Autumn Greetings

Today is the first day back to school for my children. It looks a lot different than usual, since they are on their computers at home for school this time, but some of it remains the same. I heard things like, Olivia is in the same Art class as me and I'm nervous I wont know what to do. My Daughter even worried about what she would wear the first day because people would see her on the zoom call. She kept her jammy pants on though, since they wouldn't see that! Too Funny!

Anyway, back to school time puts me in the mood for all things FALL! I love fall and the changing leaves, the crisp air and the pumpkin spice lattes. I especially love the colors of fall. Today's card features Cajun Craze (which I think I only use from August to November each year), Early Espresso and Pretty Peacock. I love that Pretty Peacock on these cards! The Designer Series Paper on this card is actually from a Halloween suite called "Magic In This Night". Most of the papers in that collection are definitely Halloween, but many of the reverse sides are great for multi purpose. I show them all in the video below.

I used the Autumn Greetings stamp set and Autumn Essentials dies to create this card. I colored the little pumpkin with Stampin' Blends. The ribbon on this card is metallic copper! so pretty.

The greeting is on Sahara Sand. Normally I would use something like Vanilla or White for my greeting but I thought the muted look of Sahara Sand on this card worked a but better, and it's nice to shake things us a bit. I used the Layering Circles dies and Stitched Shapes dies for the greeting. I also sponged some Early Espresso around the Sahara Sand circle and the Sahara Sand piece on the inside as well.

The Autumn Greetings stamp set is so great for coloring techniques, but it would also look stunning just embossed in gold or copper! And check out those dies!! I love the wheat stalks!! and the edge dies are great for just about anything.

Above is a sample from the catalog. Look at all that detail. Gold foil wheat die cuts, sequins, lots of layers! So pretty. I am looking forward to coloring with this stamp!

On this last version of my card, I used colored pencils to color the pumpkin. The image has many small details and the pencils are perfect for getting them all. If the Stampin' Blends are a little too much for you to own, they do take up room and are a higher price point, watercolor pencils are a great coloring choice.
