Make a Sunburst Background

I loved the sample that Stampin' Up! made for the Flyer for the Waves of the Ocean collection.  The papers and dies for this collection are just so lovely.  I wanted to recreate all the cards they showed using it.  Years ago Stampin' Up! had a die that cut out a sunburst background. I no longer had the die, so I needed to hand cut my sunburst. I gave it a try and it was easier than I thought.

I started by finding the center of my paper. Then I used a ruler to draw lines diagonally across the paper going around the whole piece.

Next I cut out every other section, almost to the center but not quite so that every other sections stays in tact.  Save the sections that you cut off though, because you can reassemble them to make a second card.

Add adhesive to the back side and then attach it to your card base.

Here is a full length video for this card with more tips and tricks.

The amazing papers are only available for a limited time.  They are made from photos of acrylic pour paintings. I have a video for how these papers were made on my Facebook Page:

The Waves of Inspiration stamps and Waves dies are an early release from the next Annual Catalog that comes out in a couple months.

I can't wait to see what those samples look like!
