Free Cake!

Who doesn't love Free Cake?  Actually my husband and my daughter are not so into cake, they prefer pie or ice cream, crazy people. I love a good cake.  Anyway, have you noticed the set "Free Cake" in the annual catalog?  I think it is a super fun stamp set.  And at my age, the 'you're not old, you're retro' sentiment is actually quite fitting.  The music of the eighties and clothes and all of that are all considered 'retro' not.

I loved the card sample in the catalog and based this card for my Card Buffet on that.

I created the brick background with versamark, white embossing powder and the decorative masks.   I made a video how to for this below.

After Card Buffet was over I had a couple kits left over so I decided to make them up using all the same supplies, but this time using the cake from the stamp set.  I love the 'Yay, Free Cake... I mean, Happy Birthday."  too funny.

I did not use the brick wall on this one, because I wanted quicker, so I embossed the background with the Sparkle Embossing folder.  I used Gold Embossing power on the 'light' coming off the candles, and Wink of Stella over the cake image to give it a little shimmer.

Don't forget, Bonus days are going on!  Spend $50 and get a $5 to spend next month on items from the new Holiday mini catalog! (well, you can use the coupon on anything, but that new catalog is loaded with greatness I assure you!)
And, Beth's Paper Cuts special, buy an ink pad and get the refill for just $1.00.  Contact me for how to do that!   bethrush@issinternet.com

What is a Card Buffet?

Hi everyone!  You may have seen my posts or ads about my Card Buffet and you might wonder, "What is a Card Buffet?"   Card Buffets are super fun and are tailored to just what you need or want to do.  Just like at a Food Buffet, you can pick and choose just what you want to make.  I had a few people ask me about the card buffet that I run, and I thought I would share a quick video so that someone who is interested can see what it is like and get a better understanding of the types of things we do.  I run these twice a month, one evening and one daytime.  You can come to which ever fits your schedule and come and go any time during the time slot.  Customers and fellow Demonstrators are welcome. I hope that you will join me sometime!

Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop

Hi everyone! Today I am participating in the monthly Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop once again.  Scrapbooking Global is a Facebook page dedicated to scrapbooking with Stampin' Up products. Anyone can join, demonstrators or not, just so long as the images you add to the site use primarily Stampin' Up! products and are scrapbook pages.  This is great because there are so many places for card inspiration, but not so much for scrapbooking.  We started out small but quickly grew to almost 4,000 members! And there is so much sharing!  Just take a look at the photo gallery and you can't help but be inspired.

This month we are focusing on Memories and More Cards.  These cards were started for Pocket scrapbooking but with the intent of being multi purpose for use on cards, home decor or traditional scrapbook pages.  I have made a few pocket scrapbooks, usually when I am making a smaller book for a specific even, such as a vacation.  I love how the Memories and More cards make creating an album easy, with lots of places for journaling and cute accent cards.  For my page today I am using the Best Route collection.  I was very happy when this collection came out because it is a not a floral collection, with lots of bold and vibrant patterns, perfect for my family with 2 boys, 16 and 11.   I have always found it so easy to make pages with my daughter, but a bit harder for the boys.  The Best Route collection is perfect, I love the patterns and the colors.  My 16 year old just got his drivers license so some of the paper patterns from the coordinating Designer Series Paper collection were perfect!  The photo was taken just after he passed his driving test and was given a temporary license to use while waiting for the official version to come in the mail.
I used three cards from the Memories and More collection.  One was used for journaling. The other two I cut up and  layered to use as an embellishment.

I used a paper punch to punch out the main image from the card, then layered parts of another card as a banner and put the punched out circle back on top.
The card pack also comes with some stickers, which I used for accents on the page.

I hope you like my page.  It was fun to make.  Continue along on the Blog Hop and check out the rest of the pages! I am sure you will find some inspiration to create your own pages using Memories and More cards

You can cancel at any time, but I think you will really like these kits and this is the best time to join because we are close to the fall/holiday season and those have been some of my favorite kits and stamp sets.  Well, I think my favorite was the one from April with the Anchor and lighthouses, I love that stamp set,  perfect for my summer vacation scrapbooks and cards for my family.  But, when you are a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, you get access to past kits while they are available, and guess what! The anchor kit is! so are some other fun kits that you can see here, https://www.stampinup.com/ecweb/products/12402/past-kits     I feel like there are usually more past kits, but these are fun and the stamps are great.  The birthday candle pull up card is fun and there is a tiny "pull" stamp that I still like to use on some of my cards with lift the flaps or cards with some sort of mechanical movement. That silly little 'pull' stamp makes me happy.
Anyway! join Paper Pumpkin for 50% off your first month, this is for new subscribers, so you would need to use an email that has not been used for any subscriptions in the past.

New Blended Season bundle and Free Kit offer

Hi everyone! Today I want to share a new, Limited Edition stamp set from Stampin' Up!  This stamp set is only available in August. I have to say that I just love it, the set is large and the dies are just lovely! I especially like the stitched label set in three sizes.

The stitching on the dies is on both the inside and outside of the cut piece.  This is cool because you can use the negative piece to make a nice frame and it will still have the stitching.  clever!

Notice how here I cut out a label piece for my main card image, but I can still use the left over piece for another card.

On this one I used the largest and medium dies, then used the cut out on the Christmas card.

When you purchase the Blended Seasons Bundle in August I will send you a kit to make the 3 cards shown here. You will get all the cardstock, ribbon and embellishments needed, just use your own inks and adhesives.  watch this video to learn more! Use host codeVGA7FR4A.

Also just released is a new assortment of Watercolor Pencils! I was so happy to see this!!!  The new colors really add to the collection. Balmy Blue, Night of Navy, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green, Garden Green, Gorgeous Grape, Coastal Cabana, Cherry Cobbler.

Remember, I always share my host rewards with you! Don't forget to download the Frequent Buyer rewards program sheet and start earning points toward free stamps!
You can find the tracker under the blog header.

And to make matters even better, Bonus Days have started! Earn a $5 coupon for every $50 you spend in August, redeem the coupons in September! Just in time for the new Holiday catalog that goes live in September!
