Flowers For Every Season

The Mini Catalog Inspiration

Flowers for Every Season Suite

Long before it was a Covid-19 thing, stampers were masking - in a fun way!

Crafters make masking cool and I'm excited to share this simple and useful stamping technique with you. This card also features several new products from the gorgeous Flowers For Every Season Suite.

Masking is a simple technique that blocks off areas of a project to create white space. It can create a faux layering effect or highlight an area for a greeting or focal point. Masking can be loose and artsy with torn edges or precise straight lines or shapes depending on what you use to create your mask.

I hope you enjoy this card that shows the beauty you can create with these lovely new stamps, ink, and paper! If you are in my Facebook Group "Beth's Paper Cuts Idea Sharing Group" you will notice that I used the Flowers For Every Season paper for my Mystery Card Kits this month. If you are not part of that group, consider joining and participating in some Stamp Challenges.

As always, feel free to contact me at any time! I love to discuss all things stampy!
Sincerely,
Beth

Using Stampin' Up's New Water Painters

Hi Everyone. Today I wanted to play around with the new 'Water Painters' from Stampin' Up!  These new water painters replace the 'Aqua Painters' from previous catalogs.  I LOVED the Aqua Painters, so when I saw they were being replaced I had to put the new version on my first order. I was curious to find out if they lived up to the older version and I am happy to announce that they do! And, the new set comes with a set of 2 round brushes AND a flat wash brush!  The set of three Water Painters are just $12.00.  I used the flat wash brush for a variety of backgrounds and it worked so smoothly, I was really pleased with it.  I made several backgrounds and used them for some Birthday cards.  All the cards use the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set.  I really like this stamp set because of the "Happy (a little bit late) Birthday.  I try to be timely but I must admit that I am often a few days late with my birthday cards! This stamp is perfect for me!
Here is a video of how to make this simple watercolor backgrounds.

This first card uses the wide flat wash brush to make some stripes on the background.  This card uses Night of Navy and Magenta Madness.  The cute tiny flowers are from the new Confetti Flowers Border Punch.  The sentiment is embossed in white embossing powder.

This second card also uses the Confetti Flowers Border punch. The colors for this card are Granny Apple Green, Bermuda Bay, and Night of Navy.  I used an emboss resist technique on this card.
This next card uses the Wink Of Stella pen to achieve some fun splatter patterns.  The colors here are Granny Apple Green, Bermuda Bay, and Gorgeous Grape.   The sentiment is embossed on Basic Black.

This card uses  Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, and BlackBerry Bliss for the background. I added some sequins from the Artistry Blooms Sequin assortment. I used an emboss resist techniuqe on this card.

I made a couple additional cards using some scraps of water color paper that I made while practicing with the Water Painters. This card uses the watercolored paper under a die cut from the Stitched Triangles dies.

This last card also uses the Stitched Triangles dies.  These dies are really fun and I can't wait to show you them in more detail in a future video.

I hope that you will check out these new brushes. I am sure that you are going to love them.

Hippo Happiness

Hi Everyone.  Today I want to share a fun new bundle from Stampin' Up! called Hippo Happiness. Hippo Happiness is a 2-step stamp, really a three step stamps, so you can create custom animals in a variety of color combinations.  Each animal has a base layer stamp, then a top layer stamp, and finally a face stamp.   Here I have used tone on tone Coastal Cabana, Magenta Madness, and Misty Moonlight for my animals.  The Bright and cheery paper is from the Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper collection.

This is such a cute and fun stamp set and then to add these fantastic dies really just pushes it over the top.  Take a look at all the label dies! Most have stitching detail.  There are even two ribbon slot dies.  This is a die collection that you are going to reach for again and again even when you are not using the cute little animals.

I made a video to show how to put these cards together, as well as how to do a Faux Tie Dye look on the Ribbon.    I also show the paper and dies up close, so you can see the whole collection.

Here is an up close on that Hippo!
This card uses Gorgeous Grape and Coastal Cabana cardstock.   Inks used are Gorgeous Grape, Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay.
The sequins are new, they are the Artistry Blooms adhesive backed sequins.

The Unicorn card uses the reverse side of the same sheet of Artistry Blooms Designer Series paper as the hippo card.  The cardstock used on this version is Magenta Madness and Mango Melody. Inks used here are Magenta Madness, Mango Melody and Granny Apple Green.   For the lighter tone of pink, I used Magenta Madness, but first stamped off on a scratch sheet of paper to remove some of the ink, then stamped the image onto my cardstock.
