Sanded Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder

Today I want to share a fun card that we made at Stamp Camp last week.  We used the new Sunflower 3D Embossing folder from Stampin' Up! I used it on a piece of patterned Designer Series Paper from the Wildly Flowering pack.  This designer paper is on the Last Chance List at a discount while supplies last. I really like this collection and the smaller floral print worked nicely for this technique.

I started by running the Designer Paper through the Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder. For this technique you want to use the raised image, so when you place your paper into the embossing folder, be sure that the side of the paper you want to use is facing up with the logo side of the Embossing folder.  Next simply take a sanding block or sanding paper and gently sand the top of the paper.  Where the image is raised, some paper will sand away, revealing the white core of the paper.

For a full step by step how to, visit my YouTube channel.

The Card Design is a 'Book Fold', you can see it in action in the video. This is a fun and simple fold that is just a little different to add a touch of interest. I added some extra layers by adding a mat of Early Espresso light (the light side of the two-toned paper) behind the designer paper.  I also added a few accents by cutting some greenery from the Gallery Blooms dies.

On this version, I used the Wild Wheat side of the paper.

This version uses the same paper, but the Moody Mauve side.

The sentiments are stamped onto designer paper, also from the same Wildly Flowering Designer Series Paper cut with the Nested Essentials dies.

The Wildly Flowering Designer Series Paper is only available while supplies last and it is currently on sale.  While the Moody Mauve and Wild Wheat colors are retired, the paper contains other colors that are still available such as the Early Espresso, Misty Moonlight and Mossy Meadow, so you can easily use this paper with current colors.

Both cards use sentiments from 'The Right Words' stamp set. This is a really nice stamp set to have. There are sentiments for both the outside and inside of the card. This set is available in English, French and Spanish.

The Sunflower Embossing folder is XL, 6 by 8 1/2 inches! It is great for many techniques and I look forward to trying out so many more.

As of today, the Embossing folder is on Backorder, bummer. But, the expected date for it to be back in stock is September 29th.  Did you know that you can get an email from Stampin' Up! to alert you when an item is back in stock.  You will see a notice on the item that it is out of stock and there is a field to fill in your email to get notified when it arrives! Yay!

Abundant Beauty Stenciled Crate Card

Hi everyone! In just 2 more days the new Stampin' Up! mini catalog will go live and I will be able to share it here on my blog. But for now, I thought I would share a fun new product from the catalog.  The product is called Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks and it's a set of 7 stencils.   4 of the stencils are used to make up these beautiful sunflowers.  The others are snowflakes, leaves and hounds-tooth pattern.

I just had to try out the Sunflowers first, and here is my first result.

I first used Blending Brushes to add the color to the flowers and leaves. I choose to use Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, Pecan Pie, Early Espresso and Old Olive.

Next I used the Timber Embossing Folder to add a wood texture to the cardstock. I then cut the image into three parts.  I used a sponge with Crumb Cake ink on it to add some distressed look to the Vanilla cardstock and help show more of the woodgrain from the Timber Embossing Folder.

Next I cut the Vanilla piece into three parts, and attached a thin strip behind them to resemble a crate. I used Dimentionals to attach the whole piece to the card base.

I added a sentiment from the Something Fancy stamp set on a label cut from the Cheerful Daisies die set.  Behind the label is a bit of linen thread.

See a full how to on my YouTube Channel.

The Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks will not be in the Online Store until the catalog goes live on September 6th, so I can't add them to the product list yet.

Painted Harvest Stamp Set

Hi Everyone! Today I would like to share a new card using the Painted Harvest stamp set.  This is such a pretty stamp set for fall and I just love the soft way that the stamp images is created.  This is a two-step stamp and the images layer beautifully to create the end result.  For this card I used Crushed Curry and Tangerine Tango, with an Early Espresso center.  The leaves are Two step as well and I used Garden Green.
What do you think about that Burlap background? I love it! I purchased that stamp when it first came out and then somehow forgot all about it! So glad I remembered it for this card. It is stamped in Crumb Cake.

I made a quick video showing some tips and tricks for using this pretty stamp set.

And here is another card I made with this set last week.
