Sale-A-Brate a Big Day

Hello everyone!  I am back with another Sale-A-Bration stamp set.  This one is called Big Day!  This set is a really fun birthday set, I know it will see a lot of use.  I made it have a chalkboard feel by stamping White Craft ink onto Basic Black card stock.  What do you think of that Bermuda Bay sequin trim?  I love it! So Fun!

I stamped the image a second time on Bermuda Bay card stock and cut out the banner.  It adds a fun pop of color.
That background paper is from Birthday Bash.  It looks like a scattering of confetti.  I used colors from the paper to make the card.  This version uses Calypso Coral and Bermuda Bay.

I used another stamp on the inside.

I choose colors for the card based on the background paper.  This card uses Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry.

For this version I made the card into a money or gift card holder.  To cut this card base cut your paper 11 by 5 1/2.  Score at 4 1/4 and 8 1/2.  You can then use the smaller flap to hold a check or money, or make an angle cut for a gift card.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Valentine's Treats ~ Paper Pumpkin style

Hi everyone!  I thought I would share this months My Paper Pumpkin since it is so perfect for this time of year.  And, I wanted to point out that you can purchase Past Paper Pumpkin kits and refills, when you are a My Paper Pumpkin subscriber.  You can see past kits in the online store under the kits tab.

Look at all that you get in the January My Paper Pumpkin!  24 treat bags and embellishments to dress them up, including cute clips to close them and Blushing Bride and Gold Bakers Twine.  So cute!  The refill kits do not include the stamp set and real red ink spot, but I bet  you have a stamp that you could use, or leave the hearts white, they are the perfect spot to write someones name.

You need to join My Paper Pumpkin by the 10th of each month in order to receive that months kit.  This was the January kit.  In the past few months we have had shaker cards, Holiday cards, and more. If there are kits left over, Stampin' Up! offers them to My Paper Pumpkin subscribers around the 21st (ish) of the month.  Sometimes the whole kit is available, sometimes just refills. These are great gifts and the refills are nice if you want to play around with the pieces and see what else you can come up with. In fact, there is a whole Pinterest page set up with alternate ways to use each kit!
To make My Paper Pumpkin even better, you can get Sale-A-Bration rewards when you pre-pay for 3 or more months.  Click here to see the pre-paid options.
And as always, please feel free to contact me with any questions.

You brighten my day

This card is all about Sale-A-Bration!  Do you know about the Stampin' Up! annual Sale-A-Bration promotion?  I hope you do, its a great time of year!!  For every $50 you spend, you get to choose an item out of the special Sale-A-Bration brochure!  And the special products are super cute!  There are stamp sets of course, but there are also special papers, a ribbon & button pack, Project Life by Stampin' Up card pack,  and even blendabilities!!   For this card I used the "You brighten my day" stamp set, as well as ribbon from the "Best Year Ever" accessory pack, and paper from the "Best Year Ever" paper pack.

After stamping the images in Black ink, I used a Sponge Dauber to add the lights "Glow" in Crushed Curry.  I also added a bit of Pool Party to the socket area, but you can hardly see it.

I used the corner rounder to round only the right bottom corners of both the main image panel and the card base.

I hope you like today's project!  Thanks for stopping by!!

I {heart} U

Hi everyone! Hope you are enjoying your week!  I had a chance to use some new products this week and I wanted to share this one with you before the week was over.
It was a really simple card to put together.  I used the new Happy Heart embossing folder as the main star of the card.  I really love the neat rows of hearts.  The small heart was made with the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack, it happens to fit perfectly.  I cut the letters out with the Little Letters thinlits dies.  I choose Blushing Bride as my accent color so that I could use the Blushing Bride Cotton Ribbon.  I have to admit that I didn't used to like Blushing Bride, I would always reach for a true pink like Pink Pirouette or Pretty in Pink, but I have really grown to like Blushing Bride and when I first got my 1/4 " cotton ribbon in Blushing Bride I just loved it, so pretty in person.

The splotch is made with the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.

I then ran the cardstock through the Texture Boutique with the Happy Hearts Embossing Folder.

Then I cut out my pieces.

I popped the main panel up a bit by using dimensionals to adhere the front to the card base.

I couldn't decide if the fact that the letters were taller bugged me or not.  So, I snipped them down.  This wouldn't work with all letters obviously but since it worked here I figured why not.

Hope you like it!
Thanks for stopping by!

Catalog copy ~ Lotus Blossom

Hello again everyone!  I wanted to show you this card that I made with the Lotus Blossom stamp set.  Some of you may think, "That card sure looks familiar."  Well that is because I copied it straight out of the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  Do you often copy cards from the catalog? I rarely do, but I really need to do it more often, why not make something that was obviously so pretty that it was published in the catalog right? And it helps give you a feel for the stamp and helps to jump start your creativity.  I love that little scrap of doily at the side, I will do that again for sure. I think the catalog may have used Whisper White as a base, but I decided to use Shimmer White as it is a bit heavier and I think it is so pretty.  The colors I choose for the Lotus Blossom are Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral, with a Wild Wasabi stem.  I also used embossing powder in Gold for the sentiment.

I love the embossed gold with the Fancy Foil vellum cardstock.  A hint, when adding the Fancy Foil vellum to your projects, you can minimize the look of adhesive by adding your adhesive in areas that wont show.  For this card the adhesive is hidden behind the main card base.

I hope that you will look through your Stampin' Up! catalogs and copy of few of your favorite cards.
Thanks for stopping by! Here is a How to video of the catalog card.
