Enjoy the Little Things ~ Layering Love stamp set

Hello everyone!  Tomorrow is Memorial Day and my family and I will be out marching in the town parade.  My oldest will march with the band and my husband and middle child will march with the cub scouts and my daughter and I are debating whether to be spectators or marchers and go with the scouts.  We will also be having burgers and apple pie, s'mores and potato chips. I love the little things like town parades and apple pie don't you?  Some of you know that my husband served in Iraq and so Memorial Day is a special day to remember loss as well and those special things like parades and s'mores help to make the day a happier one.

I received a swap card from Jeanna Bohanon that featured this stamp from Layering Love and I knew I had to make one like it.  She used some different papers and Washi tape but the design is basically the same.  Jeanna and I were both part of a group of demonstrators who were display stampers for the recent Stampin' Up! event. We all got together to create a Pinterest page that features cards that we made for the event.  You can see all the cards here, as well as the fun card by Jeanna  that inspired mine.
I used papers from the new Designer series paper 'Pop of Pink'.  This is a really fun paper pack and I know I will be using it often.

The Washi tape is also from the Pop of Pink collection.  I love the little tiny hearts in Melon Mambo and Basic Black.

I added some Whisper White cardstock to the insides of the cards and dressed them up with more Washi tape at the bottom.

The Layering Love stamp set features large sentiment stamps, great for cards as well as home decor and scrapbook pages.  You can see the full set on June 1st when the catalog goes live!  I hope you will check it out!  Let me know if you need a copy!!
Thanks for stopping by!

Join Now Promotion!! More Stamps!

Hi Everyone!! I am so excited to share this new promotion from Stampin' Up!  Have you ever thought about becoming a demonstrator?  Even just for a minute?   Sure you have!  You are a crafter, you love it, you want more!  So what is holding you back?  Maybe you think it is a big commitment? Maybe you think you HAVE to buy more? Maybe you are unsure if you can still come to my classes? Maybe you just want to stamp on your own or don't want to actually 'demonstrate' anything? Those are all understandable, but I would like you to know that there is no commitment, you can stop at ANY time, and you can still come to stamp camp. I love my demos to still come to classes and I want more of you to come to Stampin' Up! events with me too!! Next one is in Madison Wisconsin in November! Who's coming?  You don't have to 'demonstrate anything,  you can still stamp on your own if you want. Stampin' Up! loves both the hobbyist and the business minded Demonstrator.  You CAN be your only customer.   One of the great things about being an independent demonstrator is that you can do this YOUR WAY.  When I first started, I was my only customer.  I had a 4 year old and a husband in fighting in Iraq.  Stampin' Up! was my escape and a way to scrapbook what was happening with our son while my husband was away.  Two more kids later and I enjoyed the time away from kids just being with other people (grownups!!) doing something I love.  Kids are now in school and I have a growing business and earn money for fun things as well as my stamping supplies.  I would love to be your creative coach as well as someone who helps you meet your goals, even if your goal is just to make some cute cards for Teacher appreciation, or to make some money.  I can keep in contact with you as much or as little as you want. You don't need to live in my neighborhood.  We can chat on the phone, online through email, Facebook or Skype, you name it.  Some in my downline just contact me if they are looking for how to make something they saw online, and they do not want business coaching. Some want to navigate the loads of resources Stampin' Up! provides on the web, and I am happy to help you figure it all out.  Some want to meet up and discuss how to plan an event or what to make for a craft fair.  Some want to know how to make more money.   But, they all have one thing in common, the love for Stampin' Up! products and the desire to save on great Stamping supplies!!

During the month of JUNE new demonstrators can choose 2 free stamp sets of any price!!!!
That is in addition to the rest of the great deal that is the STARTER KIT!  The starter kit contains $125 worth of product of your choice as well as a free My Paper Pumpkin kit to try!
The most expensive stamp set I saw in the catalog was the Letters for You set at $49!!!  You can get that for FREE!!! as well as another set!     You will also get some business supplies thrown in as well, such as a box of catalogs, promotional postcards, order forms, and the whole thing ships FREE!
I agree with all 7 of those reasons whole heatedly! But there is so much more.  I have new friends coast to coast through the online community of stampers.  I get access to online inspiration from the Stampin' Up! demonstrator web community, and I achieve goals and have accomplishments that make me happy!
What are you waiting for??  Well, June 1st, but other than that?
If you have a copy of the new catalog you can start planning what you will choose for your $125 worth of products for just $99!   and contact me with ANY questions you may have about being a demonstrator!!
The new catalog is AMAZING and really full of great new products!  Don't have one? Contact me www.bethrush@issinternet.com
It will be available to view online June 1st!!

