Some Measurements...

As you requested, here are some measurements :)   The card is a standard card base, I just took an inch and a half off one side.  So, you are left with a card base that is 7 x5 1/2, scored at 2 3/4.  The Whisper White layer is 4 by 5 1/4 inches.  The Designer Series paper is 1 1/2 by 5 1/4.   To cut the circle I used the 1 3/8 inch circle punch.  I just slipped it in as far as it would go from the top of the card, then punched.  You don't have to worry that you got it in the wrong place, because you add the cupcake or flower or whatever after you punch the hole, otherwise it would be hard to get it centered and everything.  You could use just about any punch for your card, square, scallop, designer label.  You name it!  Or, you could even use framelits to make your opening.  So many options!!   I'm glad that people seem to like my fun card.  It is so fun to see a card get pinned on Pinterest or have people place a comment!
Happy Stamping!

Stamp Camp Card

I thought I would show one of the fun cards that we made at the last Stamp Camp.  This card has a fun closure made from the recently released Petite Curly Label Punch (#129405) and the 7/8 Scallop Punch (#129404), both $12.95.  They have matching stamp sets and are so fun and cute.

I used a Dimensional to pop up the punched out scallop, and placed it half way on the base and half in front of the closed front  flap, making sure to keep the sticky part only on the card base, so that it wouldn't stick to the card front. Clear as mud ?  This keeps the card closed but opens up super easily.

I used the circle punch to make a window for the cupcake to pop through, or on the other version, for the flower to pop through.  I also added some more detail by paper piercing around the circle with the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack (#126187 $7.95).    I made the cupcake with the Cupcake Builder Punch (#121807 $16.95), love it!
This flower is from the Secret Garden Stamp set (#131940 $18.95 clear mount) and cut out with the matching Framelit Dies (#129372 $24.95) .   The fun striped paper is from the Sunshine and Sprinkles paper pack, in the spring mini catalog (which ends June 1st)
The little scallop stamp is from a new set called A Round Array, which is i the new upcoming Idea Book and Catalog that comes out  June 1.
Right now, if you buy the punch and stamp set together, you save 15%.   The stamp and punch together are called the Spring Surprise Bundle and you need to enter the code #133899 to get the special price, $23.95 for the bundle.  You can also get just the stamp set for $14.95 if you only need that.
The Stamp set I used with the Petite Curly Label Punch is called Ciao, Baby.  It is from the spring mini catalog that ends June 1st, so pick it up now if you like it! (#129648 $13.95).  This set also has stamps that work with the little 7/8 scallop punch.

Spinner Hands

Have you ever passed up a stamp set and later regretted it?  There was a cute stamp set a year or so back called "Take a Spin".  I thought it was cute at the time, but never ended up getting it.  Recently I was looking at items on the Clearance rack and I saw the spinner hands.  They are now just $0.79 a pack.  Super fun, but bummer, the set is discontinued.  Well, My Digital Studio to the rescue!  I noticed that the Take a Spin set is available digitally!  Yippee.    And, when I downloaded the set I had another fun discovery!  Not only does the digital version come with the spinner boards, but it also comes with all the elements individually.  What I mean is, the original stamp set was only 4 large stamps.  The digital version is 41 stamps!  Fun!  So, I opened a blank page in My Digital Studio, and added the finished spinner card stamp.  Then I colored the stamp with the coloring tool.
Once I was happy with my coloring, I clicked OK.  Then I copied and pasted two more so I had a total of 3.  I sized the stamped image to fit my 2 1/2 in circle punch.  Resizing a stamp is another super fun thing to do in MDS.  I did the same thing with the Birthday spinner stamp, and then printed them out on my printer.
here they are printed out.

Here is how I assembled the Birthday cards.
Here are most of the other included stamps...
Graduation, wedding, anniversary, lots of good stuff!

