Fun use for Painted Blooms Designer Paper

The Painted Blooms paper is truely lovely and if you haven't gotten it yet, now is the time because it is part of the Weekly deals!!  And, it is also in the Occassions Catalog which ends on June 2nd!!

I happened to see a clever way to use it the other day and I thought I would share.  This Stampin' Up! demonstrator  Billie Moan, doodled around the images giving them a really fun and whimsical look.  Check out her blog, its fab! I had to try it  myself.  The hardest part was cutting up that beautiful paper!

So Simple but so sweet!

I truly was hard to cut the paper up, so silly.  But I did it and luckily I liked the results.  And, I bought an extra pack to have just in case, couldn't help myself! :)

Weekly deals change every Tuesday, there is always something great so check it often!

Perfect Blend ~ Get it while you can

I LOVE coffee!  Have to have it everyday.  Love love love it.  So, when I saw that the "Perfect Blend" stamp set was being discontinued I was a little bummed.  But then I figured that Stampin' Up! was going to come out with an even bigger coffee themed set that I would love even more so I shouldn't worry.  But, I was wrong :(  no new coffee set!
So, if you love coffee and give coffee gift cards and gifts, get this set while you can!  It will not be on the sale table at my Rubber Rummage sale next week!! It is going to stay right in my craft room where it belongs :)

To get this hand water colored look I started by inking up the stamp in Crumb Cake and stamping off onto my scratch paper first before stamping on the water color paper.

I then used my aqua painter to brush a little more in onto the image. I used both Crumb Cake and Baked Brown Sugar.   I also used a bit of smokey slate on the lid.

For the sentiment, I stamped in Stayzon ink, and then bushed some ink right on top.

I used the Curly Label punch, another get it while you can item!!

Some more coffee cards from the past...

IMPORTANT NOTE:  The current catalog will be available through June 2nd, so after that retired items will no longer be available.  Retiring stamps and accessories have been "while supplies last" since May so hot items are going fast.  Also, the new catalog goes live on June 2nd, so that is the one day that you can order from BOTH catalogs!!!  I am sure that many people will be doing that so the online store may be a bit sluggish, but stick with it!
Thanks for stopping by!!

In-Color Balloons

Hi Stamping friends!  I thought I would share a card today that uses some new paper and new In-colors!
I actually recieved a card like this in a swap during celebration and I didn't know who made it, but i just found out it was made by my friend Lisa Vanco! I thought it was so cute and wanted to switch it up to show some new stuff!  The patterened paper here is from the "cherry on top" paper stack.  This is super cute paper.  The paper stacks have changed a bit. They used to be 4 1/2 by 6 1/2 and are now 6 x 6 in the new catalog. The colors here are Watermelon Wonder, Crushed Cucumber, Delightfully Dijon, and Tip- top Taupe.

I cut the balloons out with the Balloon Framelits dies.  I adhered the top three together, then traced around the card to know where to cut.

I used a glue dot on the backs of the balloons to attach the baker's twine.  Simply attach in the back, wrap around the balloon, then attach again to the glue dot in back.  I also popped the top layer up on dimensionals.

Tie all your balloon tails together, tie them with another smaller piece of twine, then trim.

Here is Lisa's original card.

Everything Eleanor + Aqua Painter

I was in the mood to usemy Aqua Painters this week and looked through my stamps for a set to color. I love the Everything Eleanor set and thought the flowers would be pretty watercolored.  They are a little tricky, due to the fine detail in the flowers, but I think they look very pretty.

I first stamped the swirl stamp in Old Olive.  You can see that the stamp didn't set super inky and some parts are a bit light, so I took my Aqua Painter and filled in just with the ink already on the paper.  I think this really makes the background look hand painted.

Next I stamped the flowers.  They are very easy to color because they have already filled in the darker areas with extra ink.  I didn't need to add any more ink when coloring.

I stared by doing the areas that are light, so that the brush wouldn't have too much ink on it.  I then cleaned off the brush and did the shaded areas.  You need to keep the Aqua Painter pretty dry because of the fine detail.  I cut the flowers out and attached them to the card with dimentionals.

I love the woodgrain background and the linen thread and use them all the time.  They add such nice texture, don't you think?

More congrats!

Hello everyone!  I have another card to show you using the Bravo stamp set.  I got this card in a card swap and unfortunately I no longer know who I swapped with, if you know who, let me know so I can give credit.   I just loved the way the sequin shaker area was made, and the fun star stencil. Sorry for the photo, it is so hard to photograph the acetate, you can see a reflection of my phone on the card :)

These stencils have been on my shelf for a long time and sat unused :(  I sort of forgot about them.  I was so happy to have used them because they are super easy to work with.  I used a sponge dauber on my project but you can also use a spritzer.

I also added some stars to the flap of the envelope!

I used washi tape on three sides of the main image panel (2 by 4 inches in coastal cabana and another cut from a window sheet) and added some of the soon to be retired In-color sequins.  (hint - look for new sequin collections in the upcoming new catalog!)

Another fun detail I liked on this card was the notch cut from a circle punch.  I always had a hard time putting a card with bakers twine into the envelope because the twine would move and not want to go into the envelope.  This is a brilliant way to keep the twine in place and fit into the envelope nice and easy.

Super fun right?  I thought so too!
Thanks for stopping by!

The papers and bakers twine colors I used here are being retired, but you can have fun making up your own color combinations!
