One of the Creative Crew Challenges this month is to make a Photo Cube! I had never made one before so I was happy to give it a try. The directions can be found
here. The cube went together fairly quickly, and so did the decoration because I used slightly large pictures and did not leave myself a lot of room for embellishments.

You need a 12 x 12 piece of paper for this project. Score one side at ½", 3 ¼", 6", 8 3/4", and 11 ½". Score the other side at 2 ¾", 5 ½", 8 ¼", and 11".

You end up cutting away a lot of the paper, but no worries, I used the cut away piece on some cards, score lines and all. The score lines added some texture and looked good with my geometric patterned paper.

I attached my photos before folding up the box, it made it easier. I used sticky strip to adhere the flaps.

I decorated the top with a paper bow, but you could add another photo or embellishment. I bought a paper bow template the other day, and I wanted to try it out. I think the paper bows look really nice with double sided paper.
Thanks for stopping by!!
I cant figure out how you are assembling it after you cut away the paper??
ReplyDeleteHi, i wish i knew how to shoot video for my blog, maybe that will be something i work on in the new year. After you cut away the middle, and cut the little tabs, I added sticky strip to the tabs and folded up along the score lines. one square will completely cover another, so i added sticky strip there as well. i worked off the splitcoast stampers tutorial:http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/photo_cube/