Secret Garden

I've been playing around with the stamp set Secret Garden this week.  We are going to use this set and the matching Framelits at my Stamp Camp next weekend. This card is not for Stamp Camp, those will be a surprise.  I love that Stampin' Up has so many sets that have matching dies to cut them out with.  I don't usually shy away from fussy cutting, but this is faster and so easy.   My card started with some fun embossed paper.  I bought this paper a while back, then forgot about it for card bases because it is 12 by 12 and I never start there for cards.  I saw a sample in the catalog that used it, and got it out.  Love it!  It has a heavier weight to it and the embossed images are slick and shiny.  I cut up a bunch of card bases so that I will be sure to use them again.  The paper is called Natural Composition Specialty paper #126917 $12.95 for 12 sheets.

The designer paper used here is from the Summer Smooches collection.  I took colors from the patterned paper to use for my stamps.  I added some glitter to the Daffodil Delight flower, but you can't see it in the photo.
Easy peasy card.

Pop-Up Posies kit

Well, its been a week!!  I had a brilliant idea to clean out my kitchen on Saturday, because a donation truck is coming on Monday to pick up any unneeded items.  Somehow this turned into going through the craft room too.  Then I decided to change how my colors are organized, since there will be new color families in the new catalog.  Basically I created a HUGE MESS!  I took me until Wednesday to get everything put back together.  But, I am happy with the results, so that's good.
I was asked to make the "Welcome" kits that get handed out at church.  I've made them before, in the fall and winter.  Here are those pictures.  This time I decided to use flowers to help it feel more springy around here.  I used the Pop-Up Posies designer kit.  This kit is really fun!!  I spent all day making cute flowers.

You get 9 embossed paper tags, 9 fabric covered brads, tons of paper flowers, some bakers twine, and a stamp that says "just for you".  All for just $12.95.   I will definitely order another one of these kits before the end of the Spring Catalog (May 31st).
I used the Calypso Coral and Pool Party flowers to make 17 welcome kits!  And, I still had some left over to make this super cute velum bag.

I made 11 like this...

and 6 like this.  I did run out of the pre-cut embossed tags, but I just made some similar ones with my Big Shot and the Labels Collection Framelit Dies.

Then I thought I would design something for next weeks Stamp Camp.   I used Velum paper and the Fancy Favor Die to make this treat holder.  Think how cute this would be at each place setting at a bridal shower or upcoming Mother's Day brunch.

I used the brand new Simply Scored board to make that cute wavy line at the bottom of the bag.

In case you don't recognize it, the top of this bag was made with the Adorning Accents Edgelit Die and the matching Adorning Accents Embossing Folders.  I use small post it's to keep that small Edgelit in place.

I cut all the layers together at the same time.  I used a 5 by 6 piece of paper, folded in half at the 3 inch mark.  I added the Coral layer on top.  I folded the white layer over the top of the bag and closed it with a staple.  Then I covered the staples with Calypso Coral.

Head over Heels...

Head over heels for this card!  One of my Stamp Campers, Lois, sent me a payment with this card!! So Clever.  We made spinning pinwheel cards at stamp camp last month.  It's so nice to know that people use the ideas from class to make other things at  home.  She even put the Stampin' Up! logo on the flag!
Thanks Lois!!

Click on the movie to watch Lois do cartwheels! And click here to see how to make a spinning card.  The tutorial is from Splitcoaststampers.  Now my children want me to make cards with them spinning around!!

Here is the card we made at class and a link to that blog post

Birthday Blimp

I love the cloud paper from the Sunshine and Sprinkles Designer Series Paper Pack.  So Fun!  I also love the super cute cards that you can make with this years Ronald McDonald House Charity Stamp set called "Moving Forward".  Each Year Stampin' Up! sells a stamp set to benefit the Ronald McDonald House, and this years set is the best.  I have used it countless times and love it.   Last week I went to a demonstrator shoebox swap (were demo's get together and pass shoe boxes with a project in them around the table to make each others projects).  Both Lisa and I  brought projects with this cute set.  Above is mine.  Here is hers. Fun right?   I used the Window Framelits to cut the shaped frame out of my Whisper White layer, then used Dimensionals to pop it off the cloud layer.  The blimp image is also popped up, but you can't tell in the picture.  The cute Melon Mambo ribbon is from the spring mini catalog.
This is the complete set.  It's only available through May 31st.  Item #126322 cling mount, $14.95 or #126320 $19.95 wood mount.

