Sea of Textures ~ Watercolor Smoosh

Hi Everyone! I thought I would share a card I made this week for a Swap I am participating in.  I used the new Sea of Textures stamp set and coordinating dies.  When you buy the stamps and dies together as a bundle, you save 10%!

I really love the dies with this set, they have several extras, such as sand-dollars and a new, some coral and sea grass.  Really fun for cards and scrapbook pages.

I love to watercolor, so I decided to make an interesting background with the watercolor smoosh technique.
I used the new Granny Apple Green and Balmy Blue inks, as well as Night of Navy.
This technique is simple to do and gives a fun background.  Check out the video to see it step by step.

I hope that you will give this technique a try! And when you do, let me know about it.  Chat with me on my Facebook page at Beth's Paper Cuts!

Father's Day Tiny Treat Box Favors

Hi Everyone!  If you have been a blog follower for awhile you know that I make a lot of party favor type projects.  Today I am sharing a cute little life preserver treat holder with Lifesaver candies inside.
These use the Tiny Treat Boxes and they are just such a cute size, 2 x2x2 inch boxes.  And not too big that it costs a fortune to fill them up.  I was able to get 10 wrapped lifesavers in each one.

I used the 'Happy' and 'Father's Day' stamps from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set. This is a great stamp set to have on hand as it has so many little words to mix and match for many occasions.

The 'You're a Lifesaver' comes from the March Paper Pumpkin kit.  I want to do a little ad for the paper Pumpkins right now!  They are so great because each month you get some pre-designed cards or treat holders or some combination of the two, and all the supplies needed to make them, but then once all that is done, you still have the stamp set and ink spot to use again and again.  Your stamp collection will thank you. I am always going to my Paper Pumpkin stamps for just the right sentiment.  And ink spots are great for inking up word stamps and not getting them all inky from the big pads, or for inking up a stamp on your Stamparatus!   You should definitely look into signing up for Paper Pumpkin. Click the link to the right or contact me for more information.
I made a quick video for how to make the cute life preserver.

The Tiny Treat Boxes are great, consider keeping some around!  Here is a past favor I made with them, filled with citrus truffles from Lindt.

Using Decorative Masks with Bleach

Hi Everyone! Today I would like to share some cards I made while playing around with  the Decorative Masks and Bleach.  I used bleach on  a card a very long time ago and I figured it was time to do it again.  Of course as soon as I got it into my head to try it, I realized I was out of bleach.  So, the next time I was out at the store I picked up a bottle and later sat down to use it.  I got everything out and ready, cardstock cut and applied the bleach with a sponge.  I thought I would see instant change as I remembered happening before, but nothing happened.  The cardstock looked wet, but it did not change color.  I waited a bit to see if it would change eventually, but no.  Then I noticed something on the bottle of bleach.  'Color Safe'   What?!? How did I not know about color safe bleach?  I was so surprised. I am always so careful about dealing with bleach near the laundry for fear of splashing any on fabric.  Now my laundry is safe, but I couldn't do my craft project.  Next time I was at the store, I looked more carefully at the bleach and bought one that is called 'Splash-less'.  It is a bit thicker to reduce the chance of splashing and accidentally ruining my clothes! And, It is not color safe so I can do my craft projects! YAY!
I finally got to do the card that was floating around in my head for weeks.  The way the bleach reacts to cardstock is different from one color to the next, so try it out on a scrap piece first.  Notice how lime-yellow the Tranquil Tide cardstock turns.  The Balmy Blue turned a soft not quite white/not quite ivory color. I made a short video with tips and tricks to the cards.

My cards use Oh So Eclectic stamps and dies, I love the layering possibilities with this collection.  The sentiment is from Love What You Do.  I hope you like this idea and give it a try.

Guest tutorial writer ~ Coffee Painting

Hi everyone.  I was honored to be asked once again to make a tutorial for SplitcoastStampers, one of my all time favorite websites! This time they asked me to make a tutorial for a card I made a few years back where I painted with coffee!  I love painting with coffee, maybe it's the smell that it gives off while I work or just that it's my favorite drink, but it's a fun idea and people get a kick out it when they receive a coffee painted card, so I just love doing it.  I hope that you will give it a try.

You can find my tutorial here at the SplitcoastStampers website. https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/coffeepainting  There are step by step instructions as well as a video that I made.
If you do give it a try, please add your creation to the gallery, I would love to see it!
My tutorial card uses a stamp called Coffee Cafe by Stampin' Up!.   I also made another card by just painting free hand.

I hope you enjoy the tutorial, leave me some love if you check it out!
