Northern Lights Technique with Arctic Bears bundle from Stampin' Up!

I am still using the fun Polar Bears from the Arctic Bears stamp and dies from Stampin' Up! Today I am creating another style of background that mimics the Northern Lights.

Have you ever seen the Northern Lights in person? I have not, but I hope to one day! They sound so magical!

I used Sponge Daubers to add color in diagonal stripes across the background. On my first cards, I sponged the entire background. I then stamped and cut out the landscape on a separate piece of Basic White and glued it on top of the sponged sky.

I decided to try it again but this time I stamped the landscape onto the Basic White, and again on a Post-it note. I cut out the Post-it note and placed it on top of the stamped landscape to mask it from the sponging. This second version looks the same as the first and was pretty easy, so if you have a Post-It note, give that a try!

I love the sentiments that are included in the set. I chose the 'Thinking of You' sentiment for the front and added the 'My heart is with you every step of the way' to the inside.
