Display Stamper for April OnStage!

Hi everyone! Today's post is an application to be a Display Stamper once again for the Stampin' Up! OnStage event this April! I have really enjoyed being a display stamper for the past OnStage events, and so I decided to try it again!  If you are not familiar with an OnStage event, I will let you know what it is. OnStage is a convention that is help twice a year by Stampin' Up!  The great thing about OnStage is that it is held in locations all across the US and the globe, so that many Stampin' Up! demonstrators from all over can attend.  There are new products being shown off and product demonstrations, samples and tips, motivational speeches and recognition for goals achieved.  It is a great time to meet with old friends and make new ones. Stampin' Up! puts up lots of displays and some are even made by demonstrators, which is what I hope to take part in.  We need to submit 6 projects, 3 cards, 2 3D items and a scrapbook page.  Here are my submissions.

First up is a Valentine Card.  I wanted to use all new products for this submission because the new Occasions Catalog starts TODAY and I want you to see all new things!  The Bee is a die from a new die set called Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits.  I also used the new Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. This new embossing folder is extra thick for a deep impression and it is a real WOW in person. I can't wait to use this again.
















This next card uses a new stamp set from the Sale-a-Bration offering.  Sale-a-Bration is an annual sale that gives you a FREE product for every $50 order.  The Sale-a-Bration offerings this year include stamps, ribbon, papers and more! This set is called Avant Garden.  I also used a lace stamp from another Sale-a-Bration set called Delicate Details.
The ribbon and sequins are from a special embellishment pack in the new Occasions catalog called Cupcakes and Carousels Embellishments.  The pack comes with the gorgeous Calypso Coral Ombre ribbon, the sequins, and tassels and paper labels and bows as well.











The last card uses a new set called Mediterranean Moments. I wanted the images to appear as though they were torn from a sketchbook.  To achieve this I used my paper piercing tool to poke holes down the left edge of the watercolor paper, and then I tore along the holes so the pages looked ripped from a book.  I used my aqua painter to add the watercolor look to the stamped images.
















My first 3D item is a treat holder made from the new baking stamp set called Perfect Mix.  I love to bake, so this stamp set made its way onto my first order! It is super cute.
I added the little oven mitt and spatula to the bottom for an even more homemade look.

My second 3D item is also a treat holder, but with Valentine's Day just around the corner I could not resist! I love these cute little monsters! Who wouldn't want a big monster hug for Valentine's Day?  Especially one filled with Dove Chocolate!! The Stamp set is called Yummy in my Tummy!! Those cute little bows are from the Cupcakes and Carousels embellishment pack I mentioned earlier, love them.  The paper is also new, from the Tasty Treats Designer Series paper.

My Scrapbook page uses another new stamp set called Everyday Hero!  This was the perfect stamp set for these photos of Jillian taken during the Super Hero themed summer reading program at our library two years ago!  This is a really fun new stamp set and I know I will be  making some fun cards and treat holders with it, maybe some end of year teacher gifts? I think so!!

Stampin' Up! On Stage event

Hi Everyone!  I am back from the Stampin' Up! On Stage event where I had a great time with some of my Stampin' Friends!  The event was in Madison Wisconsin so I just drove up.  I needed to be there the day before to set up the card samples that I made as a display stamper.  Here is me pointing to my name on the display stamper sign!  I was lucky to be chosen to be a display stamper once again, which meant that I was given a collection of items to use to make some samples with. I was assigned the Party Animal suite.  The Party Animal suite is a fun collection of Birthday stamps, papers and embellishments, and a fun set of dies that includes a pop-up feature! i was thinking to myself that this is a fun collection since I have three children, but then I realized, EVERYONE has a birthday!  We all have birthdays and we all know people and they all have birthdays, so really this is a set that is great for everyone!  Did you get into the "I'm Bringing Birthdays Back" campaign?  I did, I have been sending out a ton of Birthday cards this year!  I have noticed that my children get fewer and fewer real birthday invitations and instead get 'evites' and online gift cards. With all the yucky mail that we get these days, bills, advertisements, and lately political postcards, wouldn't you like to get a pretty card for your birthday or an 'I'm thinking of you' card just about any day?  I would!!














Funny story, there was a gamers convention going on at the same time as our Stampin' Up! event and as I was wandering away from our area in search of coffee I came across so many crazy characters! Some scary, 99% of which I didn't recognize.  I finally came upon a familiar face, a stormstooper, and asked if there was coffee on this planet.  He said I had obviously lost my way and needed to return to my own universe. So true I said, but I needed fuel first.   They did let me take their photo so I could remember them when I made my return journey to my Stampin' Up! universe.  I was actually wearing Princess Leah hair just 6 days before at a trunk or treat event at our Church, and the same sweater I see too!

  Back to the stamps!  This is my display!

These are the items we received at check in.  We also got a stamp set but I ended up bringing home a few and I don't remember which one I got in my bag,  My name badge had four ribbons on it this year!  I usually only have one or two so that was nice.  You earn ribbons for sales, recruiting, promotions and leadership.

This is my product haul.  I actually got another stamp set and now I can't find it :(  I am hoping it is just tucked somewhere odd and it will turn up.

 Really cute new Valentine's stamps with a collection of framelits.

 The paper here is really hard to see, but it is really pretty paper with a Bokeh effect.  The stamps are pretty for weddings and the dies are very frilly and make nice belly bands.









 And this card was a pop up, you can see the inside on the instructional slip.

 Another highlight was when my friend Mindy won the artisan award!  YAY!  Looking forward to some great projects from Mindy over the next year!

On Stage Live ~ Coming Soon!

Hi Everyone!  I wanted to share something with you that you may not be aware of.  Stampin' Up! has these fun events called On Stage.  They are twice a year, once in the US and once in one of the foreign markets.  This April it is in Utah and if you are a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, or become one (hint hint) you can go!  You can earn the cost of admission through sales as I did, or you can pay, as I have in the past.  It is worth it and lots of fun.  We have presentations on new products and get to play with some of them as well.  There is a a fun swag bag that has things in it like a new stamp set and some logo items.  We swap cards with other demos and look at displays of ideas and there is a fun Prize Patrol handing out even more stamps and papers and things!  Lots of fun! 

If you can't go to this one in Utah and wish there was one closer, don't be sad, there will be!  Last November the event was in Brussels, but there were local events held in cities all throughout the USA.  I went to the one in Milwaukee.  They has a jumbo screen that had video of the live event, but we had lots of live presenters as well, and we had the swag bag of gifts and the make 'n takes and the display boards, and it was lots of fun too! and no plane ticket :)  This November the event is in Brisbane, Queensland, a little to far for me :) so I will attend one of the events locally,  The cities for this November have not been announced yet, but will be spread throughout the country in major markets.  live near me? we could car pool!  or meet up at the event.
