Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pens

 

Hello my stampin' friends! Today I want to show you a card that I made for Card Buffet. I wanted to get back to Simple Stamping with this card because at Card Buffet I try to keep things simple and less expensive.  Card Buffet is sort of my intro to stamping event. I provide a variety of card for people to choose from and I keep them simple so that I made the event inexpensive. This card fits the bill and is still very pretty and fun to make.  

I used the large flower from the Simply Beautiful stamp set in Calypso Coral to make the focal point for my background.  I added some Old Olive springs and Peach Pie accent stamps to gill in the remainder of the background.  

To color in the flower I used Stampin' Up! Watercolor Pencils.  I only added color to the petals close to the flower center and left the tips of the petals white. 

 Next I used a Blender Pen to soften the coloring. I blended out where the color ended, still leaving a bit of the tips white. Notice in the photo below how the petals closest to the pen have been blended, compared to the others that I haven't gotten to yet.

Reason To Celebrate Valentine's Day card

 Hi Stamping Friends! Today I want to share a very simple Valentine's Day card. This is a quick and easy card, but is really soft and pretty with the help of the new Hearts of Love 3D embossing folder and Vellum. 

 When you run vellum through an embossing folder you get a soft impression. The embossed areas turn a little whiter. I layered the vellum over a card base of Pretty In Pink.  I then added some heart embellishments from the Endless Love die set and the Reason To Celebrate stamp set for the sentiment. I anchored the images to the card with a strip of Designer Series Paper from the Made with Love pack. 

 I think the Reason to Celebrate stamp set is a great addition to any stamp collection. I love that there is a St. Patrick's Day! I will use this set for both cards and scrapbook pages.

The Made with Love designer series paper is going to get a lot of use in the next few months. It is of course great for Valentine's Day but it will be great all year too with the more geometric patterns and flowers. 
 

The Hearts of Love embossing folder would be nice for weddings and anniversaries, as well as Valentine's Day. 

Take a look at this fun sample from the catalog. The Hearts of Love embossing folder was inked up, then the Basic White Cardstock was added and run through the embossing machine to imprint the hearts with the pink ink and embossed at the same time.  so fun! 

 The Endless Love dies will be great on scrapbook pages and cards, treat holders or  home decor projects.

New Kits added to the Kits Collection

 Three New kits have been added to the Kits Collection in the Online Store at Stampin' Up! 

They are all super cute! My favorite is the Lots To Love kit! These flowers are right up my alley. I really like the colors and fun white frames. This kit doesn't have any stamping, you simply need to assemble and embellish with the included yellow flower centers.  The cards are very dimensional with the frames sitting up from the bases.  The kit contains everything needed to complete the cards and is only $15 for 9 cards with envelopes!  A bargain for sure!

  Next is the Butterfly Garden Kit.  This is a really pretty kit that also makes 9 cards with envelopes.  The Butterfly Garden kit has some stamping to do and includes a clear stamp block, an ink spot and a stamp set. You also get all the adhesive needed to complete the projects.  The cost for this kit with the stamp set and ink is $24.

 And finally we have the super adorable Adopt A Pet kit. This kit makes 4 projects consisting of 4 cute little paper animals with a container for each and a set of adoption papers.  This would be cute to put together with your kids or grandkids, or maybe a class project.  This kit is $15 and contains everything needed to put together the projects.

New Hope Love & Joy stamp set - Shaker cards

 

Take a look at a fun new stamp set called Hope Love & Joy! I think this is such a fun new set and I really like the many ways to use it.  You can switch out the 'O' from the words and use the various images in it's place.  The words have an Advent feel to them, so this would be a nice Christmas set too.  The praying hands or support ribbon are good to use to send encouragement to someone going through an illness. 

  I opted to go with a Shaker Card for my first card with this set and with Valentine's Day so close at hand, I used the Love sentiment with the Heart dies.  Also releasing this month is a new Valentine's Day Designer Series Paper pack and some super cute Loose Valentine's Assortment shaker elements. 

 

  There are so many new fun products releasing tomorrow, so you will want to be sure to check the new January to April mini catalog release, the new Online Exclusives release as well as the 3 new kits being released!                                                                                                                  

 

                                         

For this card I used Bubble Bath for the main card base.  I used a pretty pattern from the Made with Love designer series paper for the background and an accent piece of wood grain patterned paper from the Country Woods designer series paper. Next I layered some Strawberry Slush Ribbon on the wood paper. 

I stamped the main sentiments in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Strawberry Slush. 

After cutting out the heart with the die, I used a window sheet and some Foam Adhesive Strips to create the shaker element. I have a full how to with tips for this card on my YouTube Channel. 

  

 

 

 

 

For this next version I used a pattern from the Florals In Bloom designer series paper pack on a Strawberry Slush card base. I also opted to use a warmer wood tone pattern from the Country Woods designer series paper pack. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I added some additional Loose Valentine's Assortment pieces to the front of the card as well.

Sneak Peek at the new Nature's Symphony bundle from Stampin' Up!

 

Hi Stampin' friends.  Today I am playing around with the new Nature's Symphony stamp set and dies from Stampin' Up!  This set will be in the new January - April mini catalog that comes out on Tues January 6th. 

I loved the large leaf sprig die so much, so I knew that I wanted to use it as a focal point. I cut it out with Pretty Peacock and then actually worked back from that. 

The new Nature Walk designer series paper is all patters of deep blues and greens, which are my favorites. The patterns are abstract and geometric in design. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Because the new catalog is not out yet, I am not allowed to show catalog images, so I can't show you the images of the papers and stamps, but I can show them in my video. Click on the video link to see more of the stamps and dies, as well as the papers that are coming next week.
