Hello everyone! Did you notice that the buttons are all on the retiring list? Well they are and I actually have quite a lot of buttons. I needed to come up with something for the kids in my church class to make for Mother's Day and I thought I would use some of my buttons. I found the cute little white pails at Target for just $1 and we dressed them up with some Washi Tape and buttons. We then made some button 'flowers' with some wire and some buttons. The kids really enjoyed stringing the buttons and making some pretty crazy 'flowers'.
I found the perfect size plants to go inside and we stuck our button flowers into the soil to pretty up the plants while we wait for the real flowers to bloom.
You can find some great things on sale right now as Stampin' Up! transitions to a new catalog. Check out the great deals at both the Clearance Rack and the Retiring List.

I love this project to do with children. I'm starting to offer Mom & Me classes and was looking for ideas and came upon your blog. Did you use glue dots to adhere to the white pails?
ReplyDeleteThank you for you inspiration,
Patty
Hi Patty! Yes, we used Glue dots to attach the buttons to the pail. glad you liked it, the kids had fun and the moms seemed to really like the flowers too!
DeleteThanks for the reply. I may try this for my next class. Have the buttons stayed secure on the pails?
DeleteMy first Mom & Me class is this Friday. We are altering journals and making 4 birthday cards.
