Sneak Peek at the Nature's Harvest stamp set

Hi Stampy friends! Today I have a series of cards with the Nature's Harvest stamp set.  This is a new set from the August-December mini catalog that starts on Aug. 3rd.   I really like the Coneflower stamp in the set.  I have them in my yard and I love to see the birds eat the seeds at the end of the summer.  They come in a variety of colors but the ones in my yard are closest to the Rich Razzleberry that I used here.

I can't share catalog images here, but I will add them after the 3rd.

I made this card to fit a color challenge in my Facebook Group. You can join the group here:  https://www.facebook.com/groups/bethspapercuts  I try to have a color challenge each month, as well as other challenges from time to time.  This group is for sharing ideas with Stampin' Up! products. You can share what you are working on as well.

I made a 'Simple to Super' progression of cards.   I wanted to make one without dies or lots of extras to show that you can make a very pretty card with just stamps, ink and paper.

To keep this first card simple I used only Fresh Freesia and Blackberry Bliss ink pads and Watercolor pencils.  Watercolor Pencils are a great addition to your craft supplies because you can get a lot of colors for little expense.  They are fun for lots of techniques too.

For this next version I added the Harvest Dies and some ribbon. I also embossed the sentiment.

On this final version I added even more dies to the background, and I colored the ribbon with Blackberry Bliss Stampin' Blends.

I created the background with stamps from the set, using Fresh Freesia ink on Fresh Freesia paper. To make the ink lighter I first stamped off on a scrap paper before stamping onto the Fresh Freesia.  I inked up the flowers with Blackberry Bliss and then colored the flowers with Watercolor Pencils.

Timeless Tropics Birthday Card

I wanted to make a special card for a special person, one with lots of personalized details. This card uses many techniques such as embossing with ink kissed Versamark, sponged and splattered background and custom colored ribbon.

The colors I choose for this card are newer colors to the Stampin' Up! line up. I used Pale Papaya, Polished Pink, Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent.

I used the Timeless Tropical stamp set for this card.  Timeless Tropical is a great set for your collection because it has pretty images as well as a nice variety of sentiments.

I made a custom ribbon by coloring one edge of the Pale Papaya Ribbon with a Polished Pink marker.  I had always thought of coloring white ribbons before, but recently saw another Demonstrator, Patty Bennett, coloring her Pale Papaya ribbon! How simple!  Think of other light color ribbons you have and what darker colored markers you could use to customize them! The possibilities are endless.

For the background I sponged on Pale Papaya and Polished Pink using Blending Brushes. I then used a paint brush and splattered water across the background.  The water will push aside the ink and leave this fun splattered background.

Something that I can't get across in my photos is the embossing on the Hibiscus. If you have been stamping with Stampin' Up! as long as I have, you may remember colored embossing powders.  Now we only have metallics and basic white, black and clear.  But, you can get the colored embossing powder look by inking up your stamp with versamark, then kissing the stamp onto some ink, then using clear embossing powder.

There is a die set to cut out the large flower and leaves. The die set also has lots of bonus dies such as little leaves and flowers that I have used on the front and inside of the card. There is also a fun big pinapple, that I have used on treat holders in the past, you can see it here: https://bethrush-bethspapercuts.blogspot.com/2020/05/pineapple-treat-holder.html

I really love these dies.  There are a lot of extras and I really like that cute 'aloha'.

The stamp set is really pretty and there is a nice variety of sentiments for many occasions.
