Where is Beth?

Where Am I?   I am drooling over the new catalog and making list after list of things I want!!  And I am going through my stamps and deciding what to sell and what to keep of the retiring stamps!  I need to make room for all the fabulous goodness that Mr. Brown will soon deliver to my door!

I was at a Catalog premier party on Monday where i was given a copy of the new catalog and it was a fun night for sure.  I met up with some cyber friends from one of my favorite websites, www.splitcoaststampers.com and then headed over to the theater where the even took place.  The theater was packed with 275 happy Stampin' Up! demonstrators.  We even got a free new stamp set and I love it!!  This set is right up my alley!  I will show you some samples soon.  I messed up my craft room going through all the retired items and now I don't have a desk!

Anyway, I just wanted to pop in and let you know where I am!!  In the mean time, go to the clearance rack!  New items were added including that super paper stack from the winter catalog, Winter Frost!!

"The Very Bestest" stamp brush set
This download was just in time for my gifts this year.  I added the "Thank you for helping me grow" to the flowers I will give to  my daughter's teacher, and the hand lotion gift set says "thank you for giving my child a hand" for my son's teacher.

Here is a close up of the tag for the flowers.
I added some paper flowers with the Petite Petals Punch and some scraps of Primrose Petals Paper.

I matted the card to a piece of Primrose Petals card stock, and attached the card to a ruler.  Super cute and lots of fun!

I used some various shades of purple to go with the lavendar scent of the lotions and soap, and attached the tag with some Wisteria Wonder ribbon, now on the clearance rack.  (I LOVE the clearance rack for ribbon! check it out!)

The hand lotion tag was cut out with the Apothacary Accents Framelits dies.

I hope you've gotten some gift giving ideas!   Now its time to hop on over to Holly's blog!  I am positive that she will have something great to share!

Stampin' Up! + Project Life = Fantastic!!

Get ready for a scrapbooking revolution with Project Life! It helps busy people (so basically all of us) document life using photos and journaling in a quick, simple, and fabulous way. Stampin' up! has partnered with Becky Higgins, creator of Project Life, to offer a complete line of elite products.

Becky explains, "It's called Project LIFE because it's about YOUR LIFE. Whatever your life is. Whatever your stage of life. Whatever your family circumstances. Whatever your lifestyle. Project Life is designed to help anyone and everyone get their pictures into a book."  In a nutshell, it's all about spending more time making memories and less time scrapbooking them.

You’ll be able to order a selection of Project Life products starting May 1! And with the launch of our new annual catalog on June 2, you’ll be able to buy from our complete line of Project Life products.
Can’t wait that long? Stampin’ Up! demonstrators will be able to order the limited selection starting April 21. So if you’re a demonstrator make sure to check the demonstrator website that day; if you’re not a demonstrator, sign up and you can order the products early too! I would love to have you on my team!!
Here are the items you’ll be able to purchase on May 1:

I can't wait!  This is right up my alley.  I do A LOT of digital pages, that's true, but I have LOADS of photos from before I owned a digital camera and they are very slow to getting into pages!  I am going to have a lot of fun reliving the memories as I go through my photos!

Why Project Life enthusiasts (and soon-to-be Stampin' Up! enthusiasts) will want to buy Project Life from Stampin' Up! :

  • Coordination, coordination, coordination. You know we do it best, and our Project Life line is no exception.
  • Our products center on things that matter most-weddings, babies, kids, and the everyday moments of getting together with your favorite people-all things that need to be remembered.
  • Our card collections come without rounded corners so you can decide if you want to keep them that way (and match the corners of your photos as they come) or use our Project Life Corner Punch to round them out.
  • Our card collections come packaged in an exclusive storage system that holds all your Project Life supplies on your desk: cards, journaling pens, photos, accessory packs, stamp sets, and more.
And, in the Q & A section on the Demo website it says that the Project Life offering will be available in Digital Format too, so you know I am happy about that!!
I hope you are excited too!  Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have! I am happy to help!

Hello Cupcake!

