Gingerbread Mummy

Hi Crafty Friends. Today I want to show you a cute way to use the Gingerbread Man die set from Stampin' Up! This is an adorable stamp and die set and I know that I will get a lot of use out of it for Christmas cards and treat packaging, but first I just had to make a mummy.

I started with a cut out Gingerbread man in Very Vanilla Cardstock and stamped a face on him. I sponged a bunch of scrap strips of Very Vanilla with Crumb Cake ink and glued them on top of the gingerbread man.  Then I flipped the gingerbread man over and trimmed off all of the scraps sticking out past the die cut gingerbread man.

To make the banner I used the mini Alphabet dies.  These dies are great for cards, scrapbook pages and more. The are unique in that they are on a larger die that cuts out multiple letters at once. You can go ahead and cut all the letters, or you can use strips of cardstock to cut out just the ones that you want.  I do it both ways depending on how many letters I need. I store any unused letters in a case I found on Amazon so that I can use them on future projects.

I used the Stylish Shapes dies to make the banner.  I cut out two of the long skinny banners and cut them in half.  To attach the banner to the mummy, I found it easier to do it in three parts, a middle string piece and two separate bows at the ends, attached with glue dots.  I then placed the banner pieces on top with Dimensionals.

I have a full length how to for this card on my YouTube channel with some tips and a few other Gingerbread Man samples. You can see it here:

I hope you like this project and will give it a try! You can see a full list of supplies below.
