Last Day of Sale-A-Bration!

Saturday is the final day of Sale-a-Bration!  This is a great time to stock up on paper, get some new punches, or add to your stamps collection!  If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or click the shop now button at the top of the blog!

Bunny Home

I saw THIS super cute Easter card and had to make one too!
This is  the outside, you can see the bunny hoping into his hole.  I used the 1 3/4  circle punch (body), oval punches (feet) and the Boho Blossom Punch (tail).  The Happy Easter sign is the word window punch and the modern label punch, stamped with Teeny Tiny Wishes. The clouds are the icing from the cupcake builder punch.  I stamped the tree with the woodgrain background stamp. Grass is from the Scallop Border Punch.

Here you see the inside, with his cute bunny face.  I made the face the same way I made it on This Bunny Candy Bar , except that I added some front paws with the modern label punch.
Kind of a lot of work, but really cute in the end!
And, speaking of really cute, I received this really cute card from my fellow stamping friend Lois Mueller.  She used her computer to add my family's names to the eggs, and made a spinner card like one we made at the Christmas in July class.
I love the textured grass at the bottom, and on the inside, the egg with her and her husband's picture.
And, look what it says on the back! We can al relate to that, huh?
Super cute Lois!! Thank you!!

Corner Punch Cross

A stamper friend of mine, Lois Allen, showed me how to make a cross using the Scallop Trim Corner Punch and the straight Scallop Trim Border Punch.  I love the look of this! I have a lot of pictures to show how to do it, so sorry, but I think that pictures are easier than words in this case :)

You start with a piece of thin paper, I used Designer Series Paper, Card Stock is too thick.  My piece measures 4 1/4 by 3.  Fold the piece in half lengthwise, then fold a flap down at 1 3/4 inches.  Punch out the corner of the folded side, this is hard, you need to give it a lot of umph!
This is what you get so far.  Pretty cool huh?  Next you need to fold it in half again, but not that top flap, just the lengthwise fold.  Use your straight Scallop Trim Border Punch to add two more scallops to the bottom of the cross.
Now you have your cross.  Love it!  We played around with doing this with only the Straight Scallop Trim Border punch, and that works too, but then you don't get the pointy ends to the top and sides of the cross.
I decorated the cross with some pastel flowers.  This has a lot of pictures too.  I wanted the flowers to have a softer look, so I made them look light and feathery by separating the layers of card stock.
First, I punched out flowers with the Boho Blossom Punch.  Next I rolled the flowers up in a ball and sprayed them with the stamping mist that I have sitting on my desk.  You can spray with water, too.  I then opened up the rolled up flowers, looking for an area that is coming apart.  Tear the paper apart carefully.  Now your one flower, has become two!

See how pretty the separated ones are!  They give the flowers a completely different look.  Yesterday's project used the flowers as is, and I liked that look too.  I like that you can get a different feel from the same product.   I sponged the edges of the flowers with matching ink so that when the flowers are layered, you can see the petal details.  I glued them together with tombo multi purpose glue, and added a pearl to their centers.
I wanted the cross to stand off the background, so I used dimensionals to pop it up.  I sort of used a lot of them because of the folded paper, it wanted to fold in and I wanted it to stay up.  I layered the cross on some Crumb Cake that I embossed with the Tulip Frame Embossing Folder.  To make the Embossing really show up, I used a sponge to add some ink to the raised image.
The Happy Easter tag is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  I made the tags with a scrap of paper, and attached them with a vintage trinket safety pin.  The ribbon is Baja Breeze Seam Binding Ribbon.  I balled the ribbon up to give it a distressed look.
I hope you like today's project!  Lots of steps but worth it in the end!

A Tisket a Tasket

A little Easter Basket!
This basket was inspired by a project made by a fellow stampin' friend Linda Budzik.  Its such a quick and cute little basket, I had to make some for myself.  It starts off as a scallop square from the Big shot, a must have tool for sure.  You also need a strip of paper, mine is half an inch wide by 8 1/2 in long.  This will be the  handle.   The Square is scored in between the third and forth scallop one one side of the square, and between the second and third scallop on the other sides.
Cut a slit along the shortest score lines and fold up your box.  Punch a small hole where the box comes together, as well as in the ends of your handle. Use brads to attach the handle to your basket.  I didn't use any adhesive on the box, the brads will hold it all together.   I added some taffeta ribbon bows to the sides of the handle to make it extra frilly.  I then made some flowers with the Boho Blossoms Punch and punched some leaves from the Bird Builder Punch to embellish the front of my basket.  There are also some pearls in the center of the flowers.  The Happy Easter tag is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set, another must have in my opinion :)  I just cut the tag from some scraps of paper.
Lots of pictures in today's blog, I know.  But I'm a visual learner and like to see instead of read, how to make things, so I figure there are others like me out there who would like pictures too.

