everyone! Today I want to share some fun ways to package up some candy treats for Valentine's Day.

I used the super cute Sweet Talk Designer Series Paper on all my treat holders.   The paper is so cute! And when you are done with Valentine's Day, you will have some nice pattern sides to use all year. I also used a variety of boxes from Stampin' Up! 

 First I went really simple by just wrapping a box of candy with the paper.  I cut some of the little hearts from the patterned paper and used them to decorate a tag.  Add some ribbon or a sentiment if you like and you are done! This is great if you need to make a lot of treats to bring to work or hand out at school.

The paper in the Sweet Talk Designer Series Paper is perfect for wrapping the Conversation Hearts candy from Brachs.  I found these boxes in a ten pack from Target.

Next I wanted to try the new Sweet Little Boxes from Stampin' Up!   These are sold in the mini catalog. These boxes are food safe and come 10 for $10. And as a bonus, they already have the adhesive on the flaps for quick assembly. 

I was able to fit several types of candy in the boxes. I fit Hershey miniatures, mini peanut butter cups, Dove Hearts and Reese's Hearts and mini Kit Kat. Not too small to fit  your favorites but not too big that it will cost a lot to fill.  I added some designer paper to the front with a bit of Highland Heather Cardstock and Gorgeous Grape ribbon. Once again I cut some heart images from the designer paper to embellish the package.

Next I turned to the Acetate Boxes.  These are slightly larger than 3 x 3 inches and come in a pack of 10 for $6, making them very inexpensive to use.  I used them full size at first, then tried them cut in half to get even more bang for my buck.  

  For the full size boxes I made two versions. First a simple version where I wrapped the box and added a tag. Second I just covered the back with a flap around to the front and tied it closed with a ribbon and tag.

I wanted to use the Happy Valentine's Day stamp from the Sweet Conversations stamp set, but I felt it was too long.  I decided to turn the long horizontal stamp into a stacked word sentiment but selectively inking the words individually.  You can see how I did this in the video.

Next I tried making a box from Half the Acetate box.  I cut the box in half, the added a strip of Designer Series Paper across the back, long enough to flap over the front.  The paper was 3 1/16 by 5 1/2. I used a corner rounder on the front flaps. To keep the flap down over the opening, I used some cut out hearts, glued only at the bottom so the flap could tuck behind. I also added a ribbon strap to the sides to make the box look like a little purse.  You could go even further by wrapping the candy in the Designer Series Paper as well.
