One Template, Three Cards from Simple to Wow with Forever Fern

Hi Everyone! I have been enjoying the Forever Fern set for several days now! It is just so pretty.  The whole suite is beautiful and I can't wait to share it with you when the catalog goes live in just a little over a week from now.  While I can't show you the catalog images I can show you the stamps I have in hand, so here they are.  There is also a gorgeous collection of papers and embellishments that go with this suite, and I will show all that off in another video on Wednesday.  For now, I wanted to focus on the stamps.

I have a short video showing how to make all three versions of the card.

For this trio of cards I started with the simple Stampin' version. This version is a simple, inexpensive and easy to make card.  The card is flat, easy to mail, and does not require additional dies or a die cutting machine.  The Distinctive stamps make the card lovely all on their own.
I used Pear Pizzazz and Pretty Peacock inks as well as Pretty Peacock and Whisper White Cardstock.

This next version is stepped up a bit with the addition of the coordinating die collection as well as some gold twine.  The die cut pieces are popped up on Dimensionals, as is the Pretty Peacock sentiment piece.
This final version adds more sparkle to the card with the addition of the Laser cut gold leaves and the gems from the Flowers for every season collection.

What ever version of this card you make, it is sure to bring a smile to the recipient.  I hope you come back Wednesday to see the whole Forever Greenery Suite of products.

Watercolor with your Stamps featuring the Celebrate Sunflowers set

The Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set was still out on my desk, so I decided to use it for water-coloring.  I naturally reached for my yellow ink pads, Crushed Curry and Daffodil Delight, but then I changed my mind and went for the purples, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape.   I ended up doing both. I really like how the Purple turned out, but I thought maybe the Yellow was more traditional.  Which do you prefer?

The purple version starts with a base of Purple Posy and a mat in Basic Gray.  I added some of the new In Good Taste Designer Series paper for my background.  The In Good Taste Designer Series Paper is sure to be a popular one.  The pages are each photos of textured items such as wood planks or tiles, plaster and textiles.  I show this paper in detail in the video below.
I stamped the flowers in Black Stazon ink onto Water Color Paper. The flowers were painted with my Aqua Painter and inks.  Here I used Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, Old Olive and Smokey Slate.   I decided to blacken the edges around the flowers to eliminate the Ivory color and to make the purples very bold.
Some scattered sequins were added for some sparkle.

This version uses Crushed Curry for the base, Early Espresso for the mat, and more of the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper for the background.
The flowers were stamped in Saddle Brown Stazon Ink. I colored the flowers with Crushed Curry, Soft Suede and Old Olive.  I added some gold thread and small gold metallic dots for more interest.

This video show the stamps, dies and papers in more detail, and gives you tips on painting the flowers and putting the cards together. I hope you like it!

The Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set will be in the new Annual Catalog which comes out June 3rd.  If you would like to get it early, there is a way!   When you join Stampin' Up! you can choose any $125 worth of current product, or specially selected upcoming products to form your Starter Kit for just $99! Celebrate Sunflowers Sneak Peek

Today I am playing around with some of my new Sneak Peek items that are coming out in the new Annual Catalog on June 3rd.  This stamp set is called Celebrate Sunflowers and it has a fantastic die collection to go along with it.
The set features a large sunflower stamp, approx 3 1/4 inches across. There are some nice sentiments for many occasions too.  My first instinct was to watercolor this stamp, and to grab some earth tones for my cards.  I stopped myself though because I had some pretty new colors on my desk, and I really wanted to use them.  I thought about grabbing a different stamp to start with, but changed my mind. I decided to go bold with the sunflower instead, and I like the results. I hope you do too! The new colors are Just Jade, Magenta Madness, Misty Moonlight and Bumblebee.  I made a video that shows how to make these three cards.

This first geometric card was a great one for a card swap I am participating in.  I stamped the entire sunflower on all four colors of cardstock, then cut them apart, giving me enough pieces for four cards.  I added some rhinestones for sparkle.

I love the embossing on this sunflower! That black and white are just beautiful, and the bright colors behind the image really add to the boldness of the card.   I added some Enamel dots in the new InColors as well.

I really wanted to use the big sunflower die, so I made this card just to focus and that big flower.  I embossed the sentiment in white on black, and added the ribbon in Just Jade to sort of mimic a leaf.

I hope you like my bold take on this new stamp set.  I plan to keep using this set in more ways in the coming weeks, so check back and see some more projects with the Celebrate Sunflowers set.