I love to bake, specifically cupcakes and cookies.  I really really loved the download "Baking up Love" and bought it right away, but I wasn't sure how I was going to use it.   I needed a Birthday card this week so I decided to make another Hybrid card that uses MDS (My Digital Studio) as well as some traditional paper craft embellishments.  I made two versions.  On the first card I once again used the "No-Line Piercing" technique on a card!  Maybe you're tired of that technique, but it is really fun.  I printed out my cupcake and then pierced around the image, flipped in over, and painted in the pierced image.   The colors used are Strawberry Slush and Wisteria Wonder.
The Happy Birthday stamp is from the "Remembering your birthday" set.

The ribbon used here is the Natural Cotton Ribbon.   I used a Faux dip dye technique with my markers.  I first colored the ribbon with the  brush end of my markers, going darker at the top. Then I blended the ink in with my Aqua Painters.

Once the ribbon was dry I simply cut a forked end into each one and adhered them to my card.

On the second card I digitally colored the stamp outline, printed it out, then used Aqua painters to fill the image in.

here is the "Baking Up Love" digital stamp set.

That is what the cupcake looked like before I filled it in.

Well, thanks for stopping by today!

MDS Blog Hop ~ Easter and Spring!

It's MDS Blog hop time again! YEA! We hop the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. Our theme this week is Easter or Spring.  I decided to put together a few Easter treats for the children who are in my Wednesday night religious ed class.  I am the parent teacher for the kindergarten and pre-school children. I have used MDS (My Digital Studio) so many times to create treats and projects for the kids in my class.  Here is what I will give them next Wednesday.  I made a page in MDSand then turned them into treat holders.
Here is the page that I created.  Once I printed the page out, I cut it into four parts, each 4 14 by 5 1/2.
To make the treat holder you need to roll your paper into a tube.  I use Red Sticky tape to do this.  Then add some sticky tape to each end.  Close up one end, add your treats, then close up the other end.  They couldn't be easier.

While I had the page already created, I decided to make a matching card to send out to some family as well.  I made it a "Hybrid" card by adding an extra paper layer to the card.

I printed out the "He is not here, He is Risen" banners and cut them out with banner thinlits.  These little thinlits are so fun.  They have score lines in them so that you can easily fold them out and get that fun dimension.  They come with the Label Card Thinlits Die, love it!  I mounted my card fronts onto a Daffodil Delight layer, then onto a crumb cake base.  The digital papers I used for the project are from the "This and That Epic day" download.  The sun is from "Sunshine and Sprinkles".   To learn how to make the Cross, you can visit my "Beth's Digital Cuts" page.  I show you step by step how to edit a punch!
I hope you found some ideas for MDS and Springtime!  Next on the Hop is Holly Vandyne and I am Positive that you will find something super at her blog!

"Eggstra Spectacular" Easter Treats

Super simple and Fast, these treat holders will put a smile on any kids face.  I love that bunny from the Eggstra Spectacular Stamp set.  The whole set is cute but I really like that little bunny.  I wanted to make some quick Easter treats for the neighbor kids and here is what I came up with.  The treat holder is made from the Scallop Tag Topper Punch.  I love using our products in ways other than what they were intended for and this punch is getting a lot of mileage lately.

Start with a strip of paper two inches by 10.  {Even better if you have some 12 x 12 paper, because you also need two tiny pieces 2 by 1. If using 12 x 12, cut a 2 by 12 strip, then cut two 1 inch pieces off the end of it.}  Score you 10 inch piece at 4 1/2 and again at 5 1/2, then punch the ends with your scallop tag topper punch. Score you little pieces at 1/2 inch from each side.  Use red sticky tape to attach the tiny sides to the inside of your treat holder.

The little Hershey bunnies are the perfect size for this.  Peanut butter eggs would work, or the new milky way bunnies are great too.   The Hershey bunnies come 6 to a pack, and you can get 6 holders from one 12 by 12 piece of cardstock, so this is a perfect project for minimal cost.

I used scrap strips to decorate the front of the treat holder.  The bunny was punched out with the scallop circle punch and I added a larger strawberry slush circle behind it.  I also added some glitter to the bunnies tail, but it doesn't show up in the photo.

The Wisteria Wonder ribbon is retired ribbon but it is available on the Clearance rack right now.   The clearance rack is great because you can find all sorts of retired products at great prices, but they still work with the current Stampin' Up! family of products.  I tend to stock up on ribbon from the Clearance Rack.  Some items sell fast, so if you see it, you should grab it.

These are the candy bars I used.  My desk is a mess huh? :)
