Happy Halloween!!

I love  love loved Heather Summers Halloween page so much that I just had to try it for myself !!  Isn't it so cute? And yes, hers is better, she must have lots of patience, or  a very steady hand, and lets face it, she is a My Digital Studio master! But I do love my page, and hopefully the more I try using all the punches and the cropping tool, I'll get better at this too! My page is all set to plop some pictures in after we trick or treat.  I've posted a few tips and tricks about the page on my digital blog.
Heather is starting a new My Digital Studio class for the upcoming Christmas season and I signed up right away. She has teamed up with another Demo, Martha Inchley, who is also super talented, so I can't wait to start class tomorrow! Here is a link to some info, and I don't get anything if you go, so I'm not telling you about it for any personal gain, I just really enjoy her classes and think everyone else would too!!
The owl punch is a must have both digitally and in real life too!!
Hope you had a fun Halloween!!

Halloween Toxic Frameable Download

I am having a lot of fun with the Toxic Framable Template.  I used it as is and framed it, I re sized it to make a card, and I also used elements of it to make signs and scrapbook pages and treat bags and more.  And, one of the great things about digital downloads is that you can download immediately, no waiting for UPS to bring it to you.  So, even though Halloween is just days away, you still have time to make some fun things with Halloween Downloads.
Don't have My Digital Studio?  Get a Free 30 day trial at my Stampin' Up! store!!  YEA!!
Here are some other things made with the download.

Mitten Builder punch trick

I was asked if I cut out the mittens from yesterday's project or if I punched them out.  If you have seen this set before, you know that there is a stamp set and a punch, but that the punch only has a left hand mitten.    I realized that I could punch them out if I folded the paper in half.  Technically we are not supposed to punch through two sheets of paper, so do this at your own risk :)  I feel that the Whisper White card stock is less of a problem because it is a little bit thinner and I haven't had a problem personally.

This also works nicely with patterned paper.  This paper is from the Snow Festival Designer Series and the stitched look is perfect for the mittens.  You can line up the paper to give you patterns on the cuffs and main body of the mitten.

Make a Mitten treat bag.

I saw this cute little treat holder in the Stampin' Up! Seasonal Mini Catalog.  It wasn't until I looked really closely at it today that I realized that it is actually the Fancy Favor Box Die for the Big Shot.  Well that just made the project a whole lot easier, so I just had to make one.  I cut out the die with my Big Shot, then trimmed it down to make the treat box.  I didn't know the measurements in the catalog, so I just went with my own. I scored along the top of the Fancy Favor Box at 1 3/8 inches.  I then cut away the parts I didn't need, and folded along all the score lines.  It makes putting the box together easier if you pre-fold along all your lines, particularly the side scores.

Once you have your box all set, use something like Velcro to close the flap.

I stamped along the bottom of the box with the stitched hearts stamp from the Make a Mitten Stamp set.  I used versa mark and embossed with winter white embossing powder.
I used the mitten stamps in Gumball Green, and Punched them out.  I added the super cute Sweater Trim ribbon in Gumball green and a wooden button from the Naturals Designer Buttons collection.

Fill with chocolates, a gift card or other small items.

Ornament card

This fun little card was made with the Ornament Keepsake Bundle.  I posted about this bundle  yesteray, and about the class I am hosting using the bundle,  but thought I would give a close-up of the projects one by one.  First Up, the card.
We will be making one of each of the following ornaments too!  These will make great gifts.  I will be using some on my packages, doubling as a bow for the package.

Ornament Keepsake Bundle class

During the month of October, if you Purchase the Ornament Keepsake Bundle, you will get the Festive Paper Piercing Pack FREE (normally $7.95).  I really like this paper piercing pack, I've used the windows collection and labels collection dies with it many many times in past posts.  And, I love the Ornament Keepsakes Bundles, so its a win win all around.  The bundles come in two different ways, one for non-Sizzix Big shot owners (but really, you need one of those) where you get the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set and the Candlelight Christmas paper for $38.90 clear mount set or $47.90 wood mount set, and another bundle that includes the items mentioned in the first bundle, plus the matching framelit dies ($55.90 clear mount or $62.90 wood mount).  We will be using the stamp set, dies, and paper at the November 10th Ornament class.
We will make 4 projects, one card and 3 ornaments.  Class will start at 10:00 and most likely end by 12:30.  Cost is $15.00.  RSVP by November 5th.

Emboss Resist Snowflakes

I don't think a Christmas season has gone by with out an Emboss Resist Snowflake card.  I seem to make one every year, with what ever new snowflake stamp set I have, can't seem to help myself.  I like the look of the sponged ink around the snowflakes.  Its also fun to see the details of the snowflakes emerge when you add the ink on top.   If  you haven't made one, I suggest you give it a try.  Step one, emboss some snowflakes in clear or white embossing powder.   I use Versamark and clear embossing powder on mine. I dump my powder onto my card stock and tap off the excess.   Heat it up and watch the powder melt.
Can you see the clear snowflakes?  Hard to see I know.  Then I sponged over them with Pool Party ink.  I layered my cards with some glimmer paper and added rhinestones to the centers of the snowflakes.  I made a few different varieties and layouts, all using the Snowflake Soiree stamp set.
#127925$21.95 for clear mount.   #127922  $29.95 for wood mount.

Craft Fair time!!

I have signed up for a table at a craft fair at my church.  I haven't participated in a craft fair in over ten years, and never as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  Since this was a church fund raiser I thought I would go ahead and give it a try.  If you are in the area of Lombard Illinois, why not come by and say "Hi!" ?    The Craft fair is Saturday October 13th, beginning at 8:00 and I think it runs till 2:00.  It is at the Lombard Church of the Nazarene on Rt 53 in Lombard, just south of North Ave.  For the next week this post will stay at the top of the blog.  Scroll down to see new project posts, which will all be things I'll be making for the craft fair!

Candy Bars!!

One of the most popular posts here on my little blog are the ones that feature these little candy bars.  I made some last year and they continue to by the most clicked on post.  So, For the craft fair this year I figured I better make a bunch of these cuties!  Luckily  my daughter's school is selling the candy bars for their winter fund raiser again this year, so I was able to use the same bars as last year.  I made ten Thanksgiving Turkeys, 10 Angels, 10 Santas, 10 Grinches, and 10 Rudolphs.  And, I have another box of 50 candy bars to go!!  If  I don't sell them all I may be selling them on the blog.  Good Idea?

I am editing this post to a link to a couple of videos on my You Tube channel that were made years after this post.  Please check them out :) and give me a like or thumbs up :)
