Sweet Songbird Sneak Peek

Take a look at this adorable new stamp and punch bundle from Stampin' Up! The Sweet Songbirds bundle will be available in the new Annual Catalog which goes live on May 3rd.

This bundle is just so cute and I love the versatility of the sentiments!  The "a little bird told me..." can be paired with a couple different stamps.  I like the "you've got something to celebrate" because you can use that with birthday, job promotion, a new baby and more!

The punch can be used to punch out the stamped image of the larger bird, or it can be used to punch out the bird directly from cardstock.

Take a look at my how to video to see the punch in action and get a step by step how to for this card.

Here's a look at how I decorated the inside of the card.

Be sure to stop back on May 3rd when the new Annual Catalog goes live. I will have a link to the online catalog.

Lift the flap card

Hi Everyone. Today I want to share a card I made for my Card Buffet.  I wanted to add a little bit of fun to a card I saw on the 'Stampin' Through The Catalog' site on Facebook.  The 'Stampin' Through the Catalog' page is really great for inspiration and they work through all the stamps in the catalog one by one and make great samples. They invite you to share yours too.  They have a Pinterest page, Facebook page and Instagram. Check them out!

I saw this card with the truck with a bow and changed it up just a little to add the lift the flap.

You can see a full how to for this card on my YouTube Channel.

This is an easy card to make.  You can use any fun Designer Series papers to decorate the truck.  The Best Delivery Stamp set is from the January to June mini catalog.  Take a look at your stamp sets and see if there are any that would make a fun Lift the Flap card.

Here is what the inside looks like.

Celebrate Sunflowers Masking Technique

Hi everyone!

Recently Sara Douglass, Stampin' Up! CEO held a fund raiser for Lifting Hands International to benefit refugees of Ukraine on her Facebook page.  You can watch the replay here:

People from the Stampin' Up! home office made cards in the colors of the Ukrainian flag. It was a nice thing to participate in and it inspired me to make my own card inspired by the colors of the flag of Ukraine.

Here are the cards that were made during the fundraiser.

You can see a supply list and close ups of the projects here: https://su-media.s3.amazonaws.com/media/customer_site/Ukraine%20Fundraiser%20Cards/Ukraine%20Fundraiser%20Cards.pdf?fbclid=IwAR3bxFCxyypycm2Ib61SHafcSWJq7O-XkDhYt6xc8x6FsV1rRbpZTScr6wE

The sunflower is the national flower of Ukraine and  I thought it would be nice to sort of mimic the flag's blue and yellow with a see of sunflowers under a blue sky. Initially I used the idea for the background of my art journal, thinking I can journal in the sky area.  Once I was finished I thought it would also make for a pretty card, so I did that as well.

Masking is a simple technique. You can use a post it note or masking paper.  Stamp the image on the post-it note 'mask' several times and cut them out.

Place them over the stamped image that you don't want to cover.

Move the masks around as you need.

I hope you will give masking a try.

Below are some other examples of masking.

Here are some how to videos on the cards I've made.

Flowering Tulips Bundle

Hi Everyone! Today I thought I would share a card I made recently for a swap with a Spring Flower theme.

I loved the Tulip dies from the spring mini catalog, so when I saw the theme of the swap was flowers I knew what I wanted to use right away.

The dies for this set are really fun because they fold over each other to really give the look of layers of petals.

You can use the tulip stamps or the tulip dies, or even a combination of both, to create a pretty bouquet.  There are some nice sentiments with this set too.  They cover a lot of needs, such at Thank You and Birthday, but also Mother's Day and even some any occasion stamps like thinking of you.

Here is a close up of the petals.  I just love the variety of petals and the dimension you get from layering them.

Here I cut the petals from paper from the Flowering Fields Designer Series Paper.

I also used some Brushed Brass Butterflies (try saying that 5 times fast! I had a hard time saying it just once in my video!) to embellish the card just a little bit more!

Check out my video for a closer look at the dies and how they fold and work together.

I added the sentiment with some embossing on Vellum. I love the soft look that vellum adds to a card, and embossed sentiments always make the card look extra special.
