Kitty in a Tree Christmas Card
While browsing on Pinterest I spotted the perfect card to sum up this week at our house. A cat in a Christmas tree! The card was by Christy's Stamping Spot and you can see it here: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/339458890673223949/
I loved the idea and immediately whipped up this version of Christy's card, changing it only slightly to fit with papers and dies I had on hand. It's such a fun card, I love it!
The stamp set with the cat is called Clever Cats from Stampin' Up! The sentiment originally reads 'Have a purr-fect Halloween' but I left off the Halloween and added a Christmas stamp from the 'Christmas to Remember' stamp set.
I really wanted to share Christy's fun card. I checked the inventory list at Stampin' Up! to see if the Christmas Trees dies were still available since I knew they were on the retirement list, and sure enough, they are all sold out!! Bummer! I didn't want to share a card made with supplies that were no longer available, so I looked again at my stash.
The Clever Cats stamp set is currently 'While Supplies Last' so act quickly if you want to get that one!
I changed up the paper to use a still available pattern pack. I also changed the tree die to a Stitched Triangle die, you could also just cut a triangle, but I do love that stitched edge.
For ornaments I went with some fun sequins and some gold trim for garland.
The inside of the card also uses a sentiment from the Christmas to remember stamp set. I also added another cat from the Clever Cats stamp set. I stamped the cat image a second time on Kraft paper and cut out the box to lay over the stamped box.
Take a look at the how to video for a step by step tutorial for this card.
And here is a video that shows my cat Trixie in action in our tree!

Peppermint Mocha treat packaging
My past posts have mostly been all about the Gingerbread part of the 'Gingerbread and Peppermint, so I am happy to be able to show you something with the Peppermint part!
I love coffee and anything even slightly coffee, so I tend to make packaging for the Starbucks instant coffees. I did a similar treat for the Pumpkin Spice using the Pretty Pumpkins stamps, and today I changed it up for the Peppermint Mochas. My thoughts on treat packaging is the keep it simple. Yes I want it to be eye catching, but I also know that the treat will get eaten and the wrap probably tossed.
The Gingerbread and Peppermint Designer Series Paper is so fun for treat packaging. I used some simple patterns to decorate the pouch and then cut out some of the peppermint candies to embellish.
The Frosted Gingerbread stamp set had the perfect Sentiment for this "Sending you Peppermint Kisses". You could also substitute with another Christmas stamp. Use paper punches to cut out the candies or the dies that go with the stamp also comes with a variety of circle cut outs to use.
Take a look at the how to video for step by step directions and measurements.

Gingerbread Kit Kats? YES Please!
Don't you love the seasonal candy that comes out each year? I usually look for any new Hersey Kiss flavors or wrapping colors to dictate what my treat packaging will look like. This year I found the new flavor to be a KitKat! Gingerbread KitKat! How fun! We tried them and my daughter gave them a thumbs up. Of course right away I knew that I needed to use the Gingerbread and Peppermint designer series paper for my packaging.
This treat box goes together so fast because the box is all done for you! These are the 3 1/8 by 3 1/8 Acetate Boxes. I just added a strip of the cute gingerbread paper to the back with a little more to fold over the top. The pattern to the paper is super cute for cutting the zigzag edge. I used the Frosted Gingerbread stamp set for the tag.

Treat Packaging with the Gingerbread and Peppermint suite
Hi Everyone! I am still playing around with the Gingerbread and Peppermint Suite. This time I am focusing on Treat Packaging. I LOVE to bake and I always bake up a ton of cookies for Christmas to give to friends and family and neighbors. The Gingerbread and Peppermint suite of products is PERFECT for treat packing, even if you are not making Gingerbread!
Today I thought I would show three different ways to package some cookies, from super simple to slightly more involved.
First up is a simple bag topper. I used Stampin' Up! 6 by 8 cellophane bags. To create the topper I cut a piece of Real Red Cardstock at 6 by 4 and scored it in half. I then cut a piece of Basic White at 5 3/4 by 1 3/4 and stamped my sentiment on the right side. I embellished the topper with some cut out cookie images from the Gingerbread and Peppermint Designer Series Paper.
I love these Kraft boxes from Stampin' Up! The window is super cute for showing off what's inside and they come with the adhesive already on them so they are fast and easy to use. They are food safe too! I added the 'icing' with Embossing Paste to add to the Gingerbread look.
Lastly I thought I would show how to dress up some inexpensive Take Out containers. I bought these at the grocery store. They are super basic so I spruced them up with some Real Red Cardstock and embellishments from the Gingerbread and Peppermint Memories and More Pack. This card pack is super cute with pieces perfect for treat giving and even recipe cards to add to the package.
The Gingerbread and Peppermint Memories and More pack has 6 card pieces, 4 sticker sheets and 6 cooling racks. Use them for scrapbook pages featuring Holiday baking, gingerbread houses and all round Christmas fun.
This suite is retiring and currently 'While Supplies Last' so act quickly.
Here is a how to video for the projects shown today.

Gift Card Holder with cut out from the Gingerbread and Peppermint Designer Series Paper
Hi everyone! I am finally playing around with the Gingerbread and Peppermint suite of products from Stampin' Up! I bought this whole suite right away when the Holiday catalog first came out, knowing that I would use it a ton for gift giving projects. I wasn't quite ready for baking and thinking about shopping until after Thanksgiving, so now I am finally getting around to using them!
First up, a gift card holder! I have made a similar gift card holder in the past with a mitten stamp, (here is that post) so I was super excited to see mitten cookies!! How cute! They were easy to cut out and worked perfectly to hold the gift card.
I also cut out some smaller cookies for the inside of the card.
See full how to for this card in my video below:
For some added fun I also used Embossing paste as "icing" for my card.
The Gingerbread and Peppermint Designer Series Paper is full of easy to cut out cookies that will be great for tags, cards and scrapbook pages. I am going to use them mostly for packaging! I give cookies to my friends and neighbors every year and this suite is going to be used for cute treat packaging!
Gingerbread and Peppermint designer series paper.
Gingerbread and Peppermint Memories and more pack. This pack has great pieces to use as card elements or on scrapbook pages. My favorite pieces are the cooling racks (you get6!) and little oven mitts!!
These products retire at the end of the month and are currently while supplies last, so shop right away if you would like to get some of these pieces.
