Valentine Treat

These little treat boxes were made fast and easy with the Fancy Favor Box Die from Stampin' Up!  I've used this die many times when I've needed a quick gift as a thank you, or for a gift card.  They would also make nice table favors at a baby or bridal shower.  I had my Hearts Collection framelits dies out on my desk a lot this month, so I used them again here.  I cut a heart shaped hole in the box before taping it together, then added a heart frame around the hole.  To keep candy from falling out, I added a piece of acetate to the inside of the box.  Super Easy.  A hole punch and some ribbon complete the box.

I love you!...

From the bottom of my Heart to the Tip of my Toes!

Another mom told me about this idea that she saw online and it sounded so cute I had to make it!  I love projects that use kids hand prints or toe prints and thumbprints. See this post here for another idea Angel wings  Its fun to see their hands get bigger and bigger, until they are too old and refuse to do them, like my oldest son David.  The children's hands form a heart, and then I added their toes at the bottom.  I put Whisper White Craft Ink on their hands and stamped them, then did the same to their toes.  I then quickly cleaned them up so that I didn't have ink all over the house :)   Jillian was being a stinker and wouldn't show her face for the picture.

I added a tag to the page, using the new Hearts Collection Framelits Dies from the new Occasions mini catalog.  I used Blushing Bride and matching ribbon to complete the tag. 

This was a fun, easy, and quick project to do with the kids! Thanks for the Idea Lori!  You can use washable paint, or use red ink on white paper, whatever you have on hand to make the tag.

Pretty Edges!

I am really liking the new products that go with the Big Shot!  The new Edgelits Dies are really fun to use! On this thank you card, I used the Edgelits Dies and the matching Embossing Folders called "Adorning Accents".  The card started with a base of Blushing Bride, which I trimmed with the Egdeits Die.  I then made a strip of cardstock in Riding Hood Red and trimmed its edge with the Edgelits Die as well. 

I love that the products all co-ordinate together.  The Adorning Accents Edgelits dies are a set of 2 for $9.95, and the matching Adorning Accents Embossing Folders come as a set of 3 for $8.95.  I used the Embossing Folders on my BEE MINE project here.    I really wanted to use one of my new stamp sets and the Bordering on Romance set fit the mood perfectly.  This set also has a stamp that matches the Edgelits Dies, but I did not use that image on this card.  I recently saw a card that someone made, where they colored with markers on colored cardstock.  I had always wanted really sharp colors, so I stamp on white if I am going to color the images in.  But I liked the way the card looked with the coloring right on the colored cardstock, so I thought I would give it a try.  I decided to use ink and blender pens instead of markers, so that I could get some highlights.  I stamped my image in Versamark and then used white embossing powder and my heat gun to create an embossed image.  I also stamped a "Thank you" and embossed it as well.   I then used my Riding Hood Red, Lucky Limeade, and Island Indigo ink pads and a Blender pen to color in the floral image.

I also decorated the inside of my card.  I wanted the cut Edge on the front to really stand out, so I added a strip of Twitterpated paper to the inside, that shows nicely on the front of the card.   I also added some white cardstock to write a message on.

Journals

I've been having fun making journals this week.  I made one for my sister-in-law.  She has just recently had a new baby and I was thinking about how they grow up so fast and how you think you'll remember all the things they say and do, but then years later you forget.  So, I thought a journal would be nice, and what better than one made with a picture of your cute little baby on the cover, right?  So, with the help of Stampin' Up's  "My Digital Studio", I made a journal with Edith's picture.  Then my husband and I were talking this morning because we were reminded of something funny our kids used to say, and we couldn't remember which of our sons said it.  I decided it would be a good idea to make a journal for myself, a kids journal, and it was so fun to make them that I ended up making 3!  One for each of my children.  I plan to keep track of all the funny or sweet things that they say or do, and then I can give them the journal when they are older and starting a family of their own.   First up, my Zachary journal.  It says "Enjoy the Journey", using images from Stampin' Up's travel journal digital kit.  
    This one took me minutes to make, it came together so fast because I stuck to all papers and images from the same digital kit.    Next we have Jillian's journal.   I used paper from "Timeless Portrait" and a black bow to co-ordinate with the bow in her hair.    David has two journals.  He has just turned 10 and is an avid cartoon maker, as well as a movie maker!  He loves to make stop motion movies with his legos, and draws tons of cartoons.  I thought he might like a journal to keep track of ideas that he could use for his cartoons and movies.  I found a drawing that he made of his favorite cartoon character, Darvin the Dog.  I scanned the picture into my computer, and used it on the cover of his idea journal.    I hope he likes his surprise!  I used a crumpled paper background from the "Downtown Grunge" kit, which is also where I got the digital "tape" that holds Darvin's picture.  I hope he likes it!

Birthday Calendar!

At our last Stamp Camp we made a Birthday Calendar, also sometimes called a perpetual calendar.  This was a fun, but a bit long, project.  We usually make 5 or 6 things at stamp camp, so 13 pages went a bit longer than usual, but I hope everyone had fun!  This is a picture of the cover page.  I took the spiral binding off the calendars to make them easier to work with.  We used the new Labels Collection Framelit dies and the Beautiful Butterflies die for Embellishments, as well as the Everyday Enchantment Paper, and Everyday Enchantment Brads and Ribbon pack, free right now with qualifying purchase during Sale-a-Bration.   See the Sale-A-Bration catalog here