Here is another card I made with this set a while back.

Fun Clearance Rack Finds

Have you been to the clearance rack lately?  There are lots of great finds.   I recently had a customer find the cute Build A Bear dies.  These were really cute when they were in the catalog, so when they were discontinues I held onto them.  I thought my daughter would have fun with them.  I noticed that the Santa Suits and Halloween costumes were no longer available though, so I thought as a nice Thank you I would send some of these to my customer.  Well, then I had fun cutting them out and my daughter had fun putting some together, so I thought I would offer this to anyone.  So, if you purchase the 4 Build a Bear items that are still on the clearance rack (total of $23.96)  I will send you an assortment of fun Build a Bear clothes for free.  I cut out several of each for Marcella (just went out in the mail today Marcella) and I will do the same for you.  Clearance Rack items go fast, so hurry to get yours today.

Here is what I cut out.

Here are pictures from the old catalog.  To make the girl Santa, you use the belt and hat from the Santa kit, but the dress from the Beary Essentials (on the Clearance Rack).

This is also a picture from the old catalog.  The Witches dress comes from the Beary Essentials die, but you add the hat from the Halloween die.

Cute and fun and Super Cheap right now!

There is a new challenge over at MDS Monday!  Tara is the hostess this time and she has designed a two part challenge.  The first part of the challenge is a sketch challenge, always a nice place to start.  The second challenge is to use just one kit (or mostly one kit).  For my page I choose the Hello There kit.  I have more details at my Beth's Digital Cuts blog.  Check it out, and go to MDS Monday to check out the challenge!

Stampin' Up! has also announced some new color changes that will take place in the new catalog that comes out June 1st!   Lots of exciting new color additions coming in, and a few going out.  Many of you may have some of these colors already as they were part of past In-Color collections.  If you see one of your favorites is retiring, now is a great time to add a new pad or re-inker to your color collection.  Any retiring colors will be "while supplies last" starting now!  Bye Bye Baja Breeze! I am happy to see that Island Indigo and Calypso Coral will be sticking around, as well as Pool Party.  And I have to admit that I haven't used Certainly Celery since Pear Pizzazz came out, so I'm happy about that switch.  I did like Regal Rose a lot :(  and Not Quite Navy, but I can't remember when I last used Bravo Burgundy.   And, when the new catalog comes out in June, we will get 5 more new "In-Colors" as well, so I can't wait to see those!  And Smokey Slate sounds like a great addition!

As Always, contact me if you have any questions!!

Paper Scraps Hearts

Stampin' Up! has put some really pretty paper stacks in the past few mini catalogs, but they are an odd size.  The stacks are 4 1/2 by 6 1/2 inches.  They are an awesome price at just $6.95 for 48 sheets, but I always end up with little 1 inch strips.  So, here are a couple of ideas to use up your pretty little scraps.
Edited on May 17, 2017 to add video.  This older post still gets a lot of traffic, so I thought I would update it a bit with some papers and stamps that are still available.  I also started making videos, so I thought I would share that here as well.

First I glued the strips down onto some paper.  I used my grid paper to make sure I lined them up nicely.

You can either use your piece of paper strips under a frame, or cut it out.  I used my Hearts Collection Framelits Dies for the cards here, but there are so many possibilities!  I really like the framelits, I think I have them all by now!

These tags were made with the tiny tags stamp set and punched out with the jewelry punch.  The tiny safety pin is from the Vintage trinkets embellishments.

For this card I cut a heart from the top layer of the card, then used dimensional to raise the top layer off the bottom layer a bit.  I tied a piece of Natural 7/16 Trim ribbon around one side of the heart frame.
The Thank you stamp is from the Bitty Banners Stamp set, and cut out with the Itty Bitty Banners framelits.

This is the Print Poetry Paper Stack.  Both of my cards used paper from this same stack.  One side of the paper has warm tones of Primrose petals, Raspberry Ripple, Summer Starfruit and Gumball Green.  The opposite side has Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit and Gumball Green.  Item #129312 $6.95.
