Removable Bookmark Card

Hi Everyone. Today I am sharing a card from my Team Swap.  The theme this month was Tags.  I right away thought of a bookmark.  I wanted to make a card that had an easily removable bookmark and still be simple to make since I needed to make several.

Well, I achieved the 'simple' with the design but then I took it a step further by Paper Piecing the image :)  Paper Piecing is when you stamp an image onto multiple pieces of patterned paper and cut the pieces out. next you piece all the images back together on top of a final stamped image. Even thought I wanted simple,  I couldn't help it, this set is PERFECT for paper piecing. This set is called 'In the Moment' and I have used it quite a bit.  In the close up on the left you can see the Paper Piecing.  That is so fun to do, as long as you don't mind cutting.  I used paper from the Pattern Play designer series paper pack.

The bookmark is two layers, so that it can fit over  a paper strip that will hold it in place. Here you can see how the bookmark easily slides onto paper band

I also added a sentiment behind the bookmark so that once the bookmark is removed, the card is not blank. See full how to with measurements in the video below.

Here is another card that uses the In The Moment stamp set and Paper Piecing.  I made this card for a Tutorial on SplitcoastStampers. You can find the tutorial on their YouTube Channel.

Here are a couple more.  These were from a Mystery Kit Challenge and I have a Video for this one on my YouTube Channel here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I56QaQatNgo&t=121s

As you can see, I really like this stamp set!

Guest Tutorial Writer for SplitCoastStampers today

Hi Everyone!  I am the Guest Tutorial Writer at SplitCoastStampers today. Yay! so fun! I love that site and so whenever they ask me to do a tutorial I always say yes! If you are not familiar with the site, I recommend checking them out.  They do tutorials every Wednesday, and there is a huge Gallery of projects alphabetized by the name of the Stamp Set.  They have samples for every stamp set that Stampin' Up! has ever made! You can also start your own gallery for the cards you've made.  Here is a link to their site.    Here is a link to my Gallery too.

I was asked to make a tutorial for a card I made a couple months ago using the Tied Back Curtain Technique.  You can see my tutorial here: https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/tiebackcurtain

Here are the cards that I made to show this technique.

The first two use a new stamp set called In The Moment. This will be a fun stamp set for coloring techniques too.

Next I went with this cute Puffin from the Party Puffins stamp set.  He looked like he was taking a bow so I thought he would look great on a stage.

And here is a card that I made with this technique a while back.  You can see the how to video for this card here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1Fud4SsZnY&t=651s

Nuts and Bolts stamp set

I really enjoyed creating cards with the Nuts and Bolts stamp set.  The images were so cute and fun to work with.  The stamp set is great for kids but also for any gear-head or kid at heart.

The sentiments are great for Valentine's Day but also all year round with the ' Greetings Kind Human' and HB2U for Birthdays.  I used absolutely every stamp in the set on my cards.

First up I made a copy of the catalog sample, with some minor adjustments. First, I embossed the robots and sentiment with Black Embossing Powder.   Next I cut a tag for my sentiment from a piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock. I used the area I cut from to sponge some ink over the robots in Granny Apple Green and Magenta Madness ink.

I stamped some random hearts in Magenta Madness around the background. I also added some Classic Mat Dots scattered around on the card.

I added another sentiment to the inside and stamped some hearts around the inside as well.

This next card has a Valentine feel with the addition of some punched out hearts. I colored the little robot with Stampin' Blends and added some designer series paper from the Sweet Talk Designer Series Paper pack.

The inside of the card has another little robot.  So cute!

See how to make these first two cards in the video below.

Next up I wanted to make some cards that didn't feel so Valentine's Day-ish.

This card can be used for just about anything, you can add a birthday greeting inside, or a hello, thanks, just about anything will work.

The second card us a fun little Birthday card.

I used the little shadow stamp to make a sort of hashtag looking background with Gray Granite ink on Gray Granite cardstock. I used Denim Ribbon for a fun accent as well as some on the Classic Mat Dots.

This next card was fun. I wanted to make this little guy rusty so I added some Cinnamon Cider to the Balmy Blue, with just a tiny touch of Granny Apple Green.
