Colors of Fall

The leaves are starting to change around town.  I just love this time of year.  It's so fun to see the variety of colors.  Some trees seem to have that one bright red branch and the rest of the tree is still hanging on to green.    So with that in mind you can't really make a mistake when coloring fall leaves.  Red, orange, yellow, green, its all good.
For this card I used stamps from the "For all things" stamp set.  I really liked the watercolor look to this set.  I decided to take that watercolor look just a step further by using my Aqua Painter on the stamped image to blur it even more.

I started out by stamping the image onto Naturals White card stock.  This card stock is heavier than Whisper White.  You can use Watercolor paper as well, but I like to use Naturals White because of the cost and it works very nicely.   I stamped the leaf into Crushed Curry ink, then rolled the edges in Cajun Craze.  Sometime I also use a marker to add a dab of the second color, what ever works for you.

Next take your Aqua Painter and go over the inked image with a slightly damp brush.  Your colors will blend together so prettily.

If you feel you want to add a bit more color you can pick up a bit of ink from your ink pad lid and add a bit more to your image.

Even if you stick to just one color, adding that bit of water with the Aqua Painter really softens your image.

Once the ink is dry you can even stamp on top of the leaves with another stamp as I did in this version.

The ribbon is actually the Natural Chevron ribbon turned upside down.

The Acorn stamp that comes in the set is great for decorating the inside of the card.  I had already wrote a message in the card before I remember to take a picture, oops!  But I love how the acorns look after I gave then a light brush with the Aqua Painter.

Four Feathers Stamp set

I saw this card on the Stampin' Up! customer home page and decided to make it too!  It is so easy yet so cute and I just love the colors of fall.  I stamped the Mossy Meadow and Hello Honey feathers directly onto some Very Vanilla cardstock.  I then stamped the Tangelo Twist feather onto a Very Vanilla scrap and cut it out with the matching framelit dies.  I love any stamp that comes with a matching die don't you?  I added some gold splatter to the Vanilla piece and distressed the edges up with my distressing tool.  I framed the Very Vanilla in a piece of Mossy Meadow and then attached it all the a card base of Crumb Cake.  The gold sequins are just a bit of fun.

When I inked up the feathers I gave them a bit of a spritz with my Stampin' Mist to make the inks bleed a bit.  I may have been a bit too timid, next time I will give it an extra spray to give an even bigger bleed effect.

MDS Blog Hop ~ What are we working on?

It's MDS Blog Hop day! Yea!  We love to bring this Blog Hop to you because we all really enjoy working with My Digital Studio and we want you to love it too.  We hop on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month.  Hopefully you have come from Cori's blog, where you have surely seen something great.  If not, hop all the way around by clicking the next buttons after each blog post until you get back here, that way you are sure you didn't miss anything!  Today we are showing off what we are currently working on it MDS.  I am working on FALL! I love fall and I have noticed some leaves changing and really wanted to play around with some leaves for a Fall themed card.  One of the great things about MDS is the stamp brush sets and the ability to resize them and recolor them.  I love that some of my favorite old stamp sets are available as downloads.  The French Foliage stamp set was always a favorite of mine and I was really happy that it was made available as a digital stamp.  I love to use digital stamps in Hybrid projects. To make this card I made the background as a digital card base and then made a second page of all leaves to cut out and attach to my card.

You can add multiple colors to your digital stamps using the "Coloring Tool"  just like you can when you use markers on your rubber stamps.  If you would like to see more on the coloring tool, visit my digital only blog where I give step by step directions.

I played around with different embellishments and buttons on my card.  I love that Stampin' Up's Digital products and physical products work so seamlessly together.

Thanks for stopping by!! Next up on the Blog Hop is Holly!  Holly's pages in MDS are always stunning so I am sure you will be inspired when you visit her blog!

Haunted House

Having fun with all the pieces of the Holiday Home Stamp set.  There are so many parts to this set you can use it for so much.  The houses are great for neighborhood get togethers, new house or moving cards. Use the smaller stamps to set your homes in winter, spring, summer or fall.  Halloween or Christmas.  For this card I paired the Holiday Home set with the Motley Monsters Designer Series Paper.

The extra thick twine is fun to fluff up.  I used two layers here for an extra fully tag topper.

I made a tag with Kraft paper and the tag topper punch, then cut the house out with the Homemade Holiday framelit dies.  I placed a bit of Basic black cardstock behind the Kraft tag with a layer of dimentionals in between to add some interest and shadow.