Zachyisms

This is a page from the online "My Digital Studio" class that I'm taking.  This was a really fun page, but it took longer than most because of all the text boxes and grouping of objects.   I really like how it turned out though.  If you would like information about My Digital Studio software from Stampin' Up! contact me, I would be happy to help you.
And, don't forget...
There are only 9 more days of Sale-a-Bration!

Spring Flowers!

We have some new neighbors and my son Zachary has spied a little boy on a scooter.  He wants to go and say hello, so I thought we should bring some cookies (any excuse to bake is good for me!)  The weather lately is amazing, so I just couldn't do heavy cookies.  I went with a light butter cookie and cut them into flowers.  Frosted with powdered sugar icing and done! YUM!
I had to make a cute tag too.  I love this new flower stamp set and matching punch.  They are from the spring mini catalog. The stamp set is called Mixed Bunch, the punch is called Blossom.  Love them.  Colors are Pretty in Pink and Daffodil Delight.
Only ten more days of Sale-a-Bration!  If there were some items you were thinking of getting, now is a great time! Contact me for more details or with any questoins! Have a Great day!

Cicadas!

Do you live in a Cicada area?  If you don't know, then you don't live in Cicada country because they were all over the place!  This was several years ago, but I'm a bit behind in my scrapbooking! I like this page layout because I can put a lot of photos on it, sometimes its hard to chose which pictures to use and which to leave out.  This is a layout from the "My Digital Studio Made Simple" class I'm taking.  More details here if you would like to join the fun!  Thanks for stopping by!

Punch Art Bunny

Are you a "Punchaholic"?   I am.  I love paper punches!  Today I made an Easter treat with all sorts of paper punches.   The head is made with the Ornament Punch, the ears are from the Blossom Builder Punch, the nose is from the Heart to Heart Punch, and i used several sizes of circles.  I made the tag with two sized of the tag punch, and the Boho Blossoms Punch.  The candy bar is wrapped in pretty in pink Designer Series paper, and the tag is attached with Pretty in Pink Taffeta Ribbon.

Did you know that the clearance Rack has Punches 60% off?
A while back Stampin' UP! changed the style of punches they carry.  The older style is available on the clearance rack.  Last time I was there (yesterday ) they had a lot of styles.  5-petal flower, Boho Blossom, Double Cog, Eyelet Border, Full Heart, Heart to Heart, Jumbo Snowflake, Large Oval, Scallop Oval, Scallop Circle, Scallop Edge, Scallop Square, and Small Tag.  And...

Cousins

Another Digital Page!  This one uses downloads from the Tickets and Tags collection.  That's my Jillian in the middle, with her two girl cousins Maggie and Sydney.  This was taken on the forth of July last year.  I love that our family gets together so often and that the cousins have a close relationship.  This is a layout from the online class I'm taking using Stampin' UP's My Digital Studio.  If you are interested in purchasing My Digital Studio, please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.  I am loving using the software, and would be happy to share it with you.  If you already have it and would like to learn more, you can sign up for Heathers Online Class too.  She is thinking of extending it another month due to positive response.  The class started on February 20th, and the online site will be available to use until June, so even if you can't do it every day, you have plenty of time to check out all the great video tutorials, and if Heather extends the class, even longer!

Another take

I took Kathy's layout from yesterday and made it in a darker blue version.  I really wanted to use my denim ribbon :)  My main image is stamped on a cut out from the Labels Collection Framelits Dies.  The stamps are from Vintage Vogue stamp set.  I used Night of Navy, Always Artichoke, and Crumb Cake.  The patterned paper is Well Worn.  I used brads from the Vintage Trinkets and Antique Brads Embellishments.  This time, the tiny tag is a "Mini Vintage Tag".  I thought it worked nicely because it has a slightly rusty look to it, which works well with the rusty colors in the paper.
I made a faux bow by wrapping a piece of denim ribbon around the cardstock and adhering the ends with glue dots.  Next I cut small scraps of ribbon in both the Denim and Crochet Trim and tied them around the wrapped piece of denim.  This way you get your knot exactly where you want it.
I then glued the finished card front onto a card base of Crumb Cake.
I have to admit, I like Kathy's cheery version better :)  but I am happy with how this one turned out.
