Best Catch Take Two

Hi Everyone!  If you saw my last 'Best Catch' card, you saw that I made a lot of cut outs with the Stitched Rectangle Framelits.  Well, I cut twenty of those cards, so I had a lot of rectangles in Wood Textures, Tranquil Tide, and Early Espresso, so I needed to do something with them!   I used the various rectangles to make this second version of the Best Catch Card.
I really enjoyed coloring the fish, and so I made another video with that as the focus.  I used Aqua Painters and Tranquil Tide, Berry Burst, and Lemon Lime Twist ink to color the fist.  I also used the Crackle Paint background stamp set on the Tranquil Tide rectangle.

Hedgehugs

I completely fell in love with the Painted Seasons paper that is offered right now during Sale-a-Bration. The colors and images as well as patterns on the back, are all so right up my alley.  I love the mushrooms the most and looked for stamp sets to pair up with it right away.  I thought about Foxy Friends and Hedgehugs, maybe Fable Friends too.   This is one of the cards we made at Stamp Camp last weekend.  I thought it was pretty cute and I hope people liked it.  I made a little video how to:
The colors are Poppy Parade and Soft Suede. Poppy Parade was an InColor several years back and I really liked it, so I was so happy that it was added to the core color line up.  I used some Poppy Parade ribbon with a little bow of Linen Thread.  I didn't want to cover up a lot of the paper with a large bow or by wrapping the ribbon all around the card, so a little bit in the corner adds another touch of texture without overwhelming the card.
Inside I used markers to get three colors on the mushroom stamp, Poppy Parade, Soft Suede, Garden Green.  The Happy Birthday stamps are from Perennial Birthday.
There are just a few days left of Sale-a-Bration.  Spend $50 and get the Painted Seasons paper FREE.

Piece of Cake

Hi everyone. Today I thought I would share a card I  made for my daughter's Birthday party invitations. I used the Piece of Cake bundle to make them.  I love any stamp that has a matching paper punch! Don't you?  They just make stamping so much fun.
This punch punches out the two tired cake, as well as the cake stand! Love it. I used a bright a cherry Berry Burst for the card, as my daughter really liked this color.
I also made a version in Lemon Lime Twist that I thought I would make for a swap.   I can't decide which version I like better.
The Dot to Dot embossing folder was a fun background and it plays nicely off the dots on the bottom tier of the cake. I also used the Stitched Labels Framelits dies to anchor the cake to. I love these dies and here it just dresses up the card a bit. I also like to thread ribbon through the lacy sides of the die cut.  Here is a quick how to video for this project.

I love the watercolor wash background behind the cake, it makes it feel soft and dreamy.  I added ribbon in Berry Burst to both versions, one Ruffled Edge Ribbon and the other has a pretty Metallic Edge. On the inside I added a strip of paper that had Lemon Lime Twist in it. It is from the Broadway Birthday paper pack. I love using up scraps, and adding little strips of pattern to the insides of my cards helps me use them up.
