Rudolph

Last month my youngest son was selling wrapping paper for school.  This month my oldest is selling popcorn for Boy Scouts and my youngest is selling candy bars!  Well, I didn't want to ask anyone to buy anything else.  So, when life gives you candy bars, make candy reindeer! I decided to just buy the candy bar case myself and use the candy bars at an upcoming stamp camp.  I think they turned out very cute!  I started off by measuring the candy bar to see what size paper I needed.  A while back I bought some of the grid paper Stampin' Up! sells .  It has the grid to make keeping things straight really easy, but it also has measurements along the bottom and sides.  I have been happily surprised at how much I like using this paper while making my projects.  Anyway, I made the paper an inch longer and three times wider to wrap around the candy bar.  I used sticky strip to adhere the wrapper.

Next I made my Rudolph.  I used the owl punch for the head by turning the owl upside down and cutting off the feet.  I used circle punches for eyes, and a larger circle for the nose.  The nose is made with red glimmer paper so that everyone knows its our favorite reindeer, Rudolph! I sponged the edges of the Soft Suede head with a sponge and some Soft Suede ink, to add some depth.   The antlers were made with a die cut called Swirls Scribbles.  I really like that die!  I used it for steam in this post (  http://bethrush-bethspapercuts.blogspot.com/2011/07/king-of-grill.html .)  I attached my reindeer with a dimensional sticky dot.  For some extra cuteness I made a collar for my reindeer, complete with little jingles bells from the Holiday Mini Catalog.
I added a little tag using stamps from the set Punch Pals, and the tag punch.
I think he turned out very cute!  I hope you like him!
Thanks for stopping by!!

    1. Hi, the owl punch is from Stampin' Up! You can get one by clicking on my Shop now tab under the blog header. That will take you to my Stampin' Up! website, from there you can shop the Stampin' Up! store (upper right corner) and click on punches. It is item # 118074 , $16.95. I love this punch and use it for so many animals. Here is what I did with it for Halloween http://bethrush-bethspapercuts.blogspot.com/2013/10/whoooo-will-owl-be-next.html