Gift Bag Die

Have you ever used the Gift Bag Dies?  They are really fun and to make!  And, what you may not know is that they are sized to fit into an envelope!  So you can use it as a gift bag filled with treats, or as a fun version of a card.
Back in early April I needed to make some projects using the current In-Color collection and some carry over products to use for a Stampin' Up! display.  I needed to make 20 projects and I made many more so that I could choose which ones to bring.  I ended up not using these gift bags for the display and then forgot to show them on my blog. I was putting some to use this week, one for a grad gift (the stars) and one for a teacher (the flowers) and so I thought I better blog them before they all get sent away!

I used stamps and dies that were meant to go together with the gift bag dies.  The stamp set is called You're So Sweet and I love the Heart and star!! So fun.

See the Black twine on the Just for you and the Mint twine on the mint bag?  Those are both from the black and mint twisted twine that I separated into two separate colors. This was a good way to use this twine and make it a little thinner to use as an accent.

The little flowers are from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and is being discontinued!! (insert sad face)  I use this little flower all the time.  If you think you may want this punch pack, grab it fast, it is on a 'While Supplies Last' list!!

As I mentioned, the gift bags can fit into an envelope.  I dressed the envelope up a bit by tracing the flap onto some designer series paper.

I cut the traced piece out and glue it to the envelope.

i only added glue to the edges of the flap so that it would not add too much bulk and so that the edges would not get caught in the mail processing machines.

I made a card insert for the gift bags and added my notes and a gift card.

Right now you can get the gift bag die set and the stamp set as a bundle!  Bundles let you save 15% !!  When the new catalog comes out these items will be in it, but they will be separate items, so now is a great time to grab it!
The dies come with the heart and star, the washi tape piece, the little cut out strips (one is a hear, one a star and one circles) and the bow, as well as enjoy and for you.  Great for use on other cards and scrapbook pages!!

Simple Thanks ~ Watercolor Wings

Hi everyone! I thought I would share some simple thank you cards that went out this week for some online orders.  I used some beautiful paper from the Pretty Petals designer series paper stack.  Are you familiar with Stampin' Up's paper stacks?  A lot of Stampin' Up! designer paper is sold in packs of 12 sheets and it is 12 x 12inches, but there is a selection of paper stacks that are 6 inches by 6 and the packs contain 48 sheets for $8.00!!  These are really fun packs and you get a lot of bang for your buck.  The current offering is due to retire in just 2 weeks and so I thought I would get it out and choose some.  I let the papers dictate the color combination and even the stamp set.  The colors here are Pacific Point and Calypso Coral with Very Vanilla.

I started by first stamping the base layer for the butterfly in Calypso Coral, stamped off once on my scrap paper.   By stamped off  I mean that I inked the stamp up full strength, then stamped once onto scrap paper before stamping onto the Very Vanilla cardstock.

Next I stamped the butterfly wing details with Calypso Coral at full strength.  This set comes with a couple options for the wing details and you can layer them both of just use one.  You can also use multiple colors instead of monochromatic as I have done.

Finally I added the body and antenna.

For this card I added the Just for You on a strip with a little notched flag end.  I also added a cute little Calypso Coral button, soon to be discontinued,  I used some Calypso Coral twine, with the white stand removed, to tie my button.  For some reason I can't stand to have buttons that are empty, silly I know but I need to put something in the buttons :)

For this card I added the 'Just for you' in a set of Oval punches.  These are being discontinued too!!  I reach for these two all the time because they tend to work so nicely for sentiments, not too big, not too small, just right.  Anyone coming to my annual retired products sale (most likely June 4th) you will not see these up for sale, I am going to hang onto them.  Stampin' Up! is coming out with a new oval framelit collection, which is really great and I will get it, but I just love being able to reach for a punch to make a quick sentiment piece and these are an easy go to.  Agree, then snatch them up quickly before it is too late!!  Punches are selling out quickly.  While you are there, get the Itty Bitty Accents Punch pack and the Party Punch packs before they are gone.  Those are on my must have list for sure!  The little flower on this card is from the Tree Builder punch! another great punch that thankfully is not going away with the new catalog!
When cutting down the designer paper for the front of the card I was left with a little scrap which I decided to use on the inside just for fun.  After all, I am a scrapbooker and I do like to use my scraps!

Thanks for stopping by!!
