Orchard Harvest Fabic Fun!

I think this little cannery jar stamp set is just so cute!  The set comes with a lot of fun elements to add to the jar, apples, pears, flowers.  Very fun!  I made this card for the Creative Crew Challenges at Splitcoaststampers.  Our challenge was to create cards with fabric or other sewing related products.  I used the new Orchard Harvest fabric on my jar lid, cut out with the Cannery Framelit Dies, and stitched and tied with linen thread.  I like the dimension that fabric adds to the card.  I also used the paper piercing template and piercing tool.  The background paper is the very cute Orchard Harvest Paper.  I stamped my jar on a transparency sheet with black Stazon ink (regular ink wouldn't dry on a transparency sheet).  Thanks so much for visiting!  Why not try a card with some fabric or sewing themed elements yourself!

Tweet Leaves

I have been asked to be on the "Creative Crew" over at my favorite site Splitcoaststampers.  The Creative Crew is a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators who make cards and other projects using Stampin' Up! products to showcase items from the catalog and offer up some stampin' inspiration for visiters to the Splitcoast Stampers Gallery.  The leaders of the Creative Crew gove us Four monthy challenges.  One of the Challenges for this month was to make a Fall themed card, with a bit of sewing on the project.  Fall is probably my favorite time of year, weather wise.  I love the colors of fall and the cool air.  This new stamp set "Tweet Leaves" was one of the first stamp sets I bought out of the new Holiday Mini Catalog.  I new it would be great in my favorite colors and I loved the leaf shape to the image.  I colored the main image with my markers (cajun craze, more mustard, old olive, always artichoke, summer starfruit, cherry cobler and early espresso).  Stampin' Up! sells a co-ordinating Bigz Die for this stamp set that cuts out the leaf shape, as well as a few other leaf shapes.  I used the Die to make a mask, then used a sponge to ink around the mask to reveal the shape of the leaf around the stamp image.  That was a long sentence, hope it made sense : )  

 I cut the leaves out with a clear transparency sheet so I would be able to see where I placed the mask.

Here is a close up.  My sewing element was the stitching I added at the corners.  I thought the linen thread looked sort of nest like?  See that paper in the background?  That is the new "core'dinations" card stock.  It has a co-ordinating colored core, so when you tear or sand or dry emboss, you get the see the inside core color.  I used my woodgrain embossing folder and then lightly sanded to reveal the lighter crumb cake center.

Leftovers

I'm not a huge fan of leftovers, food left overs that is.  And I guess the same holds true for left-over card pieces from Stamp Camp or an Open House.   When I host a Stamp Camp, I try not to cut too many extra pieces for a card, so that I don't have a lot left over.  With an Open House this is harder to do, since you don't always know how many are going to come.  Way back in June I had a new Catalog Open House / Retired Products Garage Sale, and I cut a lot of pieces for  my make-and-take.  The baggie of pieces has been sitting on my desk since then and I finally decided that I needed to do something about it.      SO, rather than make a bunch of the exact same card, I decided to make each one different.  As you can see, the base of the card is all the same.  My favorites are the owls from the Owl Occasions stamp set.

 

I also like these little birds from the For the Birds set. 

Now, I have a good sense of accomplishment because I have finished my leftovers!

Stampin' Up has decide to extend the 31% off select  MDS products until September 14th!  This is great because I can probably get a few more pages done and ready to print at 31% off!!  Yippee!  I am at 28 pages right now!   The 31% off sale included all print products (pages, photo books etc) and selected digital downloads, even a content CD.  I looked over the list and thought I would show some pages I made with some of the downloads I already had. 
This one uses the One Great Year digital kit. 

It comes with papers and lots of embellishments, mostly calender pieces like names of the month, dates, "birthday" "anniversary" etc.  great to make a digital calender, but also great for cards and scrapbook pages.

















This is the Playful Polka Dots kit.  It has fun bright colors, lots of flowers and pretty border strips, and journaling labels.  I made some cards with it on my digital blog.

Sweetly Nested Family tree.  This is a cute template.  The tree comes already done for you as a template page, but you also get stamps images of the tree trunk and leaves, as well as the brackets.  You can add to or delete from the template.  you also get the birds and heart flowers in your embellishments.  The great thing about this is, I can make one for each of my three children and I only have to change the one text box at the base of the tree :)


The World Traveler Photo Book template may seem like something you wont use, but if you had it, you would.  I wont use the template as it is, but the papers that come with it are really great.  It also comes with some great tags. 

I used the tags here one this page.   The background paper and journaling label also come with the kit. 














This also used the world traveler kit.  The map paper is of the great lakes, which is where the picture takes place!

The papers on this one are also from the world traveler kit.  I filled the punches letters in with the papers too, and the tag in one of the included embellishments.

And I love the Blast Off kit, but I haven't made anything with it yet!

Mouthwatering Watermelon

This fun card was made by another demonstrator named Lisa Vanco.  I thought it was just so bright and fun.   And, the watermelon is embossed in scented embossing powder!  How cool is that?   While shopping for school supplies the other day I can across little watermelon candies and so I just had to recreate Lisa's card into a treat holder.    Thanks Lisa!

I used markers to ink up the stamp, (lucky limeade and melon mambo) colored in the seeds with a black marker, then stamped it onto Whisper White paper.  I then pressed the image into a versamark pad and sprinkled it with Melon Scented Embossing powder.   Next I used my heat tool to melt the Embossing Powder and cut the image out.

Frosty Friends!

I think these little snowmen are so cute!  I love the one with the antlers on his head, and the baby snowman reaching up to momma.  cute cute!  And I love stamp sets that are good for coloring, so that sealed the deal, I had to have it.  The set is called Frosty Friends and it is in the new Holiday Mini catalog.   I used slightly non-traditional reds and greens for this card.  The green is Wild Wasabi and the Red is Rose Red.  Also added are silver glimmer paper, for some added snowy-ness :)  and a vintage faceted buttons.  Its a sort of feminine Christmas card.












I colored the images with my blender pens, which make for a softer look.  I just added a tiny bit of bashful blue to the snowmen for some depth. 

I added the ribbon ruffle by putting sticky strip on the back of the cardstock and gathering the ribbon onto the stick strip. 

The "Sending Christmas Wishes" sentiment is from the Joyous Celebrations set, also in the Holiday Mini Catalog.
