Winter Wonderland

This card is super simple, and the photo is not doing it justice.  I have taken many shots and just can't get it but really just trust me, its really pretty :)
I started out by using a post-it-note to mask off the bottom of the card so that I would have space for the sentiment and embellishment.  Then I just stamped the tree images over and over, high and low.  Then I stamped my sentiment and added the strip of washi tape and the little wooden snowflake.  These snowflakes are super cute and I just ordered a couple more packs because I think they will be great on little treat holders and more cards.  I really like them.

What you can not see is the glitter.  I wanted to use Dazzling Diamonds, which show up great to the eye, but not in a photo.  I used a two-way glue pen to add splatters of glue.  I did this by getting the tip really wet and letting some glue drop, and also just by randomly adding dots of glue on the trees.  Then I sprinkled the page with Dazzling Diamonds and shook off the excess. It looks sort of like how snow looks falling on your windshield.
The card is based off the one in the Holiday Catalog, almost exactly really, but I wanted to show it to you anyway because maybe you will give it a try and come to love this stamp set as much as I do before it goes away.  I didn't think I needed it because I have Lovely as a tree (really who doesn't) but I bought it anyway and wow I like it.  I am seeing so many fun things with it and as soon as I get back from Thanksgiving I am going to try the one where you stamp directly onto the Woodland embossing folder and then emboss, so that the pine trees end up behind the embossed birch trees.  This looks great and I don't know why I haven't done this yet.Check out all the fun samples I saved at Pinterest!  Love the little Rudolph.

Thankful for you treat pouches

Hello my stamping friends!  Today I am sharing a fun little treat pouch that I made recently.  I made 50 of them to be exact.  I love the little pillow box die and knew it would be the perfect thing for small favors for the teacher's dinner.  The PTA makes a dinner for the teachers during the parent teachers conferences and I am on the teacher appreciation committee this year.  I made cup cakes for their dessert, and I put one of these little pouches at each place setting.

I started by making the center images for the pouches.  I used markers to ink up the image, then punched them out with the 2 inch circle punch.

I was able to get 12 out of a sheet of 8 1/2 by 11 cardstock.

Next I cut out all the pillow boxes, using the Old Olive scraps to also pouch out the leaves.

I wrapped some of the thin gold thread around my fingers and then I adhered it to the back of the main stamped image.

I then adhered my leaves, three paper and one burlap.

I then attached the center piece to the pillow box, which I had wrapped with a fun strip of designer paper from the Into the woods collection.

I closed one end of the box with my bone folder.  If you rub the bone folder against the scored edge the flap closes very nicely and you do not need to use any adhesive on the ends.

I filled the pouches with chocolates and mints.

I made ten in each color. I choose the colors straight from the colors in the designer series paper.

I hope you like my project.  Thanks for stopping by!!

November My Paper Pumpkin ~ Mistletoe and Holly

I got my November My Paper Pumpkin today and it is so pretty!  I love it! It is called Mistletoe and Holly and contains supplies for 10 cards.

Here is what you get.  And I want to point out that Stampin' Up! says that you just need to add your favorite adhesive and you are good to go, but I have not had to break out any of my own adhesive to put the kits together in a long time.  and I always have left over dimentionals and glue dots.

Here is a close up of the stamp set.  Very nice, perfect addition to my stamp stash.  You also get a Cherry Cobbler ink stamp spot.

The cards are really pretty, I love the colors and the cute "berries".

The Mistletoe card is really nice to, with pearls for berries.  And do you see the fun envelopes?  The outside is Cherry Cobbler and the inside has a fun pattern.

