Welcome Words

Hi Everyone.  Today I am showing a page and quick cards I made with the Welcome Words stamp set from Stampin' Up!   I needed a super fast baby card last week and made one with the Welcome Words set. I forgot to take a photo of it and it was really cute, similar to the one here but with a baby elephant added.  I had the stamp set out on the desk and decided to make a Welcome card for the new neighbor down the street and whipped up another girl baby card while the supplies were still all out on my desk.  The cards then inspired me to make a page!  I had some photos of the birth of my first son David that are long over due for being made into scrapbook page!  He is now 14!!   This stamp set is really a nice addition to my stamps, I love that it has multiple uses.

The sweet little turtles are from the Designer Series Paper pack called Sweet Li'l things.
Hope you are inspired to go create something fun!  Don't forget that Stampin' Up! is having a great sale right now, Sale-A-Bration!  For every $50 in purchases you make, you can choose a free product from the Sale-A-Bration catalog!   Check out the Sale-A-Bration catalog here!!

What a Great Idea!! Chrismtas Card Organization.

What do you do with the Christmas cards you receive each year?  I keep mine, and they end up in a box and get all jumbled up and mixed up with other years.  I like to keep them because I love to see the photos of family and friends and how the kids grow each year, and to see the handmade cards from my Stamping and arty friends and to help me remember people and their warm wishes throughout the years.   Well, as I was visiting a blog recently I saw this great idea!  Ashley Marostica is a Stampin' Up! blogger and demonstrator who does a lot scrapbooking and I like to check out her page ideas.  On this day she was showing what she does with her Christmas cards and I just had to copy her idea!!

I grouped the cards by size and type to keep the look neater.

Handmade art and cards on the top.

Some photo cards.

larger cards in the back.  And you can still open them and read them.

I added the year on the front.  The numbers are from a Project Life by Stampin' Up! stamp set called Hello Baby.  The Project Life stamps are great for memory keeping, there are lots of month stamps and numbers for dates and ages.
Check out all the Project Life by Stampin' Up! stamps here.

Here is how I put it together.  I started with some cardboard that I had saved from some other product wrap, like the hard cardboard that comes with some of the more fragile papers like the metallic foil paper, or the cardboard that is in some of the My Paper Pumpkin kits.  I always keep some of this around until I feel that my hoard is getting a bit big and then I thin it out.   I cut the heavy board in to 8 by 6.  You can look at your Christmas cards and decide what size works best for you.

Next I cut some Designer Series paper one inch bigger, so in my case 9 by 7 inches.  I then clipped off the corners.

Next I wrapped the paper around the board. I used a really strong adhesive so that it would hold up to the pressure, Fast Fuse.  I also added a nice liner for a cleaner look.

Next I decided where to put the rings.  You can decide if you want two or three, depending on what size you make your book.  I added three rings, spaced at 2, 4 and 6 inches.

I used rings I had from a previous project.  These are 1 inch and next time I buy some I will look for slightly bigger, maybe 1 1/2 as my book got pretty full and tight.
To make the holes you will need a very sturdy hole punch.  I used a hole punch called a "Crop-a-Dial" that Stampin' Up! used to sell.  It was made by We Are Memory Makers and is available at some craft stores or online.  It will punch through the heavy card board and several cards all at once.

The Christmas products used on the front were from the retired Holiday catalog, but these products are still available.  They are on the last pages of the Occasions catalog as "returning Favorites".

Here is the one I made for 2014.  The papers are retired from 2 Holiday catalogs ago.  Check the clearance rack for great prices on retired products!

I am going to make several more of these for other years using some of my left over holiday products.  This was a fun project!  Thanks Ashley!

Going Places Suite from Stampin' Up!

Hello stampers!  Today I am showing you some projects made with the Going Places Suite from Stampin' Up!  The little card on the bottom right was made at a Stampin' Up! event in Milwalkee and I just loved it. I knew I needed to make it at Stamp Camp and so I also made a slighlty different version so that people could choose a different sentiment.  I also wanted to make a scrapbook page with the set and I made it in the same look as the cards.  Its always a great way to get your creative juices flowing by looking at card and thinking how you could make it into a page.

I used the new Timeless Textures to add some more detail to the background of the page.

The papers in this Designer Series Paper stack are really fun, real maps and handmade marbleized designs, star maps and mountain ranges!  So different from the usual flowers and patterns.

Love this new Textured impressions Embossing Folder!

Here is what I think is a GREAT idea!   Get the Going Global stamp set, the Timeless Textures stamp set, the World Traveler Textured Impressions Embossing Folder,  and the Going Places designer series paper stack. ( total $54.50 in clear mount)  They are great and you wont regret it, AND you can then choose a FREE Sale-A-Bration product!  The Sale-A-Bration product that would be AWESOME with these products is the Send Me Soaring stamp set!!  Perfect!  The Send Me Soaring stamp set is only available through February 15th, so get it while you can!

On Stage Live ~ Coming Soon!

