Very Vintage Christmas

Hi everyone.  Today I thought I would share one of the make and takes we made at convention.  It is from a suite of products called "Home for Christmas".  The suite is full of vintage inspired patterns and colors and is just so fun.  The Stamp set is called "Cozy Christmas".  The Santa shown here is fussy cut from one of the Home for Christmas designer series paper patterns.

Isn't that Santa so cute?  The paper has several Santa's and I love them all.  And, another sneak peek is the Home for Christmas designer buttons.  There are three different buttons, this poinsettia, as well as a star button and a green and white stripped button.  That lovely Very Vanilla stripped satin ribbon will also be in the new Holiday/ Fall Winter catalog.
Hope you like today's Holiday sneak peek!  Catalogs will start to arrive in a little less than a month. They go live to order from on September 1st!

Thanks for stopping by!

Vintage Leaves Convention swap

Hello everyone!  Today I am sharing the swap card I made for convention.  The Stampin' Up! convention is a fun time for getting new ideas and one of the best ways is to swap cards.  I joined a swap group and made 20 of these to share.
I used the Vintage Leaves stamp set as the main stamps and Endless thanks for the sentiment.

I started by cutting out of leaf from a piece of Soft Suede cardstock.

Next, I embossed the cardstock with the woodgrain embossing folder, then sponged the cardstock so that the texture really showed nicely.   I then placed the Soft Suede piece over a card base in Very Vanilla so that I would know where to stamp the words "Thankful for you".  I then added some splatter.  I didn't glue it down yet though, I wanted to add dimentionals and twine first.

Next I cut out a lot of leaves!!  I made sure to have a variety on the papers so that I could cut out several of the leaves at one time. The magnetic plate really helps to line the dies up with the stamped images.

After cutting the leaves out, I then sponged the edges.

I then adhered everything together with dimentionals and glue dots.  I like that the dimentionals make the top layer pop up a bit from the base and add even more depth to the front of the card.

Remember this wreath I shared from a post a couple days back?  It was made from the same stamp set and dies.  Love it!

Here is another wreath from the annual catalog! so pretty!

And here is a sneak peek!  I snapped a picture of a card that was shown up on the big screen at convention.  It shows a new stamp set that was made to go with the leaflet dies.  I love that there is more than one option with these dies.  This set is a little more hand drawn, more artsy and very cute.

Here is my supply list.

Some Conventions Fun

Hi Everyone!  I meant to write up some post while I was away but that just didn't happen :)
I got back late last night, slept in late and now I am just sitting around in my jammies having some coffee and muffins! how about that for a nice relaxing day?  I was  uploading some pictures from my phone and found a few that I thought I would share with you.  First off let me just say that the holiday catalog, officially the Fall/Winter catalog, is AMAZING!!  There is just so much in the catalog I NEED, more that I WANT, and only one or two things that I think I can wait on.  My poor bank account!

First stop was my hotel room, which is so much fun.  My husband picked it for me last year and I stayed at the same place again this year.  It is the Hotel Monaco and they are really a fun place to stay.  They even bring a pet fish up to your room for a pet during your stay.  I had my fish, my sketch book and my paints and Aqua Painter, what more could I want?

There were some really fun display boards but I didn't get great pictures, so I will just share a few.  That wreath is gorgeous, made from the vintage leaves stamp set and leaflets framelits (main annual catalog).

This die is really fun and going to be a big seller I am sure! love it.  It's called "Sleigh Ride Edgelits."  There are three dies, a sleigh of course, as well as a grouping of trees and a grouping of homes.

so pretty in vellum, sorry the pictures isn't better.

A pretty little forest in shades of green.

See the cute reindeer paper clip? adorable!

More Religous sets in the Christmas section this year, which is nice.

Love this little Teepee made with the Cutie Pie die!  My oldest son was away at Boy Scout camp while I was in Utah, I think the troop leaders who took the boys need little treats in paper Teepees don't you think?

There was so much more, and unfortunately I didn't get great photos of it all, but I am sure you will be seeing some great samples soon.  Pinterest will be full of great Stampin' Up! projects! Demonstrators who attended convention were able to pre-purchase holiday items so there will be lots of us in holiday mode very soon!

Thanks for stopping by today!!

I'm off to the Stampin' Up! Convention!!

Hi everyone!  I am leaving for the Stampin' Up! convention so that is a major reason for the lack of posts lately! That and three kids home from school for the summer!  :)
I hope to post some fun convention picks, and a post about my Swap Card that I made for a card swap that I am participating in.  I am just about finished packing and leave tomorrow at 10:00 am so if I have some time at the airport I will write up a post with a card project, I did take some photos as I was making it!
At convention I will get to see the new Holiday Catalog so that is super fun!  It will be Christmas in July!  And I get to pre-order some items from it as well, so I will have some fun things to show off at the August Stamp Camp!  Yea!

Hey Girl, Happy Birthday!

I think this new stamp set "Hey, Girl" is super fun.  I know I will get a lot of use out of it for Birthday cards for friends of my little girl, maybe some scrapbook pages.  I really like coloring, so I knew I would like this set.
One of my favorite ways to color is with the Aqua Painter and that usually means that you need watercolor paper.  Recently my friend Kathy Burke told me that she heard you can fill an Aqua Painter with rubbing alcohol.  She heard that you need to use the 91% and not the 70% that are in most people's medicine cabinet.  I never knew that there were two kinds and when I got home to check what I had it turned out it was the 70%, but the 91% was easy to find right there on the shelf at the grocery store.  I was eager to try it out and so I filled an Aqua Painter and got right to work. I was so happy to learn that it worked like a charm on regular Whisper White paper.

I got ink out of the lid of my stamp pad and colored just as I would on watercolor paper, but directly onto Whisper White cardstock.  You need to use Memento Ink as your outline.  Watercolor paper is great, but it is more expensive and somewhat ivory, so I love that I now have this option to use my Whisper White paper!
I used some of the new In-Color inks for my image.  Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush for the dress, Delightful Dijon for her hair.  I used Blushing Bride for her skin.  Her eyes and lips are so small I just used markers in Marina Mist and Watermelon Wonder.

For the frame I used Basic Black cut to 4 1/4 by 3 1/2.  I then used the Square collection framelits to cut out a frame.  I also used a tag die from the Curvy Keepsakes dies.

I stamped some balloons onto the "Cherry on Top" Designer Series paper stack.  This is a great stack to use with the new In-Color collection.

I placed the paper balloon right on top of the stamped image, also making sure that some of it when outside of the frame.

The Cucumber Crush Lace was the perfect ribbon to tie on the Happy Birthday tag, stamped from the Honeycomb Hello set. I like this set because of the little sentiments, meant to fit within the honeycombs of the Honeycomb Die, but even though I have used this set many times, it has never been with the intended die. The size of the stamps is perfect for so many things!

I hope that you like the new coloring tip about adding alcohol to your Aqua Painters!  I know am going to be doing this a lot!
