Love of Leaves

Hi everyone!  Today I want to share a collection of cards made with the Love of Leaves bundle.  This bundle is all me! I love fall, I love leaves and I love these colors!! I thought I would share a bunch of cards, all made with the same colors!

First up is a card that I copied from the catalog.  Sometimes making a card that you see somewhere else is a good way to jump into the stamp set and get a feel for the products. I loved this card because of the fun plaid and the use of the negative space left behind when the leaf was cut out.

For this card I took that same card idea, but turned it into a shaker card by adding a clear window sheet behind the open leaf and adding some sequins.

I used the left over strip of Plaid Tidings Paper from the first card to make this card. I also used the leaf that was cut out.  The dies with this set are really fun with the stitching detail.

I made a second card but changed up the sentiment.

This card is from a swap and unfortunately I don't know who made it! (let me know if it's yours! ) I loved the style of this one and the pretty Vellum leaf.

These next couple of cards are catalog samples.

Here is a video I made showing off all the items used for the cards as well as a step by step for how to make two of them. I hope you'll check it out!

Dove of Hope

Hi Everyone!

Today I used the Dove of Hope stamp set and dies to make some Christmas cards for a card swap I am participating in.  I love these dies! The detail is so pretty.  I cut them out in Shimmery White cardstock and they are lovely in person.

If you have visited my blog before you know I love to watercolor. I decided to make a simple watercolor 'Earth' behind the dove, but I used some fun colors on this one: Highland Heather, Misty Moonlight and Balmy Blue.

This technique is easy to do.  Find a hollow circle of some kind. I used my Tear-Tape.  Use your Water Painter to paint a water only circle inside your template. You will want your water circle pretty wet. Be sure to go around the edges really well.

Remove your circle object that you used for your template and then dip your brush into some ink.  You should have your ink ready to go because you have to work fast.  I add some drops of ink to the kids of my ink pads and paint from there.  You could also ad some drops of ink into a pallet if you have one.  As you touch the color to the water on the paper it will spread into the circle.  The ink will only go to the wet areas, so it will make your circle appear.

Have some fun with it! They all turn out different and lots of fun water-blooms happen.

When choosing colors, avoid using colors that are opposites on the color wheel, these will turn brown when they mix.

Two Cards with the Flight Of Fancy stamp set

Hi all!  Today I played around with the Flight of Fancy stamp set.  This is a super cute stamp set that I was drawn to right away when the mini catalog came out this past August, but then I forgot about it because I was dazzled by the Big Suites of products with the matching papers and dies.  Can't help myself with all the fun suites!!  But it is nice to not let these little stand alone gems go unnoticed.

I made this Christmas Card using Blender Pens and ink to color in the image.  With the addition of Stampin' Blends to our product line I sometimes forget about Blender Pens and good old ink pads for coloring.  I show how to use them in the video below.  Cardstock colors are Pool Party and Shaded Spruce.

To color the background of this cute Halloween card I used sponges on Whisper White cardstock.  The inks used were Night of Navy and Pacific Point.  I used a post-it note to mask off an area for the moon. I used Shimmer Ink in Frost White to add the stars to the sky.  I show how to make this background in the video below.  I colored the image with Stampin' Blends. Cardstock card base is Rich Razzleberry.

Both cards used sentiments from the Celebration Tidings stamp set.

Love Your Neighbor home decor Project

I hope that  you enjoy today's project. It is the combination of a few ideas and came together when I saw a card by Brian King that was about the same but says "home" instead of "love".  I have a T-Shirt that is like this, it is a row of homes in various skin tones on a blue background and it says "Love Thy Neighbor".  I believe it is from Elly and Grace.  A friend gave it to me this summer and I really liked it and painted her a version of it, and made a card like it back in August using an older die set called Homemade Holiday. I also made a version with a die set called Hearts come home.  I mailed them out without posting because those are older discontinued sets and I didn't want to cause an issue with someone wanting the dies and not being able to order them. In my mind, the newer Home Together dies were too big, and for how I thought I wanted to line the houses up, they were. Until I saw a card by Brian King! I loved the way he layered and nestled together the houses, perfect for the "Love" sentiment that I was trying to evoke.  His card is here: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/53832158035828737/

I made a quick video that shows how to put this project together.

I also made a card version of this project.

To create the 'Your Neighbor' banner I just used my computer and printed the words out on Whisper White cardstock. The font used here is Bradley Hand.

Check out the super cute Coming Home suite! I only used the dies for my project today, but I know I will get a lot of use out of this adorable collection of products. The projects below are from the catalog.

I also used the Playful Alphabet dies for this project. I ABSOLUTELY love this Alphabet die set.  The dies are smaller than our Alphabet dies from the past, and so you are able to fit a lot more words onto a card. If you search these dies on Pinterest you will find so many amazing projects.  Here are some from the catalog:
