Coloring your images with Soft Pastels and a cotton swab

Hi Stamping Friends.  Today I am showing a fun card using the Soft Pastels.  It is so easy to color your stamped images with just a little bit of the Soft Pastels and a Cotton Swab.

These samples use the Forever Blossoms stamp set and coordinating Cherry Blossoms dies.  I also added a white scalloped rectangle mat behind the floral branch cut from the Scalloped Contours Dies.

I created a how to video for this card that shows this technique in full.

This first card uses Poppy Parade for the base. I added a strip of Designer Series Paper in Poppy Parade for some texture.  Did you know that Stampin' Up! sells tone on tone patterned paper in EVERY color they have?  These are great to have on hand because you know then that you will always have a designer paper to fit your need.  They are sold in color family packs.  Each pack has 4 sheets of each color in a 6 x 6 inch size, for a total of 40 sheets.  The In Color packs have 8 sheets of each color since those color families only have 5 colors.

I used Early Espresso for the senitment, which I embossed with White Embossing Powder.  I also added a sweet little linen bow.

My color challenge at my Facebook group is Poppy Parade, Petal Pink and Early Espresso. If you like to take part in card challenges, join my Beth's Paper Cuts Idea Sharing Group on Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/groups/bethspapercuts

This second card used Petal Pink in place of the Poppy Parade for a softer look.  Everything else is the same.
