MDS Blog Hop ~ Summertime Fun!!

It's MDS Blog Hop time again!!  Twice a month I get to join my blog with that of several other super talented MDS Masters and I am so glad to be able to join them! This week week are celebrating Summer fun! Summer time can be crazy with so many things to do.  If you are like me you signed your kids up for various day camps and classes, and you've got camping and swimming, and those annual dentist visits too!  The great thing is that you can create with MDS fast or slow.  Open up your program and work for a few minutes and call it done, or visit your project a bit at a time and finish is over weeks if you like.  You don't have to have papers all over your dining room table, you don't have to get things out and put them away, just turn on your computer and click away! This is an example of a 5 minute project I admit.  I am preparing for a Stamp camp this weekend, and for the Stampin' Up! annual convention next week, and of course have all the running around of the typical house with kids in the summer, so 5 minutes was about all I had :)  But, I thin it is still super cute, how can it not be with those cuties, right?
I used the wave paper from the Anchors Away digital Download, and that is where I picked the colors to use on the other elements on my page.  The larger background paper is from the Be Yourself download, I thought it has a watery feel to it, perfect for pool pictures.
I hope that  you will continue along on our hop!  Next up is Holly!  I am sure you will find some great summertime fun inspiration at her blog!!

Beauty of the Season

Stampin' Up! is giving us a bit of a Christmas in July.  They are releasing a Christmas stamp set a bit early as a sneak peek.  The set is called Beauty of the Season and it features a lovely cardinal. I have a bit of a fondness for Cardinals as my daughter Jillian and I feed a family of cardinals every day.  They have been visiting us since October and chirp outside our window quite loudly when we forget.  The female has even flown onto the screen to watch us eat our lunch.

Such a pretty set and perfect for coloring, which I love to do!!

Dotty Angles meets Beautiful Bunch

Dotty Angles was one of those stamp sets that I put on the order and took off a few times before I finally hit submit.  It is just two stamps, photo-polymer, and I didn't know if I would use it much.  But, I am glad I ended up getting it because it is really fun for backgrounds! I found a card similar to this on Pinterest and so I decided to make it my first use of the stamp.

I started by inking up the stamp with the new Blackberry Bliss.  I stamped it down onto the paper with out re-inking it three times to get the various shades.  I just moved it slightly up and over each time.

The big flower is from the Beautiful Bunch stamp set.  I love a stamp that has a matching punch!  I inked the flower in blackberry Bliss and then used blender pens to color in the petals.  That pretty ribbon is the  new Mellow Moss stitched Satin ribbon.

A quick and easy card to put together.  Just add a sentiment at the bottom and you are done.

Regarding Dahlias meets Park Lane DSP

Hi Everyone!  Did you see that Stampin' Up! is having a buy 3get 1 FREE sale on packs of Designer Series Paper?  This is one of my favorite sales.  I am a bit of a paper hoarder, as those of you who came to my retired products garage sale saw first hand.
I love the bright colors of the Sweet Taffy paper, and the Confetti Celebration is full of fun patterns. This sale lasts all month long, so its a great time to stock up.

This card uses Park Lane Designer Series paper as a background.  Its a very busy pattern, but because they only used one color it really does make a nice background.  I used the Regarding Dahlia set for the large flower, which I stamped in Rose Red onto watercolor paper.  I used my Aqua Painters to color in the petals.

I used my Aqua Painters to color in the petals.  The main image is mounted onto Rose Red cardstock and then attached to an Old Olive base.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Christmas in July

I know, it's only July, but I wanted to let you know about some fun Christmas stamps that are still available but you may not know about.  Some of last year's Holiday stamps are available for a limited time, until August 27th.  This might be my Favorite, but you can click this link to see them all.
I like this one because of the "Bah Hum Bug" and "naughty nice".  I make lots of little Christmas candy bars and favors and those are fun to use with my Grinch.  The "do not open til Christmas" gets used a lot on gift cards, I add a fun dab of Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Diamonds Glitter Glue to his nose and its really cute.

This is a pretty good one too!  You've got Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Valentines day all in one.  The Punch is still available in the main Catalog.  I used them all but a popular one with my customers was the Thanksgiving stamp used on these Harvest Treats below.

And I seriously don't know how they will top the Festive Flurry Stamps and Dies?   These were so great for ornaments and gift tags and cards alike! So pretty.

Here I used the bundle on a card that had a removable ornament.

So, check out the Christmas items that will soon be gone and get them while you can!  Lots of fun stuff and you wont see mine for sale, I am keeping these goodies :)
Thanks for stopping by!!
