I wasn't going to post this super fast Father's Day party favor but since I am behind in my posts I thought, Why not? Its hard to get some good stamping time with the kids home for the summer! We have lots of fun things to do each day. Jillian is in "Stage Play" and gymnastics and swimming, Zachary is in gymnastics and swimming and David has art class and swimming. Lots of driving around. Anyway, onto my project. I was asked to make a little something to hand out at church on Sunday. We had flowers for the Mothers on Mother's Day, so they wanted to do something for Father's Day. I was asked to come up with something, but I didn't find out about it until just a few days before. I was asked to make 50 and try to keep them simple and inexpensive. I came up with this. I always have cello bags in many sizes on hand, so I filled them with chocolate covered almonds and raisins, and pistachio nuts. I made a simple bag topper with some Whisper White paper to mimic a collar and then used some ribbon to make a tie. I know its too late to give anyone any Father's Day inspiration for this year, but maybe someone could use it next year. If you need to make a lot, this came together fast for very little expense.
Here are some more directions....
I am using a bag that is 3 inches wide. You can change this up if you need to.
cut a piece of paper 3 inches wide and 2 inches long, score at 1/2 inch.
make a pencil mark half way, so for me that's
1 1/2 inches. make it as high as you want your collar to be.
cut from the corner to the top of your pencil line, on both corners.
Staple the collar piece to your treat bag, the collar will hide the staples.
Make a tie with ribbon and add a big glue dot to the back. This will stick the tie on, but it will also make the collar lie flat.
Thanks for stopping by!!