Do you get My Paper Pumpkin?  Wish you did?  Click the My Paper Pumpkin tab to the right of my post and join.  Build up a get collection of stamps and ink, and make cute projects each month.  As a subscriber, you can also get past kit refills so that you can make more of the same projects, or make alternate projects with the supplies.  There is a whole Pinterest Page devoted to sharing other things you can do with your kits!  You can cancel at any time. On Stage Live

Last weekend I was at On Stage Live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  This was the first global event from Stampin' Up!  The live event was in Brussels this time, but then there were people gathered all over the globe watching the event via video and also having our own demonstrations and events in our conference too.  I drove up to Milwaukee, which is about an hour and a half away.  There were events in several US citeis, but I forget which ones.  These events will be every 6 months, sometimes the Big event will be in the USA, like it will in April, and sometimes in other countries as the company expands to other global markets. Local events will move around.  I was happy to see that there was one so close to me this time.   It was really fun and I will definitely be doing it again, but next time I want YOU to come too!  Join my team and stamp with friends.  We have fun and get lots of stamping goodness.  Check out my haul!

At check in we got a fun tote and water bottle, as well as a nice planner and pack of Stampin' Up! logo pens.  We also got a new stamp set called Happy Home which works with the Hearth and Home Framelit Dies from the soon to retire Holiday Catalog.

The following photo contains a sneak peek of some of the items in the new Spring Occasions Mini Catalog.  This catalog goes live on January 5th!  Don't worry, I will be sending out catalogs to my regulars so you don't miss a thing!

By the end of the event my stash had expanded to three stamp sets, One pack of paper, two new catalogs and 4 make and takes. I also took a lot of photos from the display boards.

These were my make and takes. I really loved the floral set, the framelits had fun dimension to them and the colors were pretty and tropical.  I also like the one with the globe!  The papers were amazing with artist hand painted marbling and constellations and maps inspired by reality.

Here is a closer photo of the floral one.  Look closely at the petals, the die cuts out that little slit to give the petal extra dimension. And that framelit set is a biggie with 14 dies!

This card is really fun, sort of masculine but also good for my hubby because it has maps and globes and things like "I thank my lucky stars for you" and "Worlds Best Dad" and "you mean the world to me".  And the papers are really amazing.  There is a world map embossing folder with this collection too that is fab!

Bottom line, if you liked the Holiday catalog and thought there was  a lot you wanted from that one, you are going to feel the same way about this one!  It is full of great new products and ideas!
So, how can you possible get all that you want without breaking the bank?  Think about becoming a demonstrator.  The title is a bit scary for some who don's want to "demonstrate" but don't worry, you don't have to.  You can be your own best customer.  Or get a small group of friends together and stamp with them once a month or so.  Just make it a hobby, or make it a full time job, its up to you!!
Get $125 worth of products for just $99.  And you can get items from the new Spring catalog early when you are a demonstrator!!  Demonstrators get 20% off all their purchases, more when you meet certain milestones, as well as other perks like an exclusive website where you can see lots of sample ideas and connect with other demonstrators to share ideas.  You also get a quarterly magazine with fun ideas for business building or project samples.  You also get early purchases and points to redeem for free products or other things like the event I just went to in Milwaukee.  Lots of fun!! Click the Join my team tab at the top of my blog!  Contact me with any questions you may have, I am happy to help!!

Remarkable Magnolia

Hello my stamping friends!  Today I am sharing a card I made recently for a card swap I participated in.  I just LOVE the Remarkable You stamp set because the images are big and bold, perfect for my favorite product, the Aqua Painter!  I love the Aqua Painter because I can feel like an artist even though I am not, and it give me a sort of peaceful feeling.  Love it!

Here is a close up.  Just some simple brush strokes, so no talent needed :)

I started by stamping the image with Sazon ink on watercolor paper.

I then colored the stem with Old Olive Ink.

Next I added Blushing Bride.

Rose Red accents were then lightly added on top of the Blushing Bride ink.

I then added some Pool Party ink to the background to make the flower stand out even more.

This is a really simple card but it looks great.  I hope that you will give Aqua Painters a try.  Maybe they will become your favorite thing too!

See, I love my Aqua Painters.  I bring them on vacation or when I will have lots of waiting around.  I can't bring all my ink pads on the plane or in my suitcase, so I have these little stackable watercolors. Aren't they cute?  You need Aqua Painters, really you do!

Thanks for stopping by!!