What do you think about the set and dies?  I think it's a pretty great set.  If you wish you could get your hands on some new items right now, you can! By becoming a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, you can choose from a selection of Sneak Peek products for your Starter Kit.  The Starter kit is $99 and you can choose up to $125 worth of products from any current product plus a selection of coming soon products to make up your kit.  After that there is no obligation, but you will enjoy a great discount on future orders if you stay on, as well as access to a fun online community of other stampers sharing ideas and creativity.  I would love for you to join my team. Pineapple treat holder

Hi everyone! Today I want to show you a cute little treat holder, perfect for this pack of Pineapple gum or other fun little summer time candy.  I think these would be a great party favor for a beach themed party, retirement lunch, luau, or any time you just want to give a little something to a friend or coworker.
I made a quick video to show you the Timeless Tropical bundle and how to easily put this little favor together.

The Timeless Tropics bundle is in the Spring Mini catalog, which ends on June 2nd.  These products will carry over into the new Annual catalog, but they will no longer be sold as a bundle with a discount, so if these products are on your wish list, act now for the best price. The coordinating Tropical Oasis designer series paper will not be in the new Annual Catalog, so get that now while it is still available.

Tropical Oasis Product Suite Spotlight

The Mini Catalog Inspiration

Tropical Oasis Suite

The Tropical Oasis Suite is the perfect way to take yourself on a tropical vacation, if only in your imagination! The Timeless Tropical stamp (#151497) set is blooming with classic island images like hibiscus flowers, palm trees and pineapple. The coordinating In the Tropics Dies (#151495) cut out the stamp images, but also include additional coordinating images that make crafting beautiful projects as easy as a stroll on the beach!

The coordinating Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper (#151252) is a gorgeous explosion of color while the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder (#151503) and Tropical Oasis Trinkets (#151253) add the perfect splash of texture and detail. While the Timeless Tropical Stamp set and In The Tropics dies will carry over into the new Annual Catalog in June, they will no longer be at the Bundle Price, so act now to save. The Paper and Trinkets are only available while supplies last, so act quickly on those before they are gone for good.

This lovely card features watercoloring, ink splatter, and a textured background created with die cut flowers. I think you'll bask in the lovely colors and enjoy a little mental vacation while you create this beauty!

As always, feel free to contact me at any time! I love to discuss all things stampy!
Sincerely,
Beth

Three Cards with the Stamparatus and the Ornate Garden Suite

Hi Everyone! Today I took out the Stamparatus to make some swap cards and I thought I would play around with it since it was on my desk.  I came up with these three cards to show off ways to use the Stamparatus.  They are a lot of fun and they show off a new collection of products from the Ornate Garden suite, which will be featured in the new Catalog that comes out in June! These products are an early release, so you can get them right now!

I created this column of Thanks sentiments by using the 'Hinge Step' technique. The Stamparatus is perfect for lining up images, but with Stampin' Up's exclusive hinges, you can even move the plates up and down to get rows or columns of images.

Watch this video to see the 'Hinge Step' in action.

In the video I mentioned that I would add the cardstock sizes, so here you go.
Card Base Terracotta Tile: 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 scored down the
                  center.
Designer Series Paper Ornate Garden
                  5 1/2 by 4 1/4 (outside)
                  3/4 by 4 (inside strip)
Whisper white 2 by 5 (outside image panel)
                  4 by 5 1/4 (inside panel)
Early Espresso 2 1/2 by 51/2 then cut with the die from
                   the Ornate Layers collection

This card also use the ' Hinge Step' technique, but this time to line the images up in a nice row.
Card Base Crushed Curry: 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 scored down
               the center.
Embossed layer 4 by 5 1/4, Embossed with the Ornate
                Floral 3D embossing folder.
Watercolor paper 2 1/4 by 3 1/5 main image panel
               3/4 by 2 1/4 for the sentiment.
Early Espresso 2 1/4 by 4 1/4 then cut with then
                Ornate Layers dies.
Shimmery white inside layer 4 by 5 1/4
Designer Series Paper strip 5 1/4 by 3/4

This last card uses the Stamparatus to stamp in multiple color layers without having to worry about lining them up.
Card Base Terracotta Tile 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 scored down
               the center.
Designer Series Paper Ornate Garden
              5 1/4 by 3 (outside)
              1 by 5 1/4 (inside)
Whisper White cardstock 4 by 5 1/4 inside
1 by 4 cut out with the Ornate Layers dies
Early Espresso 2 by 5 cut out with the Ornate Layers dies

Purchase a Stamparatus and get a Free card kit.  Make the cards shown or use the kit to create your own one of a kind cards.  You will need to use your own stamps, ink and adhesives.  Kit comes with envelopes.