Hi Everyone!  I wanted to share something with you that you may not be aware of.  Stampin' Up! has these fun events called On Stage.  They are twice a year, once in the US and once in one of the foreign markets.  This April it is in Utah and if you are a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, or become one (hint hint) you can go!  You can earn the cost of admission through sales as I did, or you can pay, as I have in the past.  It is worth it and lots of fun.  We have presentations on new products and get to play with some of them as well.  There is a a fun swag bag that has things in it like a new stamp set and some logo items.  We swap cards with other demos and look at displays of ideas and there is a fun Prize Patrol handing out even more stamps and papers and things!  Lots of fun!

If you can't go to this one in Utah and wish there was one closer, don't be sad, there will be!  Last November the event was in Brussels, but there were local events held in cities all throughout the USA.  I went to the one in Milwaukee.  They has a jumbo screen that had video of the live event, but we had lots of live presenters as well, and we had the swag bag of gifts and the make 'n takes and the display boards, and it was lots of fun too! and no plane ticket :)  This November the event is in Brisbane, Queensland, a little to far for me :) so I will attend one of the events locally,  The cities for this November have not been announced yet, but will be spread throughout the country in major markets.  live near me? we could car pool!  or meet up at the event.

Here are some pictures from On Stage last November.  You can see the tote bag, it had a stamp set, a water bottle, a set of Stampin' Up! pens, a planner.  I also won a pack of paper and another stamp set.  Here is my friend Charlotte with her prize from one of the Prize Patrols.
If you decided to grow your business into more than a hobby you even get invited to a special dinner the night before with more fun freebies and business tips.
This was one of the Make 'n Takes.  You may recognize it, it was a sneak peek at a new set from the Occasions catalog.  We made 4 different products, all from the new catalog.  And we got the new catalog months before it went live, and were able to purchase from it too!

If you have any questions about On Stage, or about Stampin' Up! and becoming a demonstrator, just let me know.  I am happy to help.  If you have ever thought about it, now is a great time.  You can get $155 worth of products from any current Stampin' Up! catalog, for just $99 and it ships free!!

Enjoy the Little Things Project kit!

This fun little easel is part of a new project kit from Stampin' Up!  It is called "Enjoy the Little Things."  The easel is approx 8 1/2 by 6 1/4 inches and has 13 fun cards that you can switch out by mood or season, it's up to you.

The kit comes in a nice box that you can store your cards in when they are not on the easel.  I say "cards" but they are not really cards, small posters?  Large Post cards?  Little pieces of art?

13 fun cards in all.  Aren't they cute?  Want to make them too?  The kit is $28.00, the stamp set is $17.00.  They are sold separately in case you want one stamp set and then you can make more than one kit with the stamps, one for you, one for a gift!   The stamps will be fun on other projects as well.  You can also design your own little art pieces to add to the easel over time.
Want to get together with some friends to make this kit?  Book a party and I will do all the work!  Contact me today!
Check out the video and see how it all goes together!

Some Sale-A-Bration Fun

Hello my stamping friends.  Today I am sharing some fun projects made with Sale-A-Bration products! Hopefully you are familiar with what Sale-A-Bration is all about, but just in case you are not, here is the deal.  Once a year Stampin' Up! has a big promotion called Sale-A-Bration!  During Sale-A-Bration Stampin' Up! puts out a special catalog of limited time products that you can only get during the promotion, and with a purchase.  With each $50 purchase you can choose one item from the Sale-A-Bration catalog for FREE!  There are stamps of course, but also some designer series paper too!
Check out the Sale-A-Bration catalog here!

The fun Airplane card is made with the Send me Soaring stamp set.  I really like this set, it makes really sweet cards and is good for masculine cards, which I never seem to have sets for, so this was in the cart right away.

That little strip of blue on the left is part of the Sale-A-Bration paper called Perfectly Artistic. This is is beautiful paper!
This stamp set and paper pack are only available until February 15th, so you would need to get them soon.  On February 15th Stampin' Up! is going to release two more limited time Sale-A-Bration products, I can't wait to see that they are!

This cute little chicky is made with the Honeycomb Happiness set.  The set is called Honeycomb Happiness because it is sized to work with the little honeycomb embellishments in the Occasions catalog.
The little strip of paper is again from the Perfectly Artistic Sale-A-Bration DSP.

The little Chicky is popped up on a dimensional to really make him stand out. I used a blender pen to color him in with Daffodil Delight ink.

The "Oh, Hello" is embossed in white on black paper and cut out.  The black and white diagonal stripe paper is from the Go Wild dsp stack.

Here are some cards that I received in a card swap this week. They use the same stamp sets.
This card was made by Carol Stofer who gives credit to Julie Gearinger for the design.

This second card was made by Beata Fiebelkorn.  See those cute party balloons?  They are from the Party Punch pack, which is on sale as part of the weekly deals this week!
(but if you buy the stamp set and punch as a bundle the price is even better)

Well, thanks for stopping by today !!  Please let me know if you have any questions about any of the Stampin' Up! products, or about Sale-A-Bration!!
