Spider Cider

More Craft Fair items.  This one is a cider packet, made with the Monster Munchies stamp set.  I've made this pouch with the ribbon pull many times.  Here I made it as a mummy.   I found the tutorial here on my Favorite Site SplitcoastStampers.com.  You can change the measurements to fit your needs, just add an inch and a half to the height of the object you want to put in your pouch, and make the paper wide enough to wrap around.  Here I embossed the spider cider stamp in black and added some googlie eyes.  I used the Spider web embossing folder to add the web texture, love that folder!  I highlighted the main image with the Window Frames Framelits collection dies. 

I made them in Basic Grey and Basic Black.  The grey ones have some sponged black ink on the web to help it stand out.

Super Cute GingerBread House!

A fellow demonstrator made this cute little house at a recent district Demonstrator meeting.  I made a bunch for the craft fair and they are so cute, fast and easy!  The base is the Mini Milk Carton Die for the Sizzix Big Shot.  If you don't have a big shot, you should really think about asking for one for Christmas or other gift giving times because I do think it is something I use just about every day.   The milk carton can be dressed up for just about any holiday or party favor.  Punched circles are used as gumdrops along the bottom, and a gingerbread man is made from the "Got Treats" stamp set.  Layered tag punches were used for the door and the roof was made with the scallop trim border punch.  The Roof Dimensions are 4 1/4 by 2 inches, and is held on with a clip of any kind so that the roof can come on and off to access the candy or money or whatever you want to put in it.  I added a little bow with some retired ribbon from my stash.  This is a cute party favor for class parties or Holiday table decorations at each place setting.  I am sure I'll be making a ton of these cuties this year!

The small tag punch was discontinued by Stampin' Up :(  but, if you act fast you can grab one on the Stampin' Up! Clearance Rack.  I just checked today and there are some left.  You could also punch another large tag and then trim it down. 

 

 

 Some glitter was added to the roof to make shimmery snow.

Frightening Feline!

I love the cat on this card.  The stamp is called Frightening Feline but I think its just adorable.  I used Tangerine Tango to ink it up, then went over the whiskers with my Basic Black marker.  I sponged around the image with Tangerine Tango and Basic Black.  The cute little Happy Halloween stamp is from the Delightful Dozen set.  I cut my image and mat out with the Windows Collection framelit dies, and I pierced the black layer using the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack.  The paper is from the Designer Series Paper  Howlstooth & Scaringbone.  Cute!  I added some rhinestones around the cats neck. This is also for the Creative Crew Step it up Challenge.  The non-stepped up card is below.

 

 

Orchard Harvest Thank you cards

The challenge this month at the Splitcoast Stampers Creative Crew gallery is to make a card, and then make a stepped up version.  These are the projects I made for the DSP color focus challenge, using the Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper.  I love the leaves in this paper, vibrant and fun!  In the basic card I kept it clean and simple, with just a bit of ribbon and a button to embellish the card.  In the stepped up verison I sponged the Very Vanilla card stock for a bit more depth, turned my ribbon into a bow, and added another bow in twine on the botton.  I also added a second layer to the framing around my main image.  I cut some Cajun Craze with the Fishing Touches Edgelit Die. 














I love the wood-like look to the Naturals Designer Buttons and the ruffle on the ribbon.

A bit of sponging adds depth.

Happy Halloween!

It was fun to find these pictures from 1993!  Ben and I were married in 1993 and one of the things we loved to do was spend time with friends in our new apartment.   We hosted game nights and dinners and one of my favorites, Pumpkin Carving!!  I made this page for the Creative Crew challenge at Splitcoast Stampers.  I was going to make a digital page, but found these photos and felt like making a traditional page.  I did use My Digital Studio for the title and tag, and I've explained all that on my Digital Blog, click on over if you would like more details, there is a link in the right hand column of this blog.

Sponges

I had someone ask me about the paper tab on my sponges from the post the past few days.  Here is how I make them.   I used the rounded tab punch, which has been discontinued, but you can use any punch really.  It is a nice place to hold the sponge and not get your fingers all inky.  I then attached the paper to the sponge with a brad.  Easy Peasy.  I used to not have a sponge for every color, but every once and a while I would mess up a project because a sponge I used for blue tones had too much of a greenish blue or something on it and my colors ended up not true to life.  The are actually not very expensive.  You get three sponges for $3.50 and I cut them into 6 pieces each, so 18.  This container (from the container store ) holds the perfect amount for Stampin' Up's core colors.  I do have some extra sponges for when I need to use the In-Color collection.  I have them all by color family, and there is a sponge dauber in each square too.  The sponge Daubers are 12 for $10.95.

Another Halloween Purse!

Another Halloween Purse.  They are just so much fun!  Same Die as the past few days, the Petite Purse Die.  I ran the Bacis Black Cardstock through the Big Shot with the Spider Web Textured Embossing Folder.   The ears and teeth are points from a star punch.  The wings are made with an oval punch and a small circle punch. I folded a small flap into the wings and attached them with glue dots.  The eyes are fun Glimmer Brads.  You could also make paper eyes but I thought those glimmer brads give this bat a Vampire Bat look, perfect for Halloween.
