Radiant Sunflowers

Fall is my favorite season and there are so many new stamps and papers with pretty fall vibes right now.

The Sunflower Fields suite was one of the first things in my cart from the newer releases. I love that it has TWO paper packs that coordinate with the stamps and dies. There are also ribbon and embellishments. This is such a pretty suite. You can shop the whole suite here:

At a recent get together with some of my other stamping friends, Donna brought this card to our swap. I get together with Donna and a few other demonstrator friends for a Shoebox Swap each month where we each bring a card design and then pass the shoebox of supplies around so we all get to make one of each other's designs. Its a fun time to chat, catch up and create and eat :)  This also helps us come up with ideas for our classes so we don't have to always come up with things ourselves.  This was Donna's card last time and I thought it would be a good one for my Stamp Camp. She has allowed me to share it.  You can find Donna's site here.

I changed the card just slightly for Stamp Camp because I wanted to include heat embossing, so my card ended  up like this...

The stamp was colored with Watercolor Pencils. The base of the card is Night Of Navy with just an inch removed from the right hand side. Designer Paper from the Lovely Blossoms Designer Series Paper Pack was added to the card base and to the strip on the right. A piece of Night of Navy cardstock 2 3/4 by 3 3/4 was adhered to the center of the card hanging just a tiny bit over the top flap. The Nested Essentials dies were used to cut out a piece of Basic Beige to mat the flowers, which were stamped on Basic White and then die cut with the Radiant Sunflowers dies. I used the left over 1 inch strip to make the sentiment, which is embossed in white. Under the sentiment is a Mossy Meadow gingham faux bow (love this ribbon).  A faux bow to me is one that looks like a bow but I didn't really tie it, I just looped it onto a strip of Tear and Tape so there is no knot that would make the card more bumpy.

I also make another version but this time I colored the flowers with Stampin' Blends. When I first get a new stamp set, I like to just stamp a bunch of the images and die cut a bunch of the dies and then just sort of play with the pieces till I run out. I stuck with Donna's color scheme of Night of Navy, Old Olive and changed the Pumpkin Pie to Calypso Coral. When using the pencils I used Daffodil Delight and switched to Darling Duckling when I used Stampin Blends. Here are some of the samples I made as I was playing with all the pieces.

These last two projects were the ones we ended up making at Stamp Camp. Everyone was surprised at how fast and easy the Diaper Fold treat holders were and they were a blast from the past for many of the attendees.

You can see a video for these projects on my YouTube channel.

If you purchase the Radiant Sunflowers bundle from me, I have an offer for you.  I will send out a kit that makes the card above, you will need to do the stamping and coloring but all the pieces will be cut for you, AND, you will get a downloadable PDF that has instructions for 4 completely different projects that use the Sunflower Fields Suite.
