Graduation Cap card

Hi stampy friends! I am last minute making Graduation Cards. I need 12 by Sunday and it's Friday!

This year I am using the Cap and Gown Stamp Set from Stampin' Up! I know it's late to be showing you graduation cards! I have been behind in making them because I have been distracted by the fun new Annual Catalog and the thousands of Cicadas in my yard (I actually like them and have been making projects around cicadas!) I do give some alternate suggestions for stamp sets that may be in your stash in case you are last minute like me!

This first card is fairly simple. I used Basic Black and Basic White cardstock. My graduates are stamped in Black Memento ink and colored in with shades of color with Stampin' Blends.

The patterened paper on the side is retired from the Rock and Roll Designer Series Paper Pack, but you can look for other Black and White patterns in your stash.

I made some with Red Caps and Sleeves, for a school color, but I had to get them in the mail and forgot to take a photo first. These would be easy to customize.

This Cap Card is super fun and you can easily add a spot for a gift card or money.

I made the tassel with some retired Baker's Twine.

Wildly Flowering Suite

Hi stampy friends. Today I am playing around with the new Wildly Flowering Suite from Stampin' Up! This is a full suite with stamps, dies, designer paper, an embossing folder and embellishments.

This suite is featured in the new Annual Catalog.

I am traveling to a demonstrator event on Saturday and needed to make some swaps, what's a demo event without card swaps? and so I thought I would use this pretty new set.

I really like this paper, mostly I think, because I like the white flowers on the colored background. I think my favorite is the Wild Wheat.

Here is what I came up with for my first go with the suite. I need to make 18, so I wanted something pretty, but simple. I think I achieved that! For this Trio I used the 2022-2025 In Color Jute trim for my bows. The blue card is actually Misty Moonlight and the jute trim is Boho Blue, but I think it worked just fine. What's your favorite color?

For the swap I settled on Misty Mauve. I will use either the Misty Moonlight or Wild Wheat at one of my upcoming events. I also switched the jute trim out for linen thread, because I didn't think I had enough of the Mauve to finish all 18 cards. I used Stampin' Up! watercolor pencils to color in the little flower.

I'm sure I will have a lot of fun using this suite. I am going to copy that top card for sure! I also really like the paper patterns and want to recreate them in my art journal. They are so pretty!

Citrus Blooms Simple to Super

Today I am making swap cards with the Citrus Blooms Stamp Set. I love stamp sets that work with coloring techniques and this set is great for coloring. The images are perfect for a variety of mediums and I really enjoyed coloring in the oranges.

I need to make 18 cards and decided to use Watercolor Pencils for the swap. Stampin' Up! watercolor pencils are a really great way to color your stamped images and they are an economical choice as well. You can get a whole set of pencils for $18 for the larger Assortment 1 or $14 for Assortment 2. Get both sets for just $32. The pencils can be used just like, well pencils, but you can also use them with water to get a watercolor look, or Blender Pens to get more of a marker look. So simple to use and you can layer colors to get even more color options. I made a video a while back showing many ways to blend and use these pencils. You can see it here.

The for the first card, I kept it simple using just the stamp set. I stamped in memento black ink and colored the oranges with Stampin' Up! Watercolor Pencils. The sentiment was stamped on a die cut from Balmy Blue with the Stylish Shapes dies.

On this next card I added even more steps. I used Blending Brushes on the background in Balmy Blue. I then added the die cut oranges in a separate layer, colored with Watercolor Pencils and popped up on dimensionals. I added some gold foil branches behind the oranges and some additional Pumpkin Pie flowers with rhinestone centers sprinkled around the card.
